“One of the more requested playplaces by my children
Kid-friendliness: Some of the tables are interactive, color changing circles when you touch them. The play area is nice, a tall tower for kids to look out from. It's a nice place for parents to relax and feel safe with their kids playing at.“

“What a delightful place! They have Beacon Donuts and vegan bagels, with vegan cream cheese from Good Planet (as well as vegan butter, peanut butter, and jam) - my two perfect breakfast foods. The blackberry beignet was good, though I would've liked it warmed up a bit. I got the tendrils tea, a matcha lemonade, and it's a great balance of the two. I'm obsessed with the kitschy movie vibe, especially the sandworm from Beetlejuice coming out of the ceiling.“

“An ideal lunch sandwich shop features fresh, thinly sliced ingredients layered with zesty horseradish mayo, and quick service (about 3 minutes for me without a line). I had the #3 Roast Beef, a 9" sandwich that’s ample for two meals. The chewy bread and herbal dressing are delicious.
While waiting, guests can indulge in some coffee; the cold brew offers a rich, chocolate taste with no acidity, making it enjoyable whether served black or with cream.
The space includes 4 small tables and is more suited for takeout or a casual lunch date rather than large gatherings. Treat yourself!“

“The pastries are very delicious! I have a variety of them. They are some of the best I have had in unexpected combinations. The latte I had was floral and balanced. It was a Lavender Latte. If you love coffee and pastries, you do not want to miss out on this experience. Cafe Calida has a selection that is full of flavor that is truly sure to delight. “Portage Grounds is my favorite local coffee shop! The staff are awesome, the coffee is great, and the shop itself is welcoming. They have a cozy couch spot by the fireplace, individual window stools if you prefer to work solo, and even a conference room if you want to hang with a group. Cute little outdoor patio as well. Great location. Can't speak on the food as I've never eaten there.
Parking: Parking is difficult here simply because it's on Irving Park next to the park and the gym. Sometimes you can find a spot but often the closest option is illegal/flasher parking, or over a block away“

“The rise of Yemeni Tea Cafés has thrust Muslim communities into the spotlight and offers a safe space for young people to socialize and avoid the negative influences of society, such as clubs and casinos. Qahwah House, the original and most well-known of these cafés, has served as a model for the many other Muslim cafés that have opened across the region.“

“The largest of the BlackBerry Market installations and the one I gravitate towards the most; while both the Glen Ellyn and LaGrange locations are charming, the Oak Brook building is more impressive, with higher ceilings, a gorgeous amount of light due to the ample windows, and a great mix of different seating options. I’ve been to BlackBerry market to simply grab a quick bite after running errands in the area, but I’ve also come here with a larger group of friends for relaxed brunch. No matter the occasion, I’ve never been disappointed with the food! It hits every time— my special shoutout goes to the Italian Wedding Soup, as well as the Chicken Avocado Club! I always gravitate towards those dishes and they never let me down.“

“Always a good sign when they're serving espresso and tonic. The barista was super helpful and engaged with my random questions about the shop. Thanks :)
Grabbed a cup of the tonic and even got a free drip cup with my bag of Songwe, Tanzania. Happy with it all 👌
Well known spot that services the area with their roasting.
The one downside for me is the location. It's a little rough and there's graffiti all over the windows.“

“Brewpoint is a gem in the Western suburbs of Chicago. I am entirely blessed to live blocks from their craft location on York. Exposed brick, chandeliers, and a plant wall surrounds you - a grateful reprieve from cookie cutter Starbucks decor. Coffee, matcha, and baked goods are top notch (haven't tried cocktails or charcuterie yet). A wonderful mix of professionals, college students, community organizers, and socially conscious suburban moms escaping the kids (I'm sure I'm missing wonderful others). Sometimes I'm not sure how I manage to keep living in the suburbs when the city is still home for me after 10 years in Elmhurst, but Brewpoint certainly makes it easier.“

“Food: I got the breakfast sandwich with the gluten-free English muffin. I was impressed they had this option and then they could remove the cheese because they assemble it there. I do wish it had some kind of sauce or something as it was a bit dry, but overall, it was a good sandwich and usually I’m not a big fan of breakfast sandwiches cause I think the egg can be questionable
Drink: oat miel was very good!
Atmosphere: cute and I love that they have games to play
Dietary restrictions: Easy to make sandwich dairy and gluten free“

“I went there today to get a flavored latte and was very pleasantly surprised that I could actually taste the espresso in it; it's such a rare occurrence but to me it's the mark of a good latte. The staff are also very friendly there. Highly recommend for coffee lovers.“

“A stylish coffee spot with an industrial-meets-art space vibe. Their coffee offering is phenomenal, featuring specialty beans from roasters around the world, and I love that you get a complimentary drip coffee with bean purchases (far better than most standard drip offerings). Their Totoro latte is also worth trying, featuring a delightful blend of coconut and sesame for a refreshing and satisfying treat
The cafe is conveniently located right off the 606 trail. The space itself has a minimalist ambience, with plenty of room to spread out and a cool artist loft tucked in the back. A very cool spot to check out for coffee lovers.“

“Pretty good coffee served via a walk up window. Nothing wrong with it, just many places for good coffee in the area and not the best one.
Update: The owner asked whose coffee we preferred. We thought Pedestrian Coffee and Brew Brew were probably the best we had this trip.“

“OMG WOW! Amazing bakery! I go to tons of bakeries & I think this is the best one in Oak Park & one of the best in Chicagoland! I LOVED everything I tried from the cookies, to muffins to scones. Super high quality & extremely fresh products. Some of the pastries were still warm from the oven as I got there right at 8 am when they open. Even then, there was a little line out the door. Many people got coffee drinks but I didn’t this time. They also have $2 wonky cookies (just weirdly shaped cookies) that are a great deal. I tried: chocolate chip cookie, banana bread, vegan chocolate muffin (extra delish), goat cheese chili scone (excellent) & the wonky birthday cookie (amazing & buttery - melts in your mouth). Can’t wait to go back & try other things! Please note the place is tiny with only a few tables & chairs & there’s metered street parking so I took my order to go.
10.25.24 update: the kale salad done is truly amazing! The toasted coconut cake was sooo good and the chiffon cake was delightful. The savory corn biscuit was good but I preferred the scone, which is totally worth traveling for.“

“what a great coffee shop!! I am visiting from Portland, OR and obviously have an obnoxious pretention about coffee... Vigo coffee is absolutely great. I've been looking for a good coffee shop to work from in oak park and this exceeds expectations. the coffee is SO GOOD, and I absolutely love that this coffee shop is set up as the most comfortable co-working space + art gallery (?!??!!). as if it couldn't get any better, we absolutely love the authentic Mexican culture and flavors available here. really great selection of savory and sweet baked goods that will keep you full and focused all day. I will definitely be back here to work whenever I'm in oak park.
Vegetarian options: lots of savory and sweet baked options that will sustain you.
Kid-friendliness: lots of games available meant for little ones, like guess who, connect 4, Jenga and uno!“

“Great service both at the drive thru and curbside service
Vegetarian options: This is not a vegetarian/vegan friendly place.
Wheelchair accessibility: They do have plenty of handicap spots but their entrances are not handicap friendly. They have one that is, but it's not labeled nor are there instructions at the other entrances to let you know about it. So e restaurant have this entrance right by the drive thru making it hazardous for handicap folks in mobility devices to use the entrance. The other 2 entrances are offset doors in a vestibule that makes it really challenging if you are by yourself in a mobility device. Neither of the doors are powered doors.“
