“This is my husband’s and my favorite breakfast stop while traveling from Illinois to Tennessee. Why can’t other McDonald’s be just as good? We always have freshly baked breakfast sandwiches with efficient and friendly service. Real clean too. Look forward to another visit on our next trip.“

“The food was great and the service was quick as well! Great atmosphere and good people. Our fav was the Knockout Burger but a close second was the Hot Chick. The wings were crispy and juicy albeit a little on the sweeter side for a mango habanero. Over all loved the food and will be coming back for more!

“Outstanding. Saw a post on Insta and happened to be cruising through Palatine so I decided to form my own opinion. I’m certainly glad I stopped. Everything was on point. Burger was so good. I’m not normally down with waffle fries but these were great. Nice and crispy and the seasoning wasn’t over powering. I also did the Oreo shake because why not! I will definitely be coming back cuz I’m curious how the chicken sandwich is. Seriously a great smash burger and worth the money imo. Staff was great, friendly and upbeat. The whole place was nice and clean. Love the vibe with the 60’s diner music. Cheers Reps!

“This was my first time trying this place, and it’s like Chipotle but with a Korean twist.

It’s refreshing to have a spot where the food is fresh and served quickly. The staff is super friendly.

“I grew up on Super dawg and had to visit on my Chicagoland visit. I was staying closer to the Wheeling location in the Northwest suburbs. They have a true Chicago dog, with neon green relish, sport peppers and poopy seed bun. It was a treat to also find a pickled green tomato.

On the downside, hot dogs seemed smaller and definitely less crinkle fries, in. A smaller box. Perhaps next time I will order just the hot dog and a side of fries as a better value and more fries. They have more food options available for those that aren't into hot dogs. A nostalgic place to visit.

Parking: Plenty of parking at Wheeling location. Limited at Chicago/original location.“

If you know lake forest, you know it’s a town that takes pride in its history and tradition, and no place exemplifies this history and tradition quite like left bank. This modest little hot dog place has been operating for over 60 years at the same location in market square! New owners in the past couple of years have also done an excellent job of honoring this rich history by returning to the original recipes served in the 60s! Left bank is one of those spots that all the lake forest locals have been coming to their entire lives. Whether you’re in town for college, are just passing through, or even if you’ve lived in the area your whole life, you absolutely have to give these incredible hot dogs a try—careful though, because you’re bound to end up hooked just like myself and everyone else who’s had the privilege of tasting the delicious options available at left bank.
