“After asking a bartender to remake an order, we were verbally and physically assaulted by the bar's manager/owner and multiple patrons of the bar. Physically dragged out of the bar, and then my gf was punched in the face twice by the manager. Then he and multiple other men punched and kicked me, knocking one of my teeth out. At no point did we put hands on any of these people, but they thought attacking us was OK. We spent the night in the ER and both have head and neck injuries. Also punched a girl in her face twice busting her lip open horrible that this place allows men to beat up a woman“

The atmosphere is warm, but quiet. Perfect for a good family catchup. The food is comforting without being too heavy and the wine, beer and cocktail selection is the perfect pairing. We've had the pleasure of being served by Anna a few times now and she does a great job. She is attentive and watchful, without being overbearing which is a difficult skill to master for a lot of servers. Aside from that, I love that it is a safe place for folks with food allergies and I feel very well taken care of in respect to that issue. I can tell that everyone from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders to the kitchen staff are very well trained in creating a safe and welcoming experience for each guest. Glen Prairie is quickly becoming one of our go to family favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back!“

“Great food, comfortable atmosphere, wonderful staff and an incredible chef! Have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner many times here and I’ve never had a bad meal! I recently hosted a dinner for a baby shower for my daughter in their side room. Had 14 people with a catered menu of chicken limone, beef tenderloin, gnocchi, salad, roasted potatoes, and grilled vegetables for a very reasonable price. Exceptional. Great wine selections. Desert - a small fruit cup using marshmallow, peanut brittle and ritz crackers. Sounds weird - again - amazing flavors!!! A great experience. “First time at brunch. The brisket hash was very good. Nothing like corned beef hash. It was flavorful and hearty. We were warned that the French Toast was sweet. While good, it was very rich and smothered in chocolate sauce. A little less chocolate would have helped make the dish more enjoyable. Our server wasn't very attentive and didn't check on us after she dropped off the food until we were finished eating. The music was a tad distracting as it was a bit loud, and then again there weren't as many people in the restaurant to absorb the sound. One busser in particular was very detailed and neat in his cleaning of the tables. It was impressive to see the care he put into his job. Would we go back for brunch? Yes. Would we order the same things? Probably not. There are other dishes calling out to be tried.“

A) they have removed them in the past B) for the prices they charge, thought everything was fresh. Simply won't go here again, I went down the street and paid the same dollar amount for skewers where they had no issue removing the onions for me“

“Went for breakfast. Had their Saturday breakfast special. Came with eggs, hash browns, sausage patties, toast and surprisingly a taco. Everything was delicious and the tacos were to die for. The employees were great and he even brought more tacos for the table!“

“Greetings my Foodzies, tonight we decided to try a restaurant that we have passed by numerous times. The great escape on Irving at 9540 w Irving Park rd. in Schiller Park.
This is a unique restaurant that has been around for years. The property has a rich history (see the picture I have posted with the story).
The restaurant’s bar area is very rustic with a bar that was hand carved in 1889, very impressive. TVs have been added to draw in a people who want to eat and have a drink while watching TV. Also a gaming section in the bar area.
Music is old school 50-60s, our server Mareen was pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable.
We started with Grilled Calamari it was grilled nicely but could have used a few more seconds to get a little more char flavor. It was also missing the signature balsamic. Glenda chose the Rigatoni in Vodka sauce with chicken; the chicken was scarce and the sauce was not the traditional sauce it had an odd flavor, not terrible but not what we expected. With a cup of lentil soup, tasty but needed a little extra salt. I chose the baby back ribs and broasted chicken (these dishes they are known for) the chicken was very good, crispy skin and very juicy. The ribs were tender but a little dry. The BBQ sauce was the recipe is the recipe of the owner’s grandfather. It was a Kansas City type sweet sauce with a nice smoky flavor (as a first time patron we were given a bottle to take home). I had the baked French onion soup topped with mozzarella, I’m used to Gruyere, Swiss, or Gouda but ut was very good.

“My Husband and I agree that there needs to be more restaurants like the Omega. We both grew up in the area, and felt quite not only nostalgic but at home while dining today. From the moment you walk in the door until you leave, you are surrounded by a soft ambient glow, dark wood paneling, beautiful hanging lamps above each table. Please do not get me started on their bakery items, bread so good you'd swear grandma was in there kitchen whipping it up by the batch load, a dessert/sweets case that could fulfill anyone's sweetest sweet tooth desires. I had to stop myself before I bought one of everything! My husband Had the Gyro Dinner and was in love with the homemade taziki/cucumber sauce, the meat was perfectly cut right off the spit, and homemade pita bread to top it off, plus it came with a very generous portion of house salad, and a bowl of soup. I was getting full just watching him. lol I tried the Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich, it was amazing, it had loads of melted Swiss cheese and a beautifully grilled chicken breast topped with pineapple(my favorite) all on a fresh baked ciabata roll. it was fantastic! Our waitress was very lovely, super attentive and extremely patient with us, being our first time dining there. Overall I would recommend that you give the Omega a chance, it's like stepping back in time to a simpler, better time, when the food was made with love, and it shows. Thank you for the lovely experience, if we are ever up that way again, we will surely stop.“
