“Yesterday I took the Sourdough Breadmaking Class with Chef George at The Ancestral Oven and I just pulled an amazing loaf of bread out of my home oven 24 hours later! Chef George provided all the necessary instruction and supplies - including a lively starter - for students to start their own sourdough journey at home. The class included hands-on experience feeding the starter, as well as folding and shaping the dough. I had a great time at the class and can't wait to return to try out the breakfast and lunch menu at The Ancestral Oven Bakery and Cafe.“

We asked for cannoli filling on the bottom layer and she offered Dubai pistachio on the top layer and the cake was delicious! They were great with communication when other bakeries failed to do so. “I usually order the chicken pomodori and the tomato soup when I visit the restaurant. They're both really good. Today I didn't want to get out of bed so I ordered through Grubhub. The driver drove in a direction that passed my house and parked there for a while. I called him and he didn't answer. I text him and told him to answer his phone. He did and told me he was fixing his tire. What!? I don't know what exactly this man was doing with my food in his car. When I got my food, I noticed it was not secured, no sticker or staple. BEWARE!!!! Corner Bakery Cafe do not secure your food. That driver had access to my paninis and soups. I was afraid to eat the food especially after he abruptly ended our conversation. The way the world is today, shame on Corner Bakery Cafe for allowing strangers access to my meals. He could have spit in it, put his tongue and who knows what else in it. I worked it out with Grubhub and went to the restaurant to inquire about basically giving strangers open food to give to their paying customers. The manager, Kendra listened, was open and very receptive. I was giving three stars but because of her I'm giving four.“

“I got the abuelita tres leches cake. The best tres leches cake I’ve had in the city. Flavor and texture of the slice were phenomenal. Also tried out the horchata latte which was also very delicious. I can't find a single negative thing to say, aside from wishing I'd bought more! Friendly folks at and behind the counter. The ham and cheese croissants were amazing as was the mushroom Danish! I don't even particularly like BLTs, but theirs was lovely! The almond, strawberry, and chocolate croissants (that's three separate things...) were out of this world! Welcome! “We drove over an hour to get here, not knowing that whole cakes are only sold by pre-order. The gentle was kind enough to sell me one that was ready for an order that would be picked much later. That gave them enough time to get another prepared.

The cake was just a traditional 3 Leches cake. It was perfectly moist throughout the cake. The frosting was not too thick nor too sweet. I would have loved to try one of the others flavors.

It is a little small and expensive when compared to other bakeries. The quality and taste makes up for the added cost
cost.“

Unless they were sitting due to the new everyday flavors. Which its about time crumble. Try the pink icing cookie, love it. Be ready for a sugar rush, possibly too much. Very affordable too, esp if you bring cash to avoid the credit card fee. The curry bun, hot dog bun, coconut custard bun, egg tarts, sugar top buns like matcha crack top, are our standard orders. They make a good customizable iced coffee (e.g., can get it with no sweetener) too. We have never had anything that isn’t fresh.“
