The bread and the desserts were wonderful. Lemon sorbet served in a pineapple, how unique! Tiramisu was excellent as was the gelato. Priced reasonably for such good quality. Celeste was our server and she really goes above and beyond to insure everyone has a great experience. Her expertise and friendliness was so appreciated. Really solid, and I appreciate the subtle differences in flavors between the Guatamalan dishes and standard Mexican fare. However, only 4/5 because ordering (in English) was difficult. I tried to get grilled skirt steak and a green chicken enchilada (as a single item, listed that way on the menu) but what was originally brought out was 3 green chicken enchiladas. I explained the issue and thought it was clear but ended up getting brought the chilaquiles. My friend got his pupusas but the dobladas was not brought and had to be ordered again. The food was delicious and I'm not a picky eater so this wasn't a huge deal, but others that need to order a specific thing, in English, may have trouble. I will be back though, and I will brush up on my Spanish.“

“I came to Andy's with some friends after they were shocked that I've never tried it or heard of it. It was on the colder side for a spring night but that didnt stop anyone craving something sweet. I was surprised to see such a long line for the drive thru. But it goes quickly. We decided to park and order at the walk-up window. Depending on where you park you can get blocked in by the drive thru lane. They don't have seating. It is a walk-up order counter. I like the fact that they had heaters in the standing area to help keep you semi warm. There's a lot of different options for mix ins on their menu ranging from sweet to savory. I decided to go with a small concrete butter pecan. The custard is very creamy and it's cool to see it being freshly made. The quality of the pecans really made the concrete. I would definitely stop by Andy's again to try some different creations.“
“We stumbled across this place on our drive back home. The had allot of cool flavors to try. They offer a variety of sizes, including kids scoops for fraction of the price, which had me sold. It's just nice to spend less for little ones that probably won't finish a whole cup. My daughter got cotton candy, my son got super man, I got a large ultimate Oreo shake, and my husband got a regular scoop of the blueberry cheesecake. The service is so fast. They had people coming in and out, but they made sure not to miss anyone. The Inside was so colorful and bright. It gives summer vibes. Really nice find.“
“Fantastic selection and premium products made by "Chocolate Shoppe" out of Wisconsin. The flavors do rotate some, but they usually have non-dairy and sugar free options on hand. Flavors range from traditional (chocolate, vanilla, caramel) to more exotic (blueberry cheesecake, peanut butter cookie dough) and all kinds of creations ("fat Elvis" with banana, peanut butter and chocolate chips or the "exhausted parent" with bourbon, espresso and chocolate chunks)You can get scoops (cones or dish), shakes, sundaes with a large variety of toppings, or the "Scoopzilla", which is something like a dozen scoops, maybe more? We may need to host a party just to try it!The staff are friendly and they really hustle to serve customers quickly. There is no inside seating but there is a large parking lot with ample space or a block north of Palatine Road on Windsor is Lake Arlington so a perfect place to take your ice cream to enjoy.“

“This is my favorite place for frozen yogurt. Over the past 10 years I've visited many locations, all of which started to decline and inevitably close (Glenview, Park Ridge, Deerfield, Mount Prospect). Schaumburg has been the most consistent location over the years. Algonquin was always pretty good too but my last visit the froyo was watery. I know there are Bloomingdale and Downers Grove locations but I haven't been to those. The location is very clean and although there are typically kids running the locations, the store is always well kept and the toppings station is always full and clean. The froyo is always great, and they always have good flavors. Their machines are typically full. And like I've mentioned always consistent. I've been turned off by other froyo shops where the froyo is priced by the ounce and the froyo comes out of the machine like frozen or watery slush and just a small amount weighs a ton, so you're paying more for less, not to mention not enjoyable froyo. The Schaumburg location the consistency of the yogurt is always spot on. It's never watery, too icy/slushy or bland. I truly believe this location takes pride in their shop. I hope they stay in business forever!“

They had a carrot cake cookie that I would say ok for $5 but their regular size cookies for that same price is where I'm not totally sold. Don't get me wrong, they taste really good. I will definitely try them again, but only for their bigger cookies. The strawberry pretzel was my favorite. The carrot cake with a bit more nuts would be awesome, and I'm one of those that wants raisins with carrot cake. My only negative once again is $5 for a regular sized cookie that is delicious.FYI, there are 2 touchscreens on the counter. That is where you order. They were backwards when we went in and there was absolutely no way of knowing until they finally assisted us. So if they are backwards, flip them around and order.“

Why, you might ask, is he reviewing a Dairy Queen?The answer is, I went in for a slush drink, simply fruit juice (lots of sugar) and ice. What I found was they have dairy free and gluten free options.There aren't a lot, but they have some, what I call, "fake ice cream" bars in the freezer case. I had something similar to a Klondike Bar - fake ice cream dipped in dark chocolate on a stick. You know what? I was good. We live about two miles from here and, when I'm at the plaza, I'll stop in again.In the Northwest Suburbs, we need more dairy-free, gluten-free options. A few have sprung up over the years, but this one is very easy to get to.“

The store itself is small but they have so much to offer from ice cream, candies, fudge, caramel apples, etc. It's location is perfectly located in downtown Elmhurst right next to the movie theatre. It was so hard to choose a flavor but I went with the All-American Two Berry Pie. Talk about YUM! The ice cream itself was so creamy and smooth. The texture was absolutely perfect. In the vanilla ice cream, there was a nice blend of strawberry, Blueberry, and sugared pie crust pieces. It was by far one of the best ice cream flavors I have ever had. The only downside is that they are quite pricy. It was $13 and some odd change for 2 single scoops in cake cones. I personally think that is pretty steep and the portion is just average. I cannot wait to come back to try more flavors as I am a ice cream lover!“

For this particular Kilwins, there's only street parking, so there can be a bit of a walk if the downtown gets busy. However, the sign is brightly lit and easy to spot. They offer a wide assortment of desserts, including fudge, caramel apples (made in-house), chocolate-dipped cookies, and of course, ice cream. The worker happily gave us fudge samples which was a nice surprise. I tried the chocolate cherry walnut which was delicious.They had over 20 ice cream flavors to choose from. I had the toasted coconut. The flavor was great, but it was elevated from the bits of crunchy chocolate pieces. Unfortunately, there's no seating available, so you'll have to eat standing inside or find somewhere else outside. Prices are on the higher end, but I'd consider it a gourmet ice cream shop.“
