“Being from the suburbs traveling downtown can be an experience. This particular experience made our day. Moving our daughter into DePaul we came upon the owner of Red Light chicken who gave us a few pointers in parking near his establishment, after taking the time to help us find a spot he happily welcomed us with a free chicken sandwich which I’m happy to report was delicious. It was nice meeting you tonight and I’ll be certainly stopping by again - Fries are a game changer to!!!“

“We’ve been here a few times and every time the food is awesome. Super easy and healthy dinner option when don’t want to cook. We love the whole jefe chicken and order with broccoli, Mac and cheese, and fries (the seasoning for the fries is awesome). Service is great and the music they play is always top tier. They definitely lean more on their sandwiches and biscuits - but I think it’s noteworthy that their chicken is so much better than most of their direct competitors.“

“Edit: I was able to call the restaurant about 9 days later. They opened late the day I ordered online, but the online system did not have the updated hours. I was able to get the refund from the restaurant. (Be aware that the restaurant does not always pick up the phone… might be better to visit them in person if you want to ask them a question.)

Ordered online on Thursday around 4pm. Restaurant was closed, and no one picked up the phone. Same thing today (Friday) at 2:30pm. I will be calling my credit card company to cancel the transaction.“

“I finally tried CM after years of walking by it and it was fantastic. I walked in and ordered the Curry Chicken to go. Took about 10 minutes and I sat down at the bar for a beer while I waited. Service was great and will definitely be going back.“

“Whenever I see a Browns Chicken when driving around I try to stop in and order some wings. This Browns was good. I think the wings may have been from earlier lunch batch. I stopped in at odd time, 3:30 pm. So they weren't super fresh but still good and great crusty, flavorfull coating. Biscuit and side of slaw was also good. Price was reasonable. $11 for 4 wings, 1 side, biscuit, drink and tax. Interior was clean including windows, counters, floor chairs and tables. I think they need their drains cleaned out though based on slight smell. I'd eat there again.“

“Stopped by Chick-fil-A in the Irving Park/Addison area while passing through Chicago. Like most Chick-fil-A locations, the food itself was good and consistent — the chicken sandwich was fresh, crispy, juicy, and exactly what you expect from the brand. The waffle fries were hot and well seasoned, and the service moved relatively quickly despite the restaurant being quite busy. Staff were polite and professional, which is something Chick-fil-A usually does better than most fast-food chains.

That said, the experience was disappointing overall because the bathroom was closed during our visit. When you’re traveling, especially with kids and family, access to a restroom is not a small issue — it becomes part of the overall customer experience. After driving around the city and stopping specifically to eat and take a break, finding out the washroom was unavailable was frustrating and inconvenient. There didn’t seem to be much communication around it either, which made it even more disappointing.

The restaurant itself appeared fairly clean and organized, and you could tell the staff were trying to keep up with the flow of customers. But for such a high-traffic location, basic amenities really matter. It changes how comfortable and welcoming the experience feels, especially for families, travelers, or anyone stopping in during a long day.

I’ll still say the food quality and customer service were better than many other fast-food places, which is why I’m not giving it a lower rating. But the closed restroom definitely impacted the visit enough to bring the overall experience down.

The store itself is very clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized, making it easy to find what you need. They offer an impressive and diverse selection of products, including a wide range of alcohol, wines, and various beverages to suit different preferences.

One of the standout features is their hot food section. They serve freshly prepared items such as Krispy Krunchy chicken, shrimp, mac and cheese, and a particularly flavorful jambalaya. The mashed potatoes with gravy and white rice with beans were also very satisfying and well-prepared.

In addition to the quality of products and food, the pricing is very reasonable, offering great value for the overall experience. This combination of excellent customer service, cleanliness, variety, and affordability makes this store a top choice. I will definitely be returning and would encourage others to visit as well. Let me not forget, JjPeppers on Addison and Central also has an ATM machine to make it convenient for customers… plus Gaming Machines for those that enjoy playing. No more public nuisance like it used to be with previous management.
