“My son and his wife live in downtown Plainfield and started going to Great Wall and told us they liked the food better than the restaurant that we frequented for 20+ years on the south side of Plainfield. Last night, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. I had the Beef with Garlic Sauce and Onions. It was packed with beef and I asked for it to be extra-spicy and they delivered on the heat. The garlic sauce was a lot like the one I remember as a kid from a restaurant we went to a lot in Chinatown. My wife had Pork and Pan Fried noodles and it was equally delicious. We opted for large servings and got dinner last night and lunch today out of it so basically two meals out of each portion. The staff was cordial and gracious. We are both looking forward to trying more of the menu items. I highly recommend you give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.“

“I had the General Tso's chicken today in the lunch special. the portion size is very good I don't think there is anyone out there who would leave hungry. Enjoy the flavor of the General Tso's chicken and the fried rice. The employees were also kind and friendly.“

Walnut shrimp: tasted good.
Kung pao chicken: Tasted nice. Was a little too spicy
Orange chicken: was nice more on the average on taste and flavor
Fried rice: tasted good and fresh
Noodles: didn’t like the taste of noodles. Was more bland.“

“Lao Sichuan has the most authentic and consistently amazing Chinese food to be found anywhere in the U.S. Having spent some time living in China while I was in undergrad, there are certain flavors that I crave, which your run of the mill American style Chinese restaurant will not have. My wife and I live in St Charles and make the 1 hour 20 minute round trip at least once a week to get our fix. The food is that good. The owner is seemingly always there, and obviously genuinely cares about ensuring quality in what is served every time. Our favorites are Chengdu Style King Pao Chicken, Ma Po Tofu, Beef in Pure Cumin Powder, Toothpicks Lamb, and the Xiao Long Bao. I cannot for the life of me fathom how this restaurant does not have a higher rating. It is the best. Try it. You won't regret it.“

“Great tasting Chinese food especially the shrimp fried rice with egg rolls made just right and prepared properly. The staff here is very nice and welcoming. They also have slot machines like most restaurants in the area. You can order on apps like Uber Eats or just call the restaurant direct for pickup or delivery in the area. Plenty of parking and right across the street from the community college.“
