“Our experience here was overall good! Ambience was great, food was delicious, but some service definitely needs a little help. Our waitress approached us 3 times within 10 mins asking if we were ready to order when we had advised we were waiting on two more at the table. Once our full party arrived, she took an extremely long time to approach us again and ask for their drinks orders and our food orders. When she finally came around she was very short and stern and the overall conversation was very rushed. Nonetheless the host and the older gentleman refilling our water at the table really went above and beyond with their service so shout out to them!“

“We have discovered this place 3 years ago when we are searching for an outdoor casual dining. What we found was a great place that had outdoor seating on a deck patio with umbrellas and a TV set to watch sporting events. The service was friendly, and the food was great. The drinks were very reasonable. The menu was large having everything from sandwiches to dinners. We never had a bad experience there and brought family and friends to enjoy the evening sitting outside. We always come back.“

“First time eating at Greenwood. The food was very good. We ordered calamari, which tasted unique in a good way, with the chopped marinated veggies. The beef filet was melt in your mouth tender. The only complaint is it was too salty. Brussels sprouts were also delicious.

The old fashion and manhattan were well made. It was a nice touch that the waiter asked us what bourbon or whiskey we wanted them made with.

We reserved in the dining room and the hostess could not find our reservation. We offered to show it to her, and she said no need , then put us at the very corner of the patio which was noisy, with uncomfortable chairs. For the first 15 min there was no one on the patio of in the restaurant. We couldn’t hear each other over the street traffic.

“I grew up on Super dawg and had to visit on my Chicagoland visit. I was staying closer to the Wheeling location in the Northwest suburbs. They have a true Chicago dog, with neon green relish, sport peppers and poopy seed bun. It was a treat to also find a pickled green tomato.

On the downside, hot dogs seemed smaller and definitely less crinkle fries, in. A smaller box. Perhaps next time I will order just the hot dog and a side of fries as a better value and more fries. They have more food options available for those that aren't into hot dogs. A nostalgic place to visit.

Parking: Plenty of parking at Wheeling location. Limited at Chicago/original location.“

“Staff is always friendly and answer any of your questions. The popsicles come in even more flavors than the already vast ice cream choices. Just beware that some of the popsicles taste icy or have weak flavor. The ones that have cream/milk inside are much better.“

“This was my first time in Glencoe to watch a show at Writer’s Theater, and I stopped by this place for a meal before the show. It seems to be the only Chinese restaurant in the entire town and also one of the few places both open at night and relatively affordable.

My friend and I ordered the Walnut Shrimp Special and Sauteed Green Beans. We were told it would take 30 minutes, so we sat inside to wait, and the food came out right on time and piping hot. You can’t dine in the restaurant though, as they don’t have a dining license.

9 times out of 10, Chinese takeout will always hit for me, and Shanghai Garden was no exception. The green beans were flavorful and well-sauteed. The walnut shrimp had a nice crispy texture, tangy taste, and also came with broccoli and crispy noodle pieces.

The portions are large for the price and they also included a large box of rice with our order. For just $15 per person, we had a good amount of leftovers. Overall great value, tasty food, generous portions, friendly service— I would love to return if I’m in the area again!

“Great place for groups and our server, Zaire, was simply excellent! A large menu with large portions. We had a wide variety of dietary preferences in our group - basically a bunch of picky eaters in different ways - and everyone found something they were happy with. I can’t describe the ambiance and wonderful products. You need to experience on your own. My favorite so far is the LoveABowl. Enjoy on site or to go. Get Bright Butter, Bright Granola and Bright Smiles. Tell the staff Larry sent you. Hmmmm“
