“I recently got married at age 70. When searching for a caterer, my new husband and I knew exactly what we wanted for our mid- morning ceremony & reception. A delicious seated brunch buffet with options for various dietary needs was our top choice. I'm the bride and am vegan and gluten-free. The majority of our guests were not, but some had certain sensitivities. We also had a budget to work within.

When we met Erin from Catered by Design, we knew we had found the perfect caterer! Erin listened to our needs rather than offering us a package. She then wrote a proposal and waited for us to comment. When we had a menu that sounded right, she offered us a complimentary tasting. From the first bite, we knew that Catered by Design was the perfect choice.

Erin had worked with our Venue many times and her team could help with everything from set up to tear down on our Big Day.

Erin showed up during set up to make sure everything was going according to plan. She was professional, compassionate and easy to communicate with during our entire planning process.

Once we received the list of our preferred vendors and began reaching out to them, Sue from Butter and Vine immediately stood out to us. She was warm, friendly, informative, and hilarious. “SBR Event Catering is absolute perfection! We used them for our May 2026 wedding at Lincoln Farmstead, and they exceeded every expectation while remaining incredibly reasonable in price. I worked closely with Meghann Streicher to build our entire wedding day plan. She helped coordinate our timeline, cocktail hour, drinks, dinner, and dessert. Throughout months of planning, Meghann and her team were responsive, encouraging, and full of great ideas—without ever being pushy when we were indecisive. On the big day, our event director, Nate, was an absolute superstar. His calm presence instantly put us at ease. He is a true professional who kept everything running flawlessly. I loved that his staff quietly visited each table to dismiss guests for the buffet. This kept the atmosphere intimate and didn't interrupt the dinner music from our DJ (Windy City Sound). The food was spectacular—delicious, perfectly cooked, and served at the ideal temperature. Our guests raved about it! SBR was incredibly thoughtful with the details. They provided kids' meals with fruit cut into cute shapes, and they even reminded us to order vendor meals (which I had totally forgotten). “Awesome little bakery! I wanted to try a black forest cake - which I can't say for sure I'd ever tasted before - before possibly attempting to make one for myself. After some Googling, scrutinizing reviews, and learning that this place is located only ~20 minutes away from me, I set my sights and was not disappointed. I ordered the smallest one, which is plenty big for only me and proved to be delicious! I hope to return in due time to try the Gateaux au Chocolat. Also picked up a slice of cheese cake for my mom, who said that it was delicious and had a lemon tang.

While I'm glad that I went on a Sunday, the parking lot isn't _that_ small. Yes, there is a sushi place next door, and it probably fills up during peak service hours. But there's even more parking a stone's throw away. I've been to dine-in restaurants on the North side with less parking, lol.“
