“My wife and I enjoyed the Spring menu when we visited Seasons 52, the keyword being 'enjoyed.' It's always a treat to dine at Seasons 52, and this time was no exception. From the Tuna Tartare appetizer, to the entrees of Carmelized Scallops and Shrimp and Grits, to the shot glass-sized Turtle Cheesecake and Oatmeal Cookie desserts, everything was delicious. And Valentyna, our server, did a great job taking care of us. It had been over a year since the last time we visited Seasons 52. We won't wait that long next time.“

“We had a wonderful dinner at Prairie Grass Cafe. The spring rolls were loaded with delicious perfectly cooked shrimp and the accompanying sauce (sweet chili with garlic and cilantro) plays nicely with them. The flounder with roasted carrots and parsnip-potato purée was as delicious as it looks. It was generously portioned and beautifully plated. We also enjoyed the mussels with parsley, shallots, and breadcrumbs pasta. My husband is Sicilian and it reminded us of the pasta con le sarde that we love to have in Sicily. The mussels were plump and delicious. The wine list is very nice. We found wines we really enjoyed and they were reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Attems, Pinot Grigio, Friuli, Italy ‘22 with our mussels and flounder, and the Fritz Haag, Riesling, Germany ‘21 with our pumpkin pie for dessert. Service was perfect.“

The owner Ted is a very passionate man about his restaraunt, and I admire that. It absolutely shows that there is concern and care that goes into every corner of the Modern Plate. Now, I was here for an event in the club room, but rest assured, I WILL be coming here for just the dining experience and the food. I live about 50min away, but it is...THAT good. “If you don’t know yet, Lombard has got it going on! And GL105 is an outstanding example of this quaint suburb. Expect high quality and comfortable casual dining; perfect place to meet up with friends.

The bartender knows how to mix and they have great taste in wines. Their creative menu will please a variety of tastes with tender smoked meats, tasty Asian dishes and other savory feasts. We hit up the short rib stroganoff, chicken fried rice bowl and pressed short ribs. Every bite was delicious (maybe the mashed potatoes weren’t quite at the same level.)

She was attentive, efficient, and friendly. She accommodated a party of 15 and made it look easy. We never had to look for her because she was constantly making her rounds and checking on us. “Greetings my Foodzies, tonight we decided to try a restaurant that we have passed by numerous times. The great escape on Irving at 9540 w Irving Park rd. in Schiller Park.
This is a unique restaurant that has been around for years. The property has a rich history (see the picture I have posted with the story).
The restaurant’s bar area is very rustic with a bar that was hand carved in 1889, very impressive. TVs have been added to draw in a people who want to eat and have a drink while watching TV. Also a gaming section in the bar area.
Music is old school 50-60s, our server Mareen was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable.
We started with Grilled Calamari it was grilled nicely but could have used a few more seconds to get a little more char flavor. It was also missing the signature balsamic. Glenda chose the Rigatoni in Vodka sauce with chicken; the chicken was scarce and the sauce was not the traditional sauce it had an odd flavor, not terrible but not what we expected. With a cup of lentil soup, tasty but needed a little extra salt. I chose the baby back ribs and broasted chicken (these dishes they are known for) the chicken was very good, crispy skin and very juicy. The ribs were tender but a little dry. The BBQ sauce was the recipe is the recipe of the owner’s grandfather. It was a Kansas City type sweet sauce with a nice smoky flavor (as a first time patron we were given a bottle to take home). I had the baked French onion soup topped with mozzarella, I’m used to Gruyere, Swiss, or Gouda but ut was very good.

“What a great meal and dining experience. This is the restaurant we’ve been looking for and will continue to support. Scallops DeJohnge appetizer & Baked French onion soup were delicious. The salad was fresh and crisp. Dinner entrees prime rib which was perfectly cooked. Ribs were another hit. Loved the carrots!! We didn’t have room for dessert but look forward the the rice pudding next time. We arrived at 5pm and seated immediately by the time we left the tables were full. Service was outstanding from begging to end.“
