“Great comfortable place to rest and eat a delicious meal. They will make whatever you like even if it's not on the menu. Whatever you order it's going to taste delicious!! Great friendly service and large portions of food. I am always taking leftovers home. My favorite is the double cheeseburger with everything. It includes grilled onions, delicious chilli and an egg on top. The egg is cooked the way you like it. I enjoy an over easy egg on top of my burger. OMG delicious!! They also have a gaming room in the back.“

“The day we went was a bit buzy but we got seat almost right away. The food was good but if u are buying the pancakes just note that they are huge. Love that they give a donut hole and an orange wedge to start and end your mean with some ice cream. I love Business that goes a little more for there customers. And the service was good as well. “I cannot put into words how wonderful, hospitable and welcoming this place is. I was welcomed in by the owner Samantha, young respectful young lady, she took my order she made me feel at home. I felt as though I was eating brunch at my Abuelita’s home. Thank you Samantha and family for the warm welcome- the red chilaquiles and cafe de olla we’re phenomenal and I will be sure to be back with my babies and husband! “Great pancake place! We came on the weekend and found a seat straight away. The pancakes come in big portions and we had a great time. Waiters are nice and attentive. My apple pancake was very good but too big of a portion to finish it myself, so good value for money.“

“I just love this little restaurant!! I have breakfast there at least once every time I visit family in Avondale. It’s cute, it’s clean and the staff are so friendly and inviting. The food never disappoints. Several options of eggs Benedict, French toasts, the whole lot. The omelets are huge. The staples are all just as tasty too. And the food cooks up fast. Today I had the house salmon eggs Benedict and it’s just a tasty as the first time I had it.Marlene was my waitress and she was just so kind and never let me water get below half full. “We just happened to catch the name Carabella on our way from doing some errands and decided to come back and visit the restaurant. “I was a steady customer but will not be returning to this establishment again. Today I asked to sit in a booth and James, the owner said "We're too busy to sit one person in a "big" booth. (I was the only one waiting for a table.) So the waitress wanted me to sit at a table. The "big" booth seats 4. The table they wanted me to sit at also seats 4. The only difference is the booth doesn't hurt my back like the hard chairs do. I'm dying of cancer, which James is aware of, I have enough pain I don't need any more by sitting on hard chairs. Well he won't have to worry about being so "busy" to let someone have some comfort he's got one less patron. I'm done with this place.“

“We ordered take out. Our wait for delivery was an hour. The food was cold. We did not receive syrup, butter, napkins or silverware. One order was missing the grits. One order was missing the potatoes. The potatoes that were delivered were under cooked and the onions and peppers topping them are raw. For $70+ we expected better.“

“I placed an order to go. Was informed that there was a $3.00 to go charge and a gratuity would be added on the order cause it was over $100.00. After I checked the receipt, $18.35 was the gratuity. I thought it would be maybe $5.00. Very disappointed. Had I known this, I would have come into the restaurant and ate there had them provide me with service. I am a senior and that was definetly not right. I've already instructed my family not to get me gift card from Maple and Jam.“

“This is my second review for Eggy's...now I'm back in town with my wife and had to bring her here for breakfast. She had the Florentine Crepes, I had the Irish Skillet, and we split the Cinnamon Roll Pancake...a PHENOMENAL recommendation by our server, Jason. In a city known for it's food culture, Eggy's is STILL my favorite. Nestled next to Lakeshore East Park, it almost feels like an insider secret. I've now eaten here 4 times over two trips to Chicago, 6 months apart, with a different server and a different meal each time, and I still look forward to coming back. Ask for Jason, he'll take great care of you.“
