“I hosted a private group cooking class for 25 people for my birthday, and everything was absolutely perfect! The space is beautiful and needed no addition decoration. I connected my ipad to the built-in sonos speakers to play my spotify playlist, and I was able to project a picture slide show on the large tv display monitors. From the moment I walked in he had everything accounted for - circular name tags for the wine glasses, hair ties for those with long hair, latex gloves, glasses for beverages (it's BYO), bottled and sparkling water, etc. Chef Naveen and I consulted on the menu and he took into account people who had food restrictions. Everything we made was absolutely delicious. I didn't tell my group we were cooking Indian food because some people automatically assume they won't like it, but let me tell you there were NO LEFTOVERS! The staff was amazing, always cleaning and organizing in the background. Chef Naveen was the highlight of the evening! He was so funny and engaging and he could remember everyone's name. My guests absolutely loved him. Everything was absolutely perfect. I give him 10 stars and will definitely be back again!“

We could tell immediately how much they care for the couples that they work with and there was no doubt in our mind we made the right decision by working with them! Upon our first meeting they took the time to get to know us, our cultural backgrounds and used the details to put together an incredible wedding tasting menu. We have not gone a day since our wedding without someone telling us how incredible the food was! The entrees were served hot, timely and tasted even better than we had remembered it. We were even told that the presentation was like it was served at a gourmet restaurant - it truly was!Ovy Signature Catering is the best in the game and I would recommend them over and over again to anyone throwing a wedding! Firstly Remedy, Sarah Ann and Andrea were super responsive, totally knew all their stuff and were incredibly respectful of our budget and desires. The tasting with them was fun and Very tasty and I can't thank them enough for how our wedding went last weekend. We got to the venue and honestly everything was done and done better than I could have imagined. They flipped the room after the ceremony and I can't get the picture of how beautiful it looked out of my mind! They know how to set a gorgeous table even with our sort of minimal decor. The lead greeted us and asked us only necessary questions and then just got it done which was a godsend because of all the chaos of our families and wedding party etc. We came back to the private room after our photos and there was a gorgeous plate of appetizers and our signature drinks there waiting. All of our guests told us how amazing the food was, bar staff was great, and not a single thing was out of place or late or off. At the end of the night them or the venue staff Both? (they worked in tandem with Ovation, Chicago) handed us a box of all our stuff rounded up from everywhere and thank god they did because by midnight I dunno if we would have been super able to find it all ourselves! Absolute professionals who know exactly how to cater an amazing party. Our venue was super happy that we chose them because they love working with them too and it's clear to see why. “I've always bought Kasia's frozen pierogi's in my local market and honestly did not know that Kasia Deli was the same company. I was delighted to see other products made fresh like the cabbage rolls that I did not hesitate to ask for. They were sold by weight so I bought 2 pounds, 1 IB with no sauce and 1 IB with what seems like a thin layer of tomato sauce. I did ask for extra sauce which I thought I was getting a few ounces but only saw that she gave a 1 oz ($.35) added to my bill. (I suggest you not get extra sauce). I did see a box of kolaczki cookies on top of the deli counter and I thought they were made in-house (they are not). The cookies were doughy and not enough fruit jam. Overall, the food was fantastic and I would come back for more cabbage rolls and fresh pierogi's. Location is convenient and they have limited free parking spots on the side of the building.“

“I recently hosted a 50th birthday party for my wife with approx. 175 guests. Nit and his team helped make this event the greatest night of our lives. From first contact, to the tasting, to executing flawlesly the night of the event, everything was top notch and professional !! The tasting was a first of its kind experience for me and everything was so delicious it was hard to decide what not to include... but Nit helped guide my decisions, knowing from experience what people want to eat at a party, how they want to eat it, and how much of it they will eat.. but his greatest feat of the night may have been his last minute change to the floor plan to put a quad bar in the middle of the room, resulting in quick, no line beverage service the entire evening! I received many compliments specifically about just that!! They served alcohol provided by me, and when we started to get low on tequila and vodka, Nit sprung into action, ran down the street, and came back with 7 bottles of each!! I wanted food stations and not a sit down dinner. they set up 3 stations around the room, each with something different, as well as an amazing desert table, and the service from the staff was outstanding !! I would definitely recommend using J&L catering for your event. I would also recommend slightly over estimating your number of guests as I did to be sure you hopefully have a little leftovers of each item, not only because it was delicious, but because if you have no leftovers, it means at some point, you ran out... Prices were reasonable, she was so incredibly flexible, I had her cell phone so I could get ahold of her at any time and - of course - the food was GREAT. Not only that but she was literally our 'day of' planner in the sense that she took charge on our wedding day and made sure everything stayed on schedule and ran smoothly without me having to worry. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a top quality caterer where you get individualized attention and flexibility. “Andrew and his team catered our wedding in October 2021. He is a true pro and the type of guy that makes you feel like a cool and more special person for knowing him. The stunning pictures of his food posted here are truly representative of his talents/execution and are as delicious as they look. Most of all Andrew was an absolute pleasure to work with and was exceedingly patient and kind to us. My mother in law, who has past professional experience in the industry as well, was able to book his team for a subsequent event for her office and she sang his praised for that event as well. He is from Louisiana and has mastered Creole/Cajun classics but was also able to riff off of all our ideas (for a ~7 course cocktail style menu) and provided plenty of helpful feedback to hone the final menu. He even sourced specific product imports from back home to ensure the quality of his dishes. Andrew was flexible and adaptive in responding to challenging/unpredictable situations with grace and poise. I am jealous of anyone who gets to attend one of his events and hope for the privilege again someday soon.“

This is an amazing location, especially when it's warm and you can sit outside, to get some incredible food (this is some of the best barbeque you've ever had - no exaggeration, and I'm notoriously critical about food things) and enjoy feeling like you're in nature without having to leave the city.Give Soul and Smoke some love and all the dollars. But make sure Rockwell on the River doesn't get too crowded now that I've shared my secret. Deal?* Also I totally crave their BBQ enough that I'll trek over here just for takeout too.Parking: You can usually park really close by on the street. At most I've parked about half a block away.“
“Even though we had a reservation we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated. It didn't help that 2 couples walked in and went to the bar in order to "jump" the line and 1 couple ended up being seated, that was unfair. It did also take the waitress a while to take our order. If it were not for my date and the fact that this was important to him and that I absolutely love Italian food, I would have opted to leave the restaurant. But we ended up staying and I had my first glass of wine ? ever and it turned out okay.“
