“First time and we will definitely be back! Everything was delicious. Starting veggie spring rolls. 2nd pan fried pork pot stickers. Small pork fried rice, and lastly Beef and pea pods. All cooked perfectly. Had enough food for 2 dinners for both of us! Reasonably priced too.“

Quesadilla was hot fresh and tasted great good cheese to chicken ratio. Salsa was watery so I feel like it didn't pair well with the quesadilla, more like a hot sauce.“

At first the staff told us that we would have to wait 30 minutes, but instead they decided to push a few tables together—so we could sit. It was very kind and thoughtful of them!! I absolutely loved the food, the sanji and dumplings being my absolute favorite! My least favorite dish was the chili pepper chicken, it tasted acidic and me and my friends ate the rice rather the chicken. Its personal preference though, so you might like it! The atmosphere was very nice and personally very cute in numerous ways!“

“Asian Bistro is hands down one of the best Asian restaurants I’ve been to in Illinois.

The food was packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying, every bite left me wanting more. The chicken with chili peppers was easily the standout and one of the best dishes I’ve ever had.

The service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked in often while also offering great recommendations.

Other than that I do have to say they're sweet and sour chicken is probably the best around. They're fried rice is also delicious. “Didn’t get food from the Golden Kitchen in a fairly long time. Today I was impressed by the one woman show on display, cooking, packing the food, taking orders, and being as gracious as always. The food is good and the place exemplifies the family business model. I’ll go back more often to ensure that places like this stay in business.“

A lot of Chinese American restaurants can have a sort of mass produced feel and use the same suppliers but you can tell a lot of love and pride goes into the food here.“

“Kind of expensive. Cabbage with a few drops of bacon $16.. two small spicy hotpot fish didn't taste so fresh sliced into 4 filets $50. Overall atmosphere is good and clean and plates are brought out by robots first before the server put them on the table. Overall probably would go back again but not ordering those two items.“

“This place is one of the best restaurants I've been to in the northern suburbs, it's hard to find good Sichuan style Chinese food but this place has it. I got the twice cooked chili fish was my favorite dish, the Mongolian beef had thick cuts of tender beef and seafood garlic fried rice was full of shrimp scallops mussels and fish. My family was out and I was on my own recovering from a surgery and felt like treating myself so I figured “ let’s get a bit fancy and order PF Chang”. What a huge mistake that was. The beef with Broccoli had les than 2 oz of beef for $30. I have included a comparison between Hunan Palace’s beef with vegetables vs what I received from PF. Hunan Palace blows PF away! Additional I have had very good luck requesting modifications, I like extra spicy and extra sauce, Human honored my request while PF did not. I think the pics tell all“

“I want to thank Tony for bringing the finest and most delicious Szechuan cuisine to the North Shore. I live downtown and have visited his restaurants in Chinatown and Michigan Ave. The food is exception each and every time I go to either location. When the "coming soon" sign popped up in Highland Park, I could not have been more thrilled, considering the food at our local chinese restaurants refuse to raise the bar on their food. There is no better Szechuan restaurant in the Chicago area or beyond. The food, the staff, and the service are all exceptional and executed with perfection and passion. This has been the most anticipated opening on the northshore for a reason. Lao is simply unbeatable. I love it love it LOVE IT!!!!!“

Also had some nigiri sushi, all very good. The Black Tobiko was plentiful and fresh. The Tamago and Inari, which are types of sushi that are deceptively simple seeming but really show a chef's knowledge and artistry, were excellent. I'm sure I will go again.“

After 3 rings and 5 minutes with no response I called them to let them know I was there. They finally came out, no apology just pushed the order thru the plastic and sign the receipt. Not even a thank you. I trust this rudeness was just the result of a bad day and not par for the course.“

It’s true that their menu is different, there used to be more american chinese, but they made a smaller menu and added dishes that looks more authentic szechwan. We ordered kung pao chicken, ma po tofu, and cucumber salad. We have been customers for several years and even though the menu has changed they have always been delicious. we paid $58 for food for 3-4 people. *edit to 4 stars: we only got one rice for two entrees (kung pao and ma po) and there feels like a lot of salt, like more than usual?“

“Aimos was our server for the evening. He was very intentive and quick to bring out a food and proper order. I hate receiving the appetizer and the entree at the same time, very pleased that didn't happen. The food came out within about 10 minutes and we had 3 entrees and it was so hot and fresh. Aimos was on top of refills and checking in on us accommodating accordingly. Very pleasant and relaxing visit. Will definitely come back. I got the Orange Chicken with white rice. It is a sit down restaurant with a lot of parking.“

“Craved crab rangoons, so found the closest spot. I purchased an order of crab rangoons (6), a large wonton soup, and a regular bubble tea.
This place actually surprised me with how much I loved it all! The crab rangoon filling is different than I've had before, it was so creamy and they were excellently filled. The bubble tea was delicious and a large size.
The wonton soup was the shining star that prompted me to write a review. I love this soup and always have to prepare myself for the oily feeling in my face. Not only did this soup not leave me feeling salted up, it was so tasty and fresh! The wontons were delicious and the green onion on top was crunchy.
I'll be coming back for more soup, it's worth the drive for me!“

“Over 20 years ago I started eating at their original Lincoln Park location. Today, their delicious food keeps me coming back time after time. It helps that the restaurant is staffed by the nicest people in the world. When I call for pickup they know my order (lad nar with chicken and Japanese gyoza) and they have it ready in ten minutes. Ten minutes!“
