“My wife, myself, and 2 young kids have been visiting Level Up Cafe & Lounge since they opened. The owners Shawn and Victoria do a great job. The staff is very friendly, they have delicious refreshing protein shakes, smoothies, food, and adult beverages. We absolutely love the atmosphere and free arcade with purchase. There are always young children there whom our kids are always playing with. It’s a great social, playful, and friendly place to be. We highly recommend Cafe Level Up & Lounge for a fun night out!!“

“Brewpoint is a gem in the Western suburbs of Chicago. I am entirely blessed to live blocks from their craft location on York. Exposed brick, chandeliers, and a plant wall surrounds you - a grateful reprieve from cookie cutter Starbucks decor. Coffee, matcha, and baked goods are top notch (haven't tried cocktails or charcuterie yet). A wonderful mix of professionals, college students, community organizers, and socially conscious suburban moms escaping the kids (I'm sure I'm missing wonderful others). Sometimes I'm not sure how I manage to keep living in the suburbs when the city is still home for me after 10 years in Elmhurst, but Brewpoint certainly makes it easier.“

“Pretty good coffee served via a walk up window. Nothing wrong with it, just many places for good coffee in the area and not the best one.

Update: The owner asked whose coffee we preferred. We thought Pedestrian Coffee and Brew Brew were probably the best we had this trip.“

“OMG WOW! Amazing bakery! I go to tons of bakeries & I think this is the best one in Oak Park & one of the best in Chicagoland! I LOVED everything I tried from the cookies, to muffins to scones. Super high quality & extremely fresh products. Some of the pastries were still warm from the oven as I got there right at 8 am when they open. Even then, there was a little line out the door. Many people got coffee drinks but I didn’t this time. They also have $2 wonky cookies (just weirdly shaped cookies) that are a great deal. I tried: chocolate chip cookie, banana bread, vegan chocolate muffin (extra delish), goat cheese chili scone (excellent) & the wonky birthday cookie (amazing & buttery - melts in your mouth). Can’t wait to go back & try other things! Please note the place is tiny with only a few tables & chairs & there’s metered street parking so I took my order to go.

10.25.24 update: the kale salad done is truly amazing! The toasted coconut cake was sooo good and the chiffon cake was delightful. The savory corn biscuit was good but I preferred the scone, which is totally worth traveling for.“

After a few minutes of huffing and puffing around, seemingly overwhelmed, she walked up to the register and took our order without saying hi or making eye contact. Maybe get a second register so that the person that is supposed to be kindly greeting people isn’t so overwhelmed and unattentive?

These are really good!” Service was quick and for me got the order correct. They got it down on how a churro is suppose to taste and the texture crispy outside soft inside but not gooey like it wasn’t cooked all the way. They are utmost fantastic hot but they are just as enjoyable cool/cold. There are not many at all that can past that test. I got plain churros cause I’m not a fan of them having stuff inside BUT based on how the plain one taste I am tempted to try all the flavors!! “I am pretty critical of boba as there are so many places that pop up and fall short. I was honestly very impressed with palgong and have nothing but good things to say.
1) we arrived an hour before closing, and the tapioca was still fresh with a good chew (already winning in my book!)
2) they had a great selection of flavors, but more importantly, they offered the classic flavors like regular milk tea which had the perfect amount of ice & sweetness.
3) the Korean corn dogs are made in house which I thought was so cool! They are 100% beef which is appreciated since I don’t eat pork. It was fried to perfection and dressed with yummy sauces.
4) they had some fun activities, there was a wall of claw machines that you could buy tokens to play and another side that had some free family games like jenga and connect four.
5) Lastly, and one of the most important points; it was very clean inside like surprisingly clean. The tables did not have crumbs or anything sticky, the bathroom was spotless.
I love when establishment pays attention to large & small details, it is very aesthetically decorated . I will definitely be back when I’m in the area and highly recommend to anyone looking for some good bubble tea!

The price was fair and the machine works great. I was exhausted and asked if he could make me a cup of coffee and he even happily made me a double espresso to go. He is a sweet, humble, good man. The facility is quite impressive too. I'm a fan!...and I forgot to say...Cafe Carioca is some of the best tasting espresso around.“

My husband ordered ‘la toxica’ and he said it was made with authentic horchata. I had the mazapan latte and it was so good.l was pleasantly impressed that it was not overly sweet but had the rich peanut flavor. Glad to have found this place close to our lodging!“
