“We come to this Portillo’s very couple months and drive over a hour just to eat here after loving it when we moved up to the chicago area and were so excited to see one come to Springfield IL after we moved back home. it’s always such a great experience for the kids but today we were very disappointed the food was not very good at all and the place was so dirty, nothing was filled, straws or ketchup and every table in the place was dirty, there were a lot of workers but no one cleaning up. I had to ask a worker for something to clean one of the tables with just so we had a clean table to eat at. what looked to be a manager was at a table on the phone.“

It was obvious the grill and oil from deep fryer aren’t routinely cleaned. Failed on a grand scale!!!! Never going back to Jr’s.“

“I think the food pop up was different since the 20th anniversary celebration was starting. The restaurant was outside and also had pizzas and salads. The pizza we ordered was excellent - meatball. I grilled the waiter before ordering because we had a very bad pizza the night before. Did not think you could do that in Chicago. He recommended the local Goose Island beer and assured us the pizza was freshly made Napoli style and very good. Beer was ice cold and good and the pizza was crusty and chewy and delicious.
