“Food was good and service,but... the hostesses... restaurant was not slammed by any means, they tried to sit us at the table right on the walkway but the column.. then they started setting up tables for Sundays brunch while people were still having their dinner - kinda hurry up am get out... not the usual experience for sure“
“The food wasn't bad, but we didn't think it was particularly flavorful but it was okay. The host was the star of the restaurant!Parking: It is a tower parking garage. The restaurant will validate parking. Lots of spaces, but plan to drive to very high levels to find one.“
“Price isn't bad for the buffet considering the other options in the connected buildings. The food was very fresh! Salad was delicious but the "fajita chicken" was dry as hell :(Seasoning was weak too, but I suppose that's unavoidable with a buffet.Overall, solid 3.5/5. Would eat here again for the salad bar at least lolVegetarian options: Full salad barWheelchair accessibility: There's elevators to the 2nd floor where the restaurant is.Dietary restrictions: Food is all labeled with dietary ingredient stuff“
“We were here for a Convention, excellent value for the money for the breakfast buffet. The lunch & dinner options are solid and the crew is nice. Pizza is a bit pricey for what it is (I'm a snob) but good.Certainly a spot to go to!“
“We have been coming to this hotel for years and it certainly appears they have read the reviews and improved this place. Food was fast and actually really good, the toast that came with the Caesar salad should be its own menu item. Nate our server was excellent.“
“A not so hidden gem as of late now that reviews are catching up with the imaginative menu and exceptional dining experience Community Tavern has been consistently providing over the past several years. Menu is full of unique dishes… elevated dumpling and noodles are a signature. Beautifully plated and generous- but not overly. Cocktail menu is fun, with zero proof options that are spot on. Save room for baked Alaska. Oh, and ambiance is chic but allows the focus to be where it belongs. On the food. Upscale West Loop experience in modest Portage Park for a lot less and no pretense.“
“This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is good, service excellent, and atmosphere nice. I had dinner here and they had a new spring menu. My only complaint is that the food menu is a little limited; I would have expected more options. I had the salmon, which was very good, and paired with an appetizer of the crab cake. Finally, the wine selection is more than sufficient.Parking: Parking is not an issue: plenty of space and easy to find.“
“We've eaten there 3 or 4 times now, each time delicious food and very nice service. We were able to sit and chat without worrying about taking up table for too long. When offered a coffee refill we were leaving and I asked if I could have refill in a to-go cup, request received with a smile. Looking forward to our next visit!“
“A latin style brunch place with delicious food. Chilaquiles are spicy, hearty. The rice and black beans are good, also different compared to most Mexican restaurants. The maduros and orange slice cuts are notable and unique. Also, don't confuse the leafs 'veins' for a hair, as I freaked out pulling one from the eggs. Restaurant decor is modern, food was ready quick, and the server was nice This place also serves pumpkin spice coffee year round.“
“Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“
