“Friendly and fantastic service! The menu has a great range to choose from, prices were reasonable for the quality and portions you get, and the food arrived quickly as well!

There was also a promotional meal that was absolutely delicious! Happy hour was an unexpected and pleasant surprise (Mon-Fri 2-5 PM) and my son was treated incredibly well for his birthday!

“A perfect hole-in-the-wall ramen place in Edgewater. It’s tiny. They have no air conditioning. But their food is genuinely good from broth to tofu. Despite being a ramen place, their curry was just as awesome. This is a perfect spot on a rainy or snowy date night. Highly recommended.“

“I had been craving ramen for most of my trip. I originally wanted to make it to Ramen Wasabi, but I never quite found the time. In the end, Takumi Ramen turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

I ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen and the Harami beef skewer. The ramen was fantastic. The broth was rich and satisfying, and the chashu pork, soft-boiled egg, and bamboo shoots were exactly what I needed after spending the day walking through Forest Park and Pilsen.

The Harami was equally impressive. Simple, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful—everything you’d want from a grilled beef skewer.

The atmosphere was another highlight. Cozy, quiet, and comfortable, it felt like the perfect place to recharge after a long day of exploring. Whether you’re eating alone or with a group, it’s an easy place to settle in and enjoy a great meal.“

If you love ramen and you are on a budget visit this restaurant Monday thru Friday during their lunch hour and try the ramen set which even has a vegetarian option if you don't like meat. I always get a donburi bowl 🥣 or raw salmon don and tuna bowl. The portions here are extremely generous and the taste and presentation is also excellent. I love the house made sodas here and the furikake French fries. The fries 🍟 are addictive--be warned 😋“

“This is a very nice restaurant for ramen. The tonkotsu ramen with the bone broth tastes amazing. You can tell they put real effort into making it authentic. The staff are very friendly and cooperative when you ask for extra things like a slice of lemon for your fried appetizer or extra napkins. The decor is Japanese-cute. My only concern is the public environment outside the restaurant. The area near the Wilson/Sheridan corner smells very foul in summer time. There is visible defecation on the sidewalks, more likely from humans instead of pets. I would suggest to the business owners in the area to band together, cooperate, and powerwash the sidewalks of the surrounding area frequently and petition the city and state law enforcement to diligently enforce all existing public health ordinances. I would also support the state legislature if they criminalize public defecation, urination, smoking, drinking, yelling, fighting in public, etc. with severe punishments and, ideally, send all those riffraff to prisons outside of this country for life. I know it is a fantasy, but wouldn't it be nice to have a clean, sanitary, and safe neighborhood for such a nice restaurant? At the minimum, more powerwashing of the public spaces within a 3-4-block radius outside of the restaurant, at least once a week, would be nice. I sympathize with the business owners, but they also have a greater voice with the city and state authorities. Please use that voice to clean up the neighborhood around you, and I guarantee I will be at the restaurant almost every week.“

Yes, you can still eat good, late. The Japanese food here is to be enjoyed in their izakaya vibes, which are casual pubs that you can grab lots of small dishes to sample. Honorable mention to the Chicken Curry Ramen and Taiyaki with ice cream - my two favorite items from my visit! I also had a really good Mai Tai and lychee martini. “Best Sushi Restaurant on the planet. Not only was all the food superior than any other Sushi restaurant I've been to. My family and I had a feast.(I mean all the food was good). Very reasonable prices as well. The most astonishing fact about this restaurant was the host (Quam) his amazing knowledge of food and customer service was unlike any other. The Ice cream desert was mind blowing. You don't have to take my word for it, but I guarantee you, you won't find another Sushi restaurant in the city of Chicago as good this one. The ambiance of this establishment is very warm and pleasant. I highly recommend this place for family gatherings, and with people you want to share a special food feast with. “I decided to check out this local ramen restaurant which is right next to Thorndale train station. I ordered the Tonkotsu spicy ramen and I must say it was delicious.

The only critique is that I only got 2 pieces of meat, and the bowl did not have much veggies in it like your average ramen spot. However, it was pretty good and I’ll definitely visit again.“

“I dined at Neko Sushi and tried their tuna and avocado fried rolls, and they are the reason I’ve already been back three times in the past two weeks since finding this neighborhood gem. My fiancé ordered the shrimp in a blanket and they were perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I had the ramen both times and it was absolutely delicious. My fiancé tried the pad thai with shrimp on one visit and the basil shrimp fried rice on another, and both dishes were full of flavor and so satisfying. “I ordered from here on Uber Eats and the driver gave me the wrong order. Uber was giving me issues and I was having trouble getting a refund. The manager actually called uber for me and was able to get me a refund from uber. He called me back to inform me and I was very grateful! “When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I thought I would never be able to eat at some of my favorite restaurants again. While this is true for most restaurants, it’s not true for YATAI. They are very knowledgeable about how to prepare their dishes in a safe, gluten free way without cross contamination, and it makes me feel safe and comfortable eating out again. If you call, they can tell you what they can make gluten free, and if you use the Uber Eats allergy function, they will let you know if anything you ordered can’t be made gluten free (but I recommend calling first). Their food is delicious, and I can say that with all of their considerations surrounding my dietary restrictions, they will have a regular customer for life!!“
