“Owner is contagiously passionate about his food, which made the experience that much more enjoyable. The juice/horchata/lemonade Are incredible - if it’s your first time, owner lets you sample each one. Ordered the birria quesadilla dinner with chips and guac, all of which were outstanding and so authentic. Will definitely be back!!“
“I was hesitant to try El Tragón, I've passed by many times and just didn't get the feel for it. Big forking mistake! The place is absolutely fantastic, the exterior does this place no justice. The birria was amazing! Tasty, not overly spiced or greasy; the tortillas hot and salsa spicy! Con una coka bien fría, que más !“
“The best birria I have ever eaten in my entire life. I've just been there for the first time and it's simply incredible. From the first place, I was involved in something difficult to explain, so many years passing and never having given them a chance or knowing the goodness of their food.“
“I must say that the food was very delicious, the service from Daniel was excellent, the quesabirrias are delicious, and the micheladas are on point, I highly recommend this place and I hope to return soon, every time I come on a trip to Chicago this is my place favorite.“
“I’m always looking to try new places and if you’re a looker too look no further!!! I tried three different tacos- short rib, bulgogi, and shrimp- all delish. The star here was the Korean street bbq wings! The wings were absolutely to die for, they were so good that I immediately checked to see if this place was on Uber eats or DoorDash. Sadly they aren’t but I hope hope hope they will be in the future! Amazing food, def check them out“
“THIS PLACE IS EFFING BONKERS GOOD. every meat selection is perfectly cooked and seasoned impeccably. been about six times since discovering it a few weeks ago. i have dietary restrictions and the staff are super kind and accommodating. can’t recommend highly enough.“
“Penelope's Vegan Taqueria Andersonville hits the spot! Honestly, this is probably the best vegan Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. The portions are a nice size with many great menu options. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food and ambiance are great. The Chunky Quesa Taco (cheddar cheese quesadillas taco topped with asada, onion, cilantro, lettuce, tomato and green salsa) is a must try! Overall, if you visit, you will not regret it!“
“The Quesobirria was super delicious. The tortillas are literally handmade and fresh to order. I was impressed how attentive the staff was. Came with a couple of friends from out of town and I definitely think this place nailed a super delicious quesobirria. I will definitely come back. Found my new spot for birria!“
“Best tacos in Logan square sorry not sorry this is my go to taco spot always I love the service the workers are very attentive team spicy tacoooossss ????Vegetarian options: Never had a veggie taco till I tried one here and it is officially my favorite Taco on the list “
“Located in Chicago's lively Lincoln Park, this spot is a top-tier destination for shrimp tacos – and it absolutely lives up to the hype! Hands down, the best I've ever had. The shrimp and breading reach perfection, making every bite a joy. Their $4 happy hour is a game-changer, featuring signature Baja fish and veggie tacos, along with $8 margaritas. Don't miss their quesabirria tacos – three short rib and cheese crispy tacos with a side of consommé beef broth for dipping. It's a flavor explosion that's hard to beat. Taco enthusiasts, this gem is a must-try!“
“Came here for lunch. Not crowded at all, we were practically the only ones there. Had the Zombie Burrito, which was outstanding although pricey. Otoh, it was very filling. I should have saved half for later but it was so good I couldn't stop eating. Bar looks fun, too, so I'm planning on returning one evening to check out the After Five vibe.“
“This place has the bomb tacos - a culinary adventure for sure, not your average taqueria (which I do love btw, but this is different). Rotating seasonal special ingredients, duck tacos, amazing flavor. Also a little pricier, and a longer wait time (they make these suckers to order) I advise order online in advance and pick em up!“
“You want the best tacos you’ve ever had…in life. Go here. They are consistently good and I love how the food is always packaged well. The chicken baby is THEE best chicken taco I have ever had. I usually order steak tacos but the chicken baby converted me to a chicken taco lover! It is so well seasoned & tender. It’s just *chef’s kiss*“
“Tacos? Perfect.Rice? Perfect.Beans? Perfect. The staff is so incredibly friendly, the environment is super cool and great photo spot, and there is amazing graffiti artwork on the side of the building that also makes a great picture opportunity. I highly recommend the Surf n’ Turf taco. I hope to be coming back again very soon. If you need somewhere that is quick and delicious do not hesitate to stop here.“
“I was looking for a place in Chicago to watch my Cincinnati Reds Opening Day. This place was a home run! The Manager was so welcoming. She had my game on two big screens when I arrived. I met the owner who thanked me for coming and chatted me up about the Reds. Tiara and Anita, were both super attentive and so welcoming. Great place and staff! I'll be back! Thanks guys! - Bill Carigan“
“Even though it was super busy bc of Valentines , service was spot on. Everybody was working so hard to accommodate every table. Food was delicious. We love the fact that it's family run. Everyone is so cordial and pleasant. We keep going back for more. We like sitting at the bar also, Jackie, the bartender is friendly and sweet And efficient. Give it a try!“
“Such a great experience at Broken English Old Town! The taco Thursday deals are the best. $3 per taco, and they’re so delicious. I tried the Ay Papisito and the Al Pastor. I had a couple of rounds of those? Our server Britt B. was so great. I was uncertain of what drink to get and she suggested the frozen horchata and it did not disappoint! i may become a thursday regular!“
“I went here a few weeks ago. The tacos were so amazing. My friends and I rave about them since going. They also have really delicious margaritas (strong, but you cannot tell from the taste!).Quick and friendly service! Highly recommend, I will be returning.“
“Omg this was so so good. We got the Al pastor, carne asada and bistec for a total of $10. The carne asada was so so so good!! The bistec was also delicious and the portion was huge. My friend got the Al pastor and was really satisfied.Sergio was so nice. Would happily come back next time I’m in the area.“
“Truly authentic, and really incredible food. I don’t know how they get their Carne Asada so tender, but it’s really fantastic! Their Al Pastor is to die for as well! Also recently tried there Carne Asada enchiladas with Mole sauce. Homemade Mole was blissful! My wife had their chicken enchiladas. Really incredible. They have this wonderful tangy cheesy chicken filling and she got the green sauce on top. Sumptuous! I’ve eaten good Mexican food all over the US, and in Mexico, and this place is a real gem. Throw in very reasonable prices, a great owner chef who’s passionate about what he does, and you’ve got a trifecta!“
“Super fun vibe - order at the counter. Eclectic taco options - chicken and waffles? Yes please. With rotating special tacos. Red velvet cake on deck for dessert. The tacos are on the larger side and have plenary of “stuff” on the inside. Chips and queso are not essential but a tasty add on - as are the nachos (I ordered with no meat and they were still fabulous). We love coming back to VT when we’re in the area!Vegetarian options: Plenty of delicious veggie friendly options available! The menu is separated by meat/veg so they’re easy to siphon through.“
“A hole in wall gem. This spot made it to my authentic flavor list. Every bite was flavorful and ingredients were proportionally put together making the burrito very enjoyable. The 2 guys working there were very enthusiast towards customers making the whole experience awesome.“
“Creative, high quality dishes. A bit pricey, though it lives up to the cost. The steak tartare was very flavorful. Its was quite dressed for a tartare, i.e. not meat-forward. The duck was fantastic, as was the saffron prawn gnocchi. Like the flavors or not, none of the dishes were boring, ingredients were great, and the execution was beyond question. The blood and sand was perhaps the best balanced smoky scotch cocktail I’ve had. Partner’s bohemian was also very good.“
“The food here was amazing! We came to try the queso birria tacos and they did not disappoint! We had a steak burrito and the chicken al pastor tacos as well. The service was friendly and the place was very clean. The food came quickly and was so good! The salsa’s were delicious and complimented our meal.Dietary restrictions: All the food was halal!“
“Real Mexican tacos! Tacos and tortas are very well served, the people is very friendly and the food was out at a super speed. Restroom was very clean too. The tables and the whole place look a bit old but clean, clean, clean!Kid-friendliness: Our kids love plain tacos but even for the picky eaters they have chicken nuggets, fries, burgers and quesadillas, so I would say it is a very good place to eat with kids. Plus the beverages are delicious.“
“Amazing place. I suggest changing the name to the Michoacana Elite! I was amazed at how nice it looked compared to any other location I have visited. The food is fusion, and the samosa smash pizza was to die for. I highly recommend this place! Of course, the sweets are fantastic, “
“I absolutely love Big Rigs! From their food truck to their restaurant, their food is always so delicious. My go to is always a Quesadilla de Alpastor (tortilla hecha a mano). They’re a pretty decent size, I get full with just one ? definitely always recommend this place to people ?“
“This place is legit! I’ve been meaning to try this little taco shop since I can walk to it - yesterday I finally did and wow! Surprised me at how great the food was and will definitely be back again. The inside is small but can seat a few folks but it’s the tables outside that make for a great spot to enjoy some tasty food with friends. Make sure to grab a horchata too! So yummy!“
“We were there yesterday for an event, and the service was first class, and the food out of this world. The music selections on vinyl were fantastic. Our son said he likes to go there often because of the amazing food and the great music. Can’t wait to go back.“
“Cozy little outside patio place to sit and eat with small walk up hut to order from the window. Friendly owner and his parents run the place. Tacos were made to order and delicious. Great flavor and good salsas. Right next to tennis courts and short walk to the water. Looking forward to returning next time we're in the area.“
“Did a quick pick up order this weekend as this place is a neighborhood joint for me. I noticed last time that the burrito was a bit bitter and so this time I got it without onions and it was much much better. Actually, the nachos were probably the best. Shortly growing on me. I think it's a gem in Westown.“
“I have hosted two events at Barcocina West Town and they have both been outstanding. The team was very easy to work with pre-event to coordinate. Day of, they had everything ready and were very attentive to our needs. The servers and bartenders were exceptional and provided incredible service. The food and drinks were delicious, and everyone had a great time. The space was super cute and inviting. If you need to host an event - bridal or baby shower, birthday party, anniversary, graduation, or a business mixer- look no further!“
“Whats up fellow taqueros, this is your faithful TacoLoco her to review TTS. This hidden gem is legit. Nice, clean, bright and with great service. But who cares about that! Let's get down to why we came here.I ordered the taco dinner and a Diet Coke. If I'd know it was BYOB, I would have picked up 2 taco degenerates and a 12 Pk of Modelos and had a run at it.The meal was $19, but we'll worth it.The rice was fresh and well balanced. The flavor was authentic and the grains were perfectly cooked. The beans were AMAZING!I had them mix my dinner with one steak, pastor and carnitas. The steak was thin sliced and tasty but would have been better if it was flame grilled, but not bad! The Pastor was great! Light but tally and with real chunks of pineapple. Yes, pineapple. If you know, you know. The carnitas stole the show. They were fresh, lean and moist. Yeah, I said it - Moist! The salsa'a were full of flavor but medium hot. I like scorching lava hot, but these 2 were good. All in all, great place to eat. If you ever need a TD (Taco Degenerate) for company when coming here, 'put me in Coach!'“
“We always do take out or delivery. They've consistently! been the most delicious tacos I've had. The guacamole is phenomenal. All we talk about throughout dinner is how much we are enjoying our dinner. It's really nice to have food that both meets my dietary restrictions AND tastes incredible.“
“Tonight was my second time eating here, and it was ever better than the first time. The food is delicious! I had the al pastor, mushroom al pastor and chile relleno tacos and each one was better than the last. I like that there is a lot of variety in the menu with some off the beaten path choices. I have not been in the restaurant yet, but my Husband reported that it was adorable inside with fun cocktails and nice ambience. This will definitely be added to our rotation!“
“Regular price and size tacos al pastor are really good. On Monday and Tuesday tacos are supposed to be 1 dollar but if you don't ask they won't tell. Why would you advertise that in social media if you don't offer it to your customers and instead just give them regular tacos and when customer ask, you say that you need to ask for those ? ? If you opt for the special taco be aware that you would get 80% tortilla and 10% grease scraps.“
“My go to taco place in downtown. They have a good ambience and the chips & dip are complimentary. They have a variety of dips near the counter as well and free to take. My most favourite vegetarian tacos are their Nashville hot cauliflower and Samosa Taco. I always opt for their corn tortilla or their hard shell. I highly recommend this place for everyone when you’re in and around downtown.Vegetarian options: Cauliflower, potatoes, paneer, corn, veggiesDietary restrictions: Gluten free option availableParking: Somewhat difficult to find parking in the downtown. Had to park far away from the place.“
“I love coming here so much. Great vibes, amazing coffee, fire empanadas ??? i’m walking out with a smile on my face guaranteed. Early bird special is a large coffee (iced or hot) and an empanada for $7…. im breaking up with dunkin. I’ve been a huge Tola fan since 2017 when I lived by the Southport location. #4 is my fave of the bunch!“
“We came here with friends after school. We walked in and ordered 6 smoothies- so delicious and I don’t even know how she produced them so quickly! Then another car pulled up with 6 more of our friends. Elvia quickly made their order, too! Then a few more showed up and she just kept pumping out our orders as well as the other customers who popped in between our whole group. The smoothies were so fresh tasting! The atmosphere was so chill and comfy! My friend’s daughter pulled out a deck of cards and the kids started playing! We definitely have been missing out on this hidden gem. I’ve driven past a million times and never even noticed it! Can’t wait to make this our regular hangout and try everything on the menu! Gracias, Elvia! ❤️“
“The food here is AMAZING! It’s an excellent place to try something new or familiar but with an elevated taste. Plus it’s Vegetarian friendly!Vegetarian options: Every burger on the menu is able to be substituted for either a mushroom burger OR an impossible burger. They’re both delicious.“
“Mr. Molcajetes is a late-night haven for taco enthusiasts. Their steak tacos are a delicious, packed with flavor and grilled to perfection. The vibrant patio sets the stage for an idyllic summer dining experience. Whether you're craving a midnight snack or a lively evening under the stars, Mr. Molcajetes is the go-to spot. I would highly recommend it. Service was fast and I always felt tended to.“
“Today was my first time here and let me just say that it won’t be my last. I ordered the Shrimp and Salmon Taco’s along with some Tater Tots, and a slice of Red Velvet Cake. Every bite was SUPERB!!!! The Flavors are still dancing and having a party on my tongue as I type this review. Thanks Velvet Taco!!!!Wheelchair accessibility: I was very excited to see that they had shorter bar stool seating because I can’t sit on high chairs. They also have wheelchair accessible tables.“
“They are a great option for family dining. They gave us specialized attention for a bday party and made us feel incredibly welcomed while the guest of honor was treated extremely kindly and given even more specialized attention. And the food was great too!“
“Great brews and great food!Stopped here after the botanical gardens. It is like a 6 minute drive from the gardens. And worth the trip for sure. The birria and mardi ramens were fantastic! Fried ramen was great too! Can't wait to go back!“
“Very unassuming place. I just walked in randomly and had their steak burrito and a few tacos - food was excellent, very generous portions, great prices, and super clean. So glad to come here afterwards and see it has so many good reviews. Very well deserved!Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“First and foremost, the staff of any restaurant are the ones that truly keep an establishment running and thriving and are the heart and representation of the business. The hostess / order-taker and crew at Stacked and Folded, were super friendly to us and offered such great customer service! The atmosphere inside is very nice and offers an elevated casyal food experience.Even though the average taco is around $6.50, it is very large and offers a lot of the actual ingredients. This was the case with my short rib taco. The short rib taco did offer a little bit of that spicy hot but not too much which was good, and yes, was slightly sweet in the sauce as advertised. Overall, the flavor combination was very good and would rate it a 3.9 out of 5. It was just tender and juicy enough, but could even be a little bit more tender in the meat. I know it is not easy when it comes to short ribs and believe me they did a good job here! It is worth getting! We had also ordered the short rib sandwich, but I recommend to have the short rib in the taco form. It just taste even better with the corn tortillas! The sweet potato fries are a five out of five star! Some of the best I’ve ever had in my life. They are cooked perfection, and have that right texture on the outside and perfect on the inside. Amazing. Now as a cook, my (James’) critique is focused on the shrimp taco. Like every other item, Katherine and I had, the shrimp taco is made in a very fresh and flavorful, non-greasy and healthy tasting manner. What observations and what can be worked on from the creators of the menu is the following:The shrimp in your shrimp tacos-at least when we visited—was just plain cooked shrimp and was actually dry. My advice based on the best shrimp tacos I have ever encountered or made are taking thawed raw shrimp, then marinate them of course, and grill them briefly and just right so that they come out juicy and tender and with that amazing flavor profile. That would make your shrimp tacos a five out of five.“
“Deeee-licious!!! The short rib empanadas were flaky and flavorful. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The owner stopped by the table to complete the experience. The menu was very interesting--definitely going back.Parking: Pay parking right in front but two-hour free parking on the neighborhood streets right around the corner.“
“Loved the music, decoration, and food. Got the asada tacos with avocado and cheese and loved it. As well as the horchata was lovely. I would come back and recommend others to try!Parking: At least 20 spotsKid-friendliness: Has a kid menu and lots of kid options for drinksWheelchair accessibility: The entrance has no stairs and has wheelchair accessible parking“
“The Challah French toast is AMAZING! We loved everything we ordered. I’m only taking away 1 star because the coffee was pretty terrible. When your food is next level, please serve coffee that is up to your clearly incredibly high standards! Intelligentsia? Metropolis? We have so many great local choices! But, overall, fantastic experience! We’ll be back!“
