“This is a really nice Korean BBQ spot! We ordered the set for two people, but honestly, it could’ve easily fed four – the portions are super generous! The food itself was fantastic, especially the marinated meat, which was bursting with flavor in every bite.
The service was also really good. The staff was attentive and friendly. If you're looking for great Korean BBQ with plenty of food to go around, I definitely recommend this place!“

“If you’re checking the reviews to see which spot is best to eat at I recommend you give this place a shot.
I’ve tried almost every spot outside of the chicken spot in the front and I have to say that what a dumpling is by far my favorite. Reminds me of my grandmas and mother’s food. Homemade dumplings and the broth tasted great. It’s a complete different texture compared to the frozen ones.
The Noona that worked there was great as well and I observed that all the customers that ordered from there were satisfied as well. When you see empty plates and bowls you know that’s a good sign.
Support this business! :) I got the traditional one. No 7 I believe.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at NEW SEOUL Korean Charcoal B.B.Q., and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, creating a perfect setting for both casual dining and special occasions. The decor beautifully reflects Korean culture, adding to the overall dining experience.
The menu offers a wide variety of authentic Korean dishes, with an impressive selection of meats for the BBQ. Each option is fresh and of high quality, and the marinated choices are particularly delicious. The attentive staff provided excellent recommendations, ensuring that we got the most out of our meal.
One of the highlights was the charcoal grilling, which enhanced the flavor of the meats, creating a delightful smoky aroma that filled the air. The banchan (side dishes) were equally impressive, offering a delightful array of flavors that complemented our main dishes perfectly.
Service was prompt and friendly, with our server checking in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to answer questions added to the overall positive experience.
Overall, NEW SEOUL Korean Charcoal B.B.Q. is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Korean cuisine in a comfortable setting. I highly recommend it to both newcomers and seasoned fans of Korean BBQ alike. I look forward to my next visit!“

“Located in the former Assi Plaza food court and now named Park and Shop (store). Don’t be deceived by its unassuming facade. Wow wow wow truly gourmet.
This place trumps all. The BEST Korean food in Chicago. As a native Korean and avid foodie I hold high standards for Korean cuisine. This joint offers the best favors and uses high quality ingredients of all the places I have been to in the state. The kimchi is homemade, you can tell. It’s so delicious and yet not drenched in salt and sugar, so healthy tasting yet light and flavorful. High quality, authentic, no skimping (generous portions- yay) and even greater prices (what?).
It’s a hole in the wall, mom & pop shop and I can’t get enough of it. I would eat here everyday if I could. I want to give the owner and the cook a big hug, thank you thank you thank you. And please never go away.“

“We’ve tried many Korean restaurants in every city we visit. And, we have tried a lot. By far we can say with confidence that this is one of the best! The vibe is wonderful, its spacious, clean and server are very friendly & helpful. The food is amazing. You can tell they use high quality meats as they just melt in your mouth. The appetizer and all the side dishes are great too. This is definitely a hidden gem in Niles, IL. We’ll definitely visit here again whenever we are in Chicago area.“

“This place is inside Hmart on the side by the checkout registers. The bacon cheese & egg toast was really good. It'd be easier to eat if the bacon was inside the sandwich instead of being right on top but not a big deal. They have corn dogs and tanghulu that alot of other people ordered but I didn't try those.“

As SGD Dubu (so gong dong) can be found in many different locations in IL as it is a franchise restaurant, but! this SGD Dubu place serves the most well prepared and very delicious SGD Dubu soup the way it should taste.
I highly recommend this place and we will definitely visit again!!
Thank you for the delicious food !!
Parking: This location has designated parking space ( shared with H- Mart - a Huge parking lot)“

“I live in oak park and this is the best korean place within a 30 minute radius of us. Im korean so I love traditional korean food which is what this is. i was so happy they had naeungmyun and my partner and i also got kalbi and bulgogi to share. its your traditional homecooked korean which i love but if you arent korean, you may not be used to the flavors. i cant stand americanized korean personally which is most of chicagoland it seems. my partner who is white american doesnt like kimchi and korean miso - but he likes korean bbq. so he loved the bulgogi and kalbi. this place uses charcoal which i like as not many places in the US do this. prices were very reasonable compared to what Im used to. I actually even would call it on the low side compared to my neighborhood. service was fantastic and we are definitely going again.“
“I admire this place! They provide delicious meals, their menu is rich, The chief cook in that restaurant is a real authority in the kitchen, I like very much eating all their dishes. The food is always fresh, the service towards the guests is nice. I frequently visit this restaurant and I not even once was unhappy. Highly recommended.“

“Seoul Bites in Chicago, located in Lombard, offers a different take on Korean one hundred percent halal cuisine. While the flavours were good and the dishes are well prepared, the portions might feel but small considering the price. The soup barely had vegetables/ noodles/ meat. However, the menu has a variety of options that make it worth revisiting to explore for the second experience“
“Come check out these wild wings. delicious a variety of flavors.“

“For me, this is THE best Korean-Chinese spot in Chicago. Sure, there are places like Yu's Mandarin, Chef Ping, Great Sea, Great Beijing, etc but they don't focus only on Korean-chinese food like Lai Lai do, hence in my opinion, Lai Lai serves the best Jajangmyeon and Jjambbong.
Now, Jajangmyeon comes in many varieties, but most people aren't aware of the differences:
Regular Jajangmyeon: All ingredients are stir-fried, then water and starch are added, resulting in a familiar starchy texture with added sugar or salt.
Gan Jajang: Cooked with just oil, it tends to be more oily and has a stronger "fire" taste from longer stir-frying, often more salty.
Uni Jajang: Ingredients are minced, so the dish lacks visible ingredient shapes and texture but brings out most flavor.
Sam seon Jajang (precious ingredients from sky, land, and sea): Originally with expensive items like shrimp, abalone, and pork, now often substituted with squid and cheaper ingredients.
Tray Jajang: Essentially +2 portions of Sam seon Jajang without the expensive ingredients.
I mention this because in Chicago, there are very few places offering these varieties, and even fewer doing it well. No one specializes in it quite like Korea, and the closest I've found to matching Korean taste is regular Jajangmyeon from Lai Lai.
I can also go on about Jjambbong and the chicken as you see on the picture but perhaps on another review...“

“I came Lysle for staying overnight. And found this place where I can eat Korean food. The place was little running down, but the food wasn’t bad. I mean good and price is reasonable. I ordered a yukgaejang since I am by myself. Guess what they brought a small gigym (pan cake) for service. I was pleasantly surprised since it is hard to find this type of service in these days. The service was good I mean they are attentive to the customers. Overall, it was good!“

“It’s a mall food court where every table is dirty and rocks so not a great atmosphere. However the guys working at Kong Dog are very friendly and efficient and they were happy to answer questions and make suggestions. I have never had a Kong Dog but I give it 10/10 and the mango lemonade was delicious combo too! I’ll be back for sure.“

“I never noticed this place and then it just happened to catch my eye. I ordered the Chicken Katsu. It was delicious. The crispiest and best I’ve ever had. Don’t sleep on this place. The seating is a little less than impressive, but not bad. Everyone was very nice, and my order came to me quickly.“

“As a vegetarian, it’s extremely challenging to have options with Korean cuisine. It’s already so thoughtful that Red Wok offers vegetarian options, and even more amazing that it tastes great!!! Recently learned that it’s under new management and staff is so friendly!“

“I have gone to 3 different kong dogs and all were really good, but this place the Kong dogs had too much breading. Usually they are not too thick with the dough but at this location it was. I hope they can fix this so I can go here more often. However the drinks were really good.
Update: Changed from 3 stars to 5 starts. Went back here and they made the Kong dogs really good, less breading and more cheese which is what I’m used to at the other locations. Loved it, so good!“
