“I was looking for a place that serves good pasta dishes, and I found it: Joey's Pizzeria.The chicken limone is to die for! They give you plenty of food (2 breast cutlets), which comes with salad, garlic bread, your choice of pasta, and potatoes. I had a hard time finishing all that food, but I couldn't stop. That's how good it was! Plenty of flavor and seasoning, my palate did a dance with each bite! Reasonably priced, too!Can't wait to try the pizza.“

“A hidden gem! The interior of the restaurant is so surprising and delightful when you enter. We ate near the fireplace. We started with their house salad and homemade crusty warm bread - great beginning! Husband had Chicken Parmigiana and I had Chicken Chantel - both were truly delicious. Excellent service. “We went here for a birthday celebration, with eight people. There weren't many people in (we went early) and our waiter was wonderful, giving suggestions when asked. They bring warm bread to start, with olive oil and parm on the table. The olive oil isn't seasoned, for those who like that. Bread is delicious. We had appetizers of caprese salad, vesuvio fries and bruschetta. Portions were pretty good. Bruschetta is excellent, great flavor and large tomato and cheese topping. Caprese was also good. The fries were not, coated in some kind of gravy/oil and very salty. Our entrees ranged from the vodka rigatoni (both GF and regular), seafood paella, gnocchi (outstanding), salad and clams. Everything was great, although the Caesar salad comes dressed with a LOT of dressing. They bring out a dessert tray for you to choose and have several choices. Almost everyone got the limoncello dessert and loved it. This might be the best I've ever had. We also had the death by chocolate and the carrot cake, which were also great.Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian choices and they are good about taking meat out of a dish when possible.Dietary restrictions: They offer to switch pasta dishes for gluten free pasta for a $3 upcharge. The GF rigatoni vodka was really good. The GF options are clearly noted on the menu.Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu and they are always friendly with the kids (ages 7 and 9).“

“I always thought Pop's had the best Italian Beef (yes, even ahead of Portillo's). I deducted a star simply because of the outlandish prices..everything is more expensive nowadays. It's unfortunate we pay over $13 for a small sandwich, fries & a drink that cannot fill you up..but oh well, this is the state of our world economy!“

From the hostess to our waitress and everyone in between... it was a flawless meal.Between us all, I believe EVERYONE wound up with leftovers to take home. And in a shocking twist? Everyone in my family demolished their leftovers in a day. Seriously, that could be the end of the review.I personally had tortellini alfredo and a caesar side salad. My wife had sausage and peppers. My youngest kids had spaghetti. My older two had cheese-stuffed breadsticks and chicken fingers.On the ride home, my 7 year old son asked... “I’ve been going to Ottimo’s for several years now. Loved the restaurant but The quality and overall experience has been changing. The quality of the food isn’t there so much, the portions have gotten a bit smaller and there are always new servers, that need more training. Not sure if there’s new owners or mgmt but definitely a change. A couple years ago I would’ve given Ottimos a 5/5 but now it’s about half of that as a rating. Last night went for dinner with the family- the bread that was brought to the table was more like croutons because it was over cooked and somewhat hard, it should have never been served. We asked for more bread and the server came back to the table and said not much longer it’s coming out of the oven now. 10mins later he came to the table and asked if we needed anything I mentioned the bread and he said if yeah let me check. The server asst came to refill water and asked if we needed more bread m, I said yes please. Well after all that the bread never came. The O/O on the table tasted stale, or maybe a cheaper brand than normally served. One ordered the walleye special in lemon butter sauce, the sauce was a dark color tasted a bit burnt, very expensive for the size of the piece that was served and served with nothing else. Usually served with risotto- can suggest a side of pasta or even a side salad. Was not worth it. We ordered bruschetta- was bland, and again whom ever was cooking the bread toasted this bread to a crostini. Was very excited when Ottimos opened, loved that it was very close to traditional Italian food, and local (without having to drive to the City to Little Italy)! But sadly I do not feel the same so much lately. Bring back the way you use to be when first opened! Would love to visit that again!“
