Willowbrook's best places for Mexican cuisine are in our list.
“We have been regular customers here for years! Tonight we went in...UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT ! What?! Jose - you and your family will be missed. We hope you are doing well though!! You're in our thoughts and prayers. We did not stay as they also have NO ALCOHOL. We're so sorry we didn't get to say "take care and we hope to see you soon!" Mike & Louise at the bar!“
“Food was good as usual. Only problem me and my guy had with the place was guacamole was starting to turn brown, and the dining room needed to be cleaned up. Tables needed to be wiped down. Will always go to Chipotle, but not sure if we'll go to this location again. Which sucks cause is the one closest to his house.“
“I must say that the food was very delicious, the service from Daniel was excellent, the quesabirrias are delicious, and the micheladas are on point, I highly recommend this place and I hope to return soon, every time I come on a trip to Chicago this is my place favorite.“
“As a vegan myself, this place has the best vegan tacos I've ever had! Service was very quick too without sacrificing quality, in addition feels "light" in a good way without all the heavy grease and salt. It's hard finding vegan restaurants with large vegan menu options, including desserts like cake and brownie dessserts that taste so good like "regular" cake/brownies, so this place has it all! Also love how close this restaurant is walking distance to my home, so I'll definitely be a repeat customer!“
“I wish I had pictures but the food looked so delicious we just jumped right in; we weren't wrong. We recently moved from the city to Elmhurst and were looking for tacos that could live up to our neighborhood taco guys and we are glad to have found taco villa. Their al pastor is sweet and spicy, just perfection. We also tried the asada and it was good but the al pastor is the way to go. Can't wait to visit again and try some tortas!!“
“I've been a loyal customer of Tamales Norma for years, and they never cease to amaze me. Whether it's the traditional pork tamales or the creative vegetarian options, each one is consistently delicious. It's no wonder they have such a stellar reputation!“
“This is my partner and I’d favorite place. We love the food and we love Paco (the owner). His creations are a stellar reimagining of the traditional Mexican dishes that we all love. All the dishes are not only Paco’s artworks, they come from love. Will always be this restaurant’s biggest.“
“I am an avid eater!!, yes and I have been comparing this place and it’s simply great. The place is clean, food is very good and authentic and most of the family works. Only concern is that the place is small and it gets crowded on weekends.“
“We ate there a few weeks ago for the first time. Its delicious, the people are super great and since we are working nearby we have been back multiple times its so good. We had Tacos, Birritos, Birria ramen and sopas...ALL delicious to perfection!“
“First time trying this tonight. Best tacos in the Western Suburbs. Everything was amazing and the service was above and beyond. They really want their customers to have a great food experience. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch or dinner.“
“Had to try the Pizza Birria! It was amazing would definitely go again to eat it. The Birria Fries ehh not the greatest, fries were pretty hard a little cold. But they were to go order so will give them another try for Dine-In. Overall recommend this place. ??“
“I've been here many times now, and love it!! It's busy most weekends and holidays and nights tbh, lol. So expect a bit of a wait, sometimes. It's worth it. Besides you can walk up the street and have a quick beer at Orange and Brew or Emmett's Brewing Co. while you're on their waiting list. It's just a short walk; get that 5 minute walk in for beer and food!! Enjoy and cheers!“
“Lily's cafe is such a cute breakfast spot! The food was delicious and was out very quickly, the service was great and everything came out perfectly! It is a bit on the smaller side so I would bring no more than 4 people. But I loved eating here, a great hidden gem! We had the stuffed French Toast and it was delicious!“
“This was a great place for authentic Mexican food. I rate restaurants not on how fancy they are but on several factors. It starts with chips and salsa, then basic items like tacos (steak/al pastor), then enchiladas. I had tacos (steak, pastor and chile relleno). All were great. Of course service and cleanliness is essential. I highly recommend this place.“
“The looks of the restaurant is down home Cafe style. Nothing fancy or over decorated. It has an extensive menu. The food we ordered was great! Our dishes were definitely reminiscent of Mexico. The service was great. Couldn't ask for a better server. It's a little high on cost, but its genuine. Definitely will be going back.“
“Wish I could give service a 6/5. Food was out in 5 minutes and the woman running the front was above and beyond accommodating allergies. The food was so good I forgot I was ordering Mexican food in the midwest. Parking was an issue but thats the only complaint.Dietary restrictions: Very nice and accommodating. Cannot recommend it enough.“
“This resturant is an absolute gem! The cocktail list is impressive and delicious. There are multiple, delicious craft Mexican-inspired cocktails. If you like spicy, be sure to select something with the homemade jalapeño simple syrup! The food was excellent. It is no exaggeration when I state that I had the BEST ground beef taco I have ever had. The al pastor taco and guacamole were delicious as well. Locals, we need to keep this place open. This family-owned and run resturant is a wonderful addition to our community!“
“Nice little spot. Service is superb. Tocos are small but they are flavorful. The Gordita with chicharrón prensado, simply amazing. This is a must have if you come here. Everything is also very affordable. Will most definitely be back for more of that chicharrón prensado!“
“I haven't had food with such sabor (flavor) in so long that wasn't cooked at home. Not salty at all. Great service. I'm definitely going back. Ordered the yuca rellenas, papa rellenas, Pollo encebollado, and the lechon. We were surprised with toasted French bread with homemade guava butter!!!!!“
“This is by far the best burrito I have ever had in my life! It is the juiciest, tastiest, and freshest ingredients that I've had in a burrito, and I'm so happy that the location came back in Summit, IL. If I could rate it ten stars I would.“
“Very friendly people working here. Service is fast. The food is good and authentic. The churros (dessert) are tasty. They are not a sit down restaurant it is pick up and takeout only. Affordable prices and good portions. Overall would recommend.“
“We ordered catering for my husband's birthday and they did not disappoint. Everyone loved the food and we have amazing leftovers. We have loved them for some time but their willingness to accommodate our small, birthday gathering just makes me love them more. Kudos Los Dos!“
“Nice little counter serve restaurant in downtown Lombard with a cute interior and friendly folks behind the counter. We dropped in for vegan nachos and margaritas. The vegan cheese and chorizo were on point. We'll come back soon and hopefully get to enjoy the patio, too!“
“WHAT A FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Was warm and inviting from the second we stepped foot in the door. We were greeted by Alexia, She went over all the options and the menu! True world class service. Our waitress Bridge was 10 out of 10! The level of service and attention given was exceptional. Then the real star of the show arrived!!! HOLY MOLE ! Ever flavor ever bite was so tender and warm… ? thank you .“
“I absolutely love Big Rigs! From their food truck to their restaurant, their food is always so delicious. My go to is always a Quesadilla de Alpastor (tortilla hecha a mano). They’re a pretty decent size, I get full with just one ? definitely always recommend this place to people ?“
“I've tried many of the tacos and they are all great. The Pescado is small for the price compared to others in the area. This is the first queso fundido I have found in years. I love it. Definitely on my order again. Taco prices are right where I like them. The service is great. They are very attentive. My water stayed full. This decor seemed authentic. I'm happy to have an affordable Mexican restaurant in the area.“
“The food here at least for the carnitas, are hands down the best, i live near the ORD airport and used to drive down all the way down to the southside for some good carnitas. Thank goodness, I no longer have to since finding this gem of a restaurant. Another indication that this place is great is because it always has customers, never empty. Oh, and their champurado is da bomb! I haven't tried other stuff on their menu like tacos, flautas, etc. But I can vouch for the carnitas. staff is also friendly and very clean.“
“This place has authentic handmade tortillas and Mexican cafe de olla!! Chips and salsa are also great. We tried the huevos rancheros and chilaquiles with eggs from the breakfast menu, and also ordered one quesadilla and one tamal with mole. Everything was exquisite, although chilaquiles were way too spicy. Portions are very large, for instance, the quesadilla is maybe the size of two tortillas. The service was very slow. However, the waitress, Sully, had a positive attitude and was very friendly, even though the place was crowded. In general, the place/atmosphere is nothing fancy but the food is worth trying. We would be back some time!Vegetarian options: Eggs with nopales, quesadilla, chilaquiles“
“The tamales are FIRE!! Moist, airy (not dense), and fully of meat. I bought the rojos con pollo, verde con pollo, rojos con puerco, and a oaxaqueño para rematar The family devoured them!!For me, the oaxaqueño was top notch and by far my favorite kind of tamal to eat!! It was SUPER moist and almost gooey…and LOADED with sauce, meat, y muchísimo SABOR. Just the way I like them. The champurrado was also very good. This was my first time trying Isela’s Tamales and I know the wifey will send me to Isela’s for otra dozena “
“I don't even know where to begin to express how incredible of an impression this restaurant has left me. The kindness and quality of it all definitely has me wanting to come back. The steak torta was juicy and filling with the right touch of ingredients. The rice was really good along with the beans! The chicken torta was tender and juicy as well with such a fluff of bread to the touch. The Birria tacos were the juiciest and cheesiest I've had from anywhere along with their motor oil broth (just joking, I just call them all that as it was still super delicious as well)And for dessert, the cheesecake was so smooth to the taste while the churros were very crunchy and Delicious, and even came with 3 different dips to try with! That was an awesome experience.Everything was just really well done and delicious! Along with the presentation was just great! Thank you for this delicious experience! Will definitely be coming back.“
“Personally I love their Al pastor burrito, suizo, but all of their food is delicious. They use the freshest, high quality ingredients and it shows. The burrito ? is exceptionally light for a meat dish, and goes down very easily. Maybe it's me, but the fellow diners are really friendly... And the owner/host is a great guy. Highly recommended.“
“Beyond expectations! Countless memories of a night filled with joy and celebration - thank you Valladolid Banquet Hall for making my daughters quince amazing. Very emotional seeing my daughter's dream exactly how we envision it coming true. Beautiful decor, service was great, and the food was delicious. We can't wait to be back. Please keep us up to date with any upcoming events! Thank you Valladolid Banquet Hall again.“
“This place is what all restaurants should aspire to be. The owners and team are very welcoming and accommodating. I went here for a Holiday Party and the way they treated us was like family. The only thing that surpasses their hospitality is the food. Everything was so fresh and so well prepared. The variety of fresh salsas is endless and drinks are on point too. I highly recommend Moreno's Mexican Restaurant and Salsa Bar and I can't wait to go back. Kudos to this family owned business. They are doing something right and this an amazing addition to the Lemont community!“
“At this taco spot, it's as simple as order at the counter and grab your food there, too. There are no prices on the menu. Just pick what you want and go for it. I tried the Al Pastor and steak tacos, and they hit the spot. But the real star was the guac and chips – I absolutely loved it!“
“The food was excellent and for a very reasonable price! Order at the register, and they bring the food to your table. There was no dedicated wait staff, so it had a fast food feel upfront, but the food was full service restaurant quality. We didn't have to wait that long to get our food. Speed was on par with or slightly faster than a typical sit-down mexican restaurant. Overall, come for the food, not the dining experience. 4.3 stars! I would definitely recommend this place, and I will come back!“
“Super Homely resteraunt. They have karaoke Friday nights! Yummy food combos! We had a breakfast platter and a 3 taco steak dinner! Sweet margaritas, frozen and fresh! The manager is so friendly! Made me feel like family! Place is clean and I love the aura!“
“I ordered pick up for half a gallon of red pozole and ceviche. The ceviche is exceptional and diced exactly how I like it, very small, and came cold just how it’s supposed to be. The pozole is delicious and the toppings come in a large portion. Pozole was still very hot when I get home. I like cabbage, cilantro and radish instead of lettuce so if you order here make sure you have the toppings you like at home.“
“Very cool.. drinks were excellent, so were the nachos!! Service was very good, especially since the girl was handling the bar and the tables with a lot of patience and ease. The reason for not giving 5 stars... prices were slightly more than what was on board and menu. Make sure you pay attention to tip, it's automatically added for 4 or more. Will be back.“
“I have been looking for a good taco place to go to and I stumbled upon this place. Let me tell you they have great tacos here. The young ladies that work here are nice and welcoming. The food is very fresh and good. Price is reasonable. I had the two taco special and it was great. If you are looking for a good taco this is the place to go to.“
“Isamar is a professional at serving customer. Very friendly, helpful, beautiful and genuine server. ❤️ The chicken mole was amazing. My mom had shrimp al mojo also super fresh, best tasting in all Chicago. I'm a born and raised Chicagoan. LOVE IT!!“
“Naturally I was hesitant because it’s a taco joint that also does pizza lol but I was not disappointed. in a town where bougie taco places charge 4-5 dollars a taco . Tapicozza is cheap and authentic. The asada tacos had flavor , salsa is on point, Mexican coke was frosty. 10/10 would eat “
“This place is a true neighborhood gem that will satisfy all your diner cravings (excellent Turkey bacon club), home cooked Mexican classics like sopes (and don’t miss their delicious salsas and fried-to-order chips!), and even southern comforts like chicken fried steak with gravy. The portions are enormous, the staff and cooks are super friendly, and the restaurant is extremely clean and cozy.It took me a while to check out what was behind the unassuming storefront on North Ave, but I am so glad to live near enough to walk, and encourage everyone to check out this Galewood classic!“
“A cute little spot we heard about from TikTok. The lady who took our order was very sweet and welcoming. We got the quesa Birria combo and ribeye burrito. The meat was well flavored. We loved the fresh salsas. Finally some flavor in the west burbs!“
“Loved it and I'll be back! So I'm new to the burbs and was ecstatic when I found out there would be this trendy fusion restaurant opening up. My husband and I stumbled upon it on a Saturday early evening - just in time for an early dinner. I'm a huge Mexican food aficionado so I know my Mexican food. It's not your typical authentic Mexican food that you'd find in the city, but a bit more contemporary and still flavorful - and I can appreciate that! We ordered the guacamole with chips and salsa which I thought were great. We also ordered the Al pastor tacos, the chicken tinga and carne asada. We ended our dinner with the Mexican donuts. Overall, I would go back and order all of it except the chicken tinga which was a little too sweet for my liking. My favorite was the Al pastor. My husband loved the carne asada. I also had a delicious watermelon mocktail not listed on the menu but something the bartender created on a whim. Best of all, the staff and our server were extremely friendly and attentive. We had such a great experience, I would definitely be back and it feels wonderful to have something fun and new in town.“
“Pricey for the quality. The good is good don't get me wrong but I prefer a more authentic place.Parking: Parking is hot or miss as this place is in a small strip mall downtown. Sometimes you can park in the lot and sometimes it's the street but you can usually catch someone leaving the convenient store in the strip mall“
“I had a torta dinner my first time dining here. It was absolutely delicious! Had to try the rice and beans first and they definitely set the tone for what was in store with the torta. Excellent taste. Their Jamaica was perfectly made as well. Will definitely be returning.“
“For Friday date night it was perfect! Appreciated the security safety first right. Service was good, they waste no time to clean up. The food, best i had, seriously returning for the food for sure. It was authentic, homemade delicious. We started with a bucket of Estrella beers, tried the Michelada since they are known for the best of Chicago and a cantarito. So good! Music, TVs, everything was nice. For a Friday it was busy but it felt very chill. It was a perfect Friday night. Thank you!“
“I work around the corner from here and found it by chance. I will say I will be back. I called to find out where they were located and Cindy explained exactly how to find her place. My coworker and I went to go check out the restaurant and Cindy and a gentleman greeted us as we walked in. Even asked if we had just called. This to me is how you treat your customers. As my coworker and I waited for our breakfast burritos the smell of the restaurant was amazing. Cindy also chatted the whole time we waited and explained how she preps and what all goes into their fresh food. Cindy is caring and very passionate about her food and customer service. Please make sure to go find Cindy and chicks’n salsa. They are located in the office building on the corner of main st and 22nd in Lombard. Keep up the good work Cindy.“
“Everything we have ordered is delicious but I especially love their enchiladas suizas. The fried ice cream and piña colada are delicious as well! Their staff is friendly and accommodating! Our server, Veronica was amazingly sweet and attentive.“
“We went tonight for dinner and were shocked! As regular customers we were surprised by the UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT sign. We were also told NO ALCOHOL.Jose you and your family will be missed. We are saddened that we were unable to say ..you will be missed and your in our thoughts and prayers. We hope to see you again soon!Mike & Louise , your friends at the bar!“
