“Listen this food is just too good. I hate meal prep (and cooking tbh) but wanted to eat better. I felt so lucky to find Bri and her team-- the food they make is magic and I swear to gods they trick me into eating more veggies all the time. And then the comfort food? The fried rice and the Mac n cheese and the jerk wings (even the vegan Mac n cheese, btw)? You don't even know. Last but not least- let me say that these folks are also so kind and thoughtful. Whether it's a heads up about something being out, bringing food to door when you aren't home, a cute note on the takeout bag, or offering a random extra juice one time when I picked up - they care about the food they are making and the community they are creating. Cannot say enough good things about this business 🙌💜“

“Finding the right caterer for our wedding was stressful to say the least - we wanted to make sure the food was great, especially if we were allocating the biggest portion of our wedding budget to it. We were very worried ... until we met Alyson at Hearty Boys & did our tasting there. The food is fun and so tasty - packed with flavor and executed perfectly for the big day! Alyson is so kind and made us feel like we were uniquely important to her (even though shes working with dozens of couples at a time). We also have to give a special shout out to Alan - Alan was our dedicated server for the night (which was such a nice touch we weren't expecting) and he took care of all our needs with speed and kindness. Thank you so much to the whole Hearty Boys team!“

“Zeitlin’s is amazing!!! The staff is always friendly and kind, and the food is incredible. I’ve had both the bagels and the challah French toast sticks / bread pudding and both are delicious. One of the staff members recommended I try the French toast bread pudding cold and I would highly recommend!“
“Kat was a huge help in making our wedding reception happen. She knows what she is doing, and despite the fact that we had a lot to get setup that we designed ourselves (so we didn't have a vendor dedicated to getting our centerpieces and such setup), they did it perfectly and we were blown away when we walked in.
The staff was so friendly, every one of them had a huge smile on their face and made it a point to congratulate us as they passed by our table. And the food - absolutely fantastic (and we're picky!).“

“After trying Hortiport for a couple of weeks I can say that, compared to the other grocery delivery services, Hortiport eliminates the untrained ‘middle man’. This guarantees your box of goodness will be the freshest and most eye-pleasing, as if you hand selected them yourself! I also appreciated the well curated selection of foodie items from local vendors. (One of whom, coincidentally, is based just 2 blocks from my home!) Helping local farmers and small producers is a ‘feel good’ for me and don’t we all need more of that these days?!“

“If I could give more stars, I would. Over the last couple years I have used many food delivery services, Hello Fresh, Freshly, Cook Unity, and now Wholsesome 360. The difference, QUALITY!!! Fresh ingredients, no fillers, high quality oils and fats, nice portions. Not that the other services are bad, but I compare them to frozen entrees at the grocery store, but taste a bit better. My Wholesome 360 entrees were restaurant quality, but with farm to table fresh ingredients-I could literally taste each of the food elements. If you are considering a food delivery service, I recommend paying the extra dollar per meal to get local fresh meals that are good for you, that heal you.“

“Was driving past and saw a Jamaican flag in the window so I turned around. Thank God I did the food is so good ya'll I had the lamb, spinach and mashed potatoes. “We are so thrilled that we chose to go with Food for Thought for our August wedding! We got married at the Chicago Cultural Center, and while the venue has a number of preferred caterers, FFT was the one on that list that stood out to us. From the first phone call to the final calls and emails, they were so easy to communicate and plan with. Many of our guests said that this was the best food they've had at a wedding, and we agree we them! The hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees, and custom drinks were all so delicious; everything turned out perfectly.
I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to Kacilynn, who was the one responsible for planning, organizing, and executing everything for us. When we met her for the tasting, she happily answered all of our questions and was just so fun to talk and work with. I had countless questions and updates throughout the planning process, especially in the final weeks, and she was responsive to everything.
One special thing she helped with was the champagne flutes; I had thrifted, cleaned, and packed over 100 champagne flutes for guests to use and take home, and I had been nervous this would be a burden to them to deal with, but she assured me that it could be done. She took the time to help me decide on a display option for them, and her team cleaned them before and after the event and packed away any leftover flutes. Her attention to detail and her ability to pull everything together seamlessly is truly unmatched.
We are beyond grateful to Kacilynn, her team, and everyone else at Food for Thought for making the food and drinks a true highlight of our wedding!“

“It’s about time Chicago gets solid West African cuisine. Dozzy didn’t disappoint. Had the Designer Jollof Rice Bowl and it was delicious. I combined it with a couple orders of the shrimp suya sticks which put it over the top. Now, I loved the jollof, but that’s to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the shrimp. I can honestly say it was some of the best I’ve ever had. The herbs were perfect and it was grilled just the way I like it. I’ve known Dozzy for a long time and I’m so happy he’s sharing his gift to the world. Y’all get some.“

“I was craving something small for lunch, so I thought of getting empanadas. Unsure where to go, I came across this place on Google. I drove over and went inside, where a kind man greeted me. I ordered two chicken empanadas and noticed they also sold alfajores, so I got one of those too. My coworkers were impressed when they saw me eating, especially since the empanadas came with chimichurri sauce. They were so good! Def recommend.“

“Gpay didn't work and I had no physical card. After trying the Gpay several times, I gave up. The manager asked for the drink I was drinking back, lol. I got in the car, saw my wallet in the seat and decided not to go back in. “I was a little hesitant about ordering a vegan sandwich here because I’m not vegan so ordered the egg sandwich with sriracha bacon. My friend ordered the vegan so I could have a taste. The sandwich arrived on a large baguette which they bake fresh daily, actually all their bread is freshly baked. It was amazing and the egg was perfectly cooked. The sriracha bacon gave the sandwich a slight kick and so tasty. I took a bite of a half of the vegan sandwich and just froze. I couldn’t believe how delicious it was. The sandwich is made on fresh toasted rye bread. I ended up devouring the whole half and had to finish my egg sandwich because I couldn’t put it down. Then I went for the hat trick. A vegan ice cream sandwich, vegan peanut butter ice cream between two rich vegan chocolate cookies. The best part is you can’t beat the price. It’s a casual place with a take out window due to COVID. I believe they may be back to indoor dining when the weather changes. However, they do have nice outdoor tables to sit at and enjoy. But if you are ever in Logan Square , be sure to check it out. They have amazing home baked pastries, cookies, and do much more. Even better, the staff at the window are fun, energetic and friendly. Be sure to ask them for recommendations. They are extremely helpful.“
“My 4-year old wanted a last minute bday party so I needed food for 40 with less than a weeks heads up. We loved Sabroso last year and hoped to reorder. I was having issues with the app/website and used the chat. Moe was so quick to respond and offered to call me when we were both able to walk through the order together. “I FOUND THIS PLACE AFTER BEING LET DOWN BY THE SLICE OF PIZZA I GOT FROM ANOTHER PLACE NOT TOO FAR FROM HERE. AFTER A QUICK GOOGLE I WAS LEAD TO THE BRIGHT PINK BUILDING THAT HAD SO MANY GOOD REVIEWS. WHEN I ARRIVED I SAW THAT THEY HAD SLICES AVAILABLE BUT THEY WERE SOLD OUT OF CHEESE AT THE TIME, SO I DECIDED TO JUST ORDER A SMALL CHEESE THIN CRUST SINCE I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD ONLY BE ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THE GUYS HERE WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND MADE THE 10 MINUTE WAIT GO BY WITH EASE. BEFORE I KNEW IT I WAS BEING TOLD THAT MY PIZZA WAS READY. I HAD TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE PIZZA BEFORE I LEFT OUT AND IT WAS A CLASSIC LOOKING THING OF BEAUTY. I HAD TO TRY A SLICE BEFORE CLOSING THE BOX BACK AND MY TASTE BUDS WERE GREETED WITH PIPING HOT DELICIOUSNESS. THE QUALITY OF THE SAUCE WAS VERY GOOD AND IT HAD THAT TRADITIONAL CLASSIC TASTE THAT YOU LOOK FOR IN A GREAT PIZZA. THE CRUST MAINTAINED ITS CRISP INTEGRITY, EVEN THOUGH I ASKED FOR A LITTLE EXTRA SAUCE ON IT. THE MELTY PULL ON THAT CHEESE WAS PERFECT FOR ME AS WELL. I ONLY ADDED CRUSH RED PEPPERS TO IT BECAUSE I LIKE A LITTLE KICK WITH MINE AND THAT MADE IT PREFECT FOR ME. ALL IN ALL, I'M SO GLAD I FOUND THIS PLACE AND ANY TIME I'M IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD I'LL BE STOPPING BY TO GET ONE OF MY FAVORITE FOODS FROM YOU GUYS. “Tonight we had another really great meal prepared for us by New Rose! After a few weeks of being hunkered down due to the COVID crisis we thought to treat ourselves to a meal. It’s been so nice to taste things we don’t usually think to cook- Coconut lime curry tilapia, chicken paprika shrimp pasta primavera! The food is delicious, the portions generous, and reasonably priced. Thanks New Rose for giving us something g to look forward to!“
