The service from the employees is very good. As always, the employees are friendly and energetic. We didn’t have to wait for long to get our order. “2nd time coming here. Food is phenomenal. Never had chicken with honey butter or pimento cheese with fries. When you put the butter on the chicken, the melted butter, the crispy texture, and the juices of the chicken just melts in your mouth. As far as the pimento cheese goes, the sauce has a bit of a tomato hint blending in with the cheese when you have it with the fries.“

“This is a super cute hidden gem with a tasty selection of southern cooking. The ambiance was nice. It felt very cozy and I loved the artwork and set up of the restaurant overall. The staff was super friendly and attentive to customers The food was delicious and I only wished I'd ordered more. I went close to closing and as I got my food another table had cornbread come out and I was jealous. I'd definitely recommend the sweet potatoes and fried chicken. We all shared food and will probably do the same when coming back.“

“I am such a sucker for a fried chicken place..I loveeeeee me some good fried chicken. I look for flavor, breading, texture, juiciness, and over all quality of the bird. This chicken was soooooo good! It came to me BURNING HOT..which I appreciate. The crunch was ridiculous in the best way. Flavor could have been amped up (but it was sooooooo goooooood regardless) and the breading wasn't really adhered to all the chicken (the breast in particular and the chicken sandwich chicken). The pieces are pretty huge. The hot sauce it came with wasn't stupid hot, but just enough heat and it came on the side. $30 for half a bird w mashed potatoes. Oh the potatoes....so creamy and pretty flavorful. Honestly worth it. I would get it again. For the drink I had the hibiscus/gin/thyme cocktail (I forget the name) and it was goooood as well, could've been stronger, but I'm a boardline lush, it's not on them lol. Got the wings for the appetizer (sauce on the side) it was AMAZING with or without the sauce.Navy Pier is EXPENSIVE but this place is worth it. “I went today…I did not get the name of the person who attended us. I believe he is the owner, he is very nice and welcoming. The chefs are kind with good vibes too. Overall Good vibes. “We ordered: Jibarto con Arroz - steak between fried garlicky plantains Papa's Pollo Food was all delicious. Both the rotisserie chicken and steak was well seasoned and tender. Jibarto sandwich was a great combo of fresh and savory flavors and textures. Rice texture and flavor is a tasty side. Employee was very enthusiastic and nice. Good service. I like the family vibe including the people photos on the tables. I'm going to recommend this to my Puerto Rican friends.“

“I tried the Fire & Grill yesterday for take out order. I ordered 6-piece wings and fries in both Grilled and fried. I can say they were equally very good. Nice size and done just right. Juicy and good flavor with plenty of tasty fries. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They informed me that the grilled wings only 4 were ready and I could wait a few minutes for the other two but offered to give me a leg and thigh in its place if I did not want to wait. I took them up on the offer and the grilled leg and thigh was also very good. I will be ordering from here again. The only thing I would say is that I did not see a bathroom available for those that want to dine in and wash your hands afterwards.“

“My boyfriend was really excited to try this place because they don't have one where we're from. It did not disappoint! So many cool things to choose on the menu, as well as speciality drinks like pineapple lemonade. We were both happy with what we got.“

“Fry the coop easily has one of if not the BEST chicken sandwiches out there right now. The seasoned fries are also absolutely amazing. The reason I leave the three stars instead of five in service is because of how unfair the takeout is. SIDENOTE: I have no problems with the workers at all. These are the bags they are told to fill so they do it. The workers here are great people. I have come to this location for years (since roughly the second week of it’s opening) and the last few times I’ve ordered take out, the serving of fry’s has been SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the amount of fries you get if you dine in. I get it, it’s just fries, BUT if I’m going to pay roughly eighteen dollars for the same meal I should receive the same amount someone who is dining in receives. The photos include ALL the fries that came with the order (I took the fries out of the bottom of the bag as well and put them in there).TL;DR: great food, takeout portion of fries is MUCH smaller yet still fully priced“

“First time going today. Took the family because I saw they served food for kids too. They have a deal 2 for $10 chicken sandwich so we tried that out. Bought large fries which was enough for all of us plus some, Mac n cheese for my son and another chicken sandwich for my daughter. Paid under $40 with drinks. I tried the hot chicken sandwich with coleslaw and I’ll tell you what, it’s very good on par with fry the coop, and I love fry the coop, the fries were crispy and seasoned I had them mild, also great flavor. “Grabbed an order to go since a warm March day. The order was easy to place but it took a while as they had several orders before ours that mistakes were made on. We tried the orange chicken and beef dumplings. The orange chicken was delicious and would have that again. The dumplings were good as well. Interested to try other items on their menu“

“Took my daughter since we were both craving chicken sandwiches. We got one boxcar and one betty with some fries. Not knowing what to expect they both came out piping hot and fresh. We both bit in to our sandwiches and gave the knowing nod of "WHOA this is excellent!" to each other. We then tried each others and couldn't decide which one we liked better. The peach on the betty is not too overpowering, the pimento adds a surprise flavor element that works really well. The buns were fluffy and delicious. Then we got to the fries and lordy were they perfect. Next time I go here I will probably honestly just get one of each with fries because they're that good!“

“Citybird is a great spot for chicken tenders! All their sauces are delicious and the tenders have a flavorful coating. After trying all their items, my favorite is surprisingly the salad with 3 tenders on the side! The salad has a ton of different high quality ingredients. I like getting the citybird vinaigrette but lemon thyme ranch is also amazing. The fries are really good and such a great deal for the amount they give. The bathroom is always clean. There's street parking along Halsted that you may have to pay for, except for holidays and Sundays. Definitely an underrated, affordable and delicious restaurant and West Loop. Service is great too, if you dine in they bring the food on nice plates to your table.“

“I first had Gus' around Memphis area and it tasted great for fried chicken. It includes a very small spice kick but with great flavor and cooked well. This tasted similar to Memphis area, so consistency is good so far.My order had a very minor mix-up and the staff were happy to help correct it. Great service, great food.I personally think the pricing is too high considering it is chicken, but at the least the flavor is great and worth it for maybe once a week. This is the same problem at the Memphis area for high pricing, it's quite similar.“

I was half way through of my food and was already full.They give discount to DePaul students.Something very sweet that happened to me was that I requested a low sugar Strawberry lychee iced tea 30% sugar, but it tasted still extremely sweet. Then, one of the workers made it for me 0% and compensated me. He was so sweet and very helpful! “I've heard a lot of hype around Nando's and knew I had to give it a try while I was in Chicago, since it isn't readily available on the west coast. We ordered the Spicy Chicken Kale Caesar Salad, 1/2 Chicken and Chips, and a draft beer. The peri-peri marinade is spicy, citrusy, and a little smoky, with the key ingredient being the African bird's eye chili. Since it was our first time, we opted for the mild spice, but there's also sauces at varying spice levels on the side. Overall, chicken was tender and the fries and brussel sprouts were decent, but I think I wasn't as wowed by the marinade as I expected. Perhaps I was expecting something more like jerk chicken due to my own unfamliarity with the cuisine, so I felt like the grilled chicken was lacking smoky, earthy flavor. Maybe it's a flavor that will grow on me if I give it a couple more chances haha.“

“I was just in for dinner tonight with a friend and we had a wonderful experience. I had the traditional chicken sandwich and the corn salad. I asked our server, Kristin for her suggestion on a side, and corn salad was the winner! Amazing choice as I loved it. My friend got the 1/2 chicken and loved it. We had a great meal of fries, biscuits, and dessert. I can't say enough how great our server, Kristin was. She engaged with us, suggested food items, and came back to check on us several times. “We've ordered a number of times from Brasa Roja. The wood fired whole rotisserie chicken is super flavorful and fantastic. I also recommend the juices, particularly the Soursop with milk (if you've never heard of Soursop aka Guanabana, give it a try!). Some sides are not as great as the chicken which is the only reason it's not 5 stars.“
