Joined the Waterleaf for dinner during the Regional American Cuisine - Spring 2025 semester. The restaurant is cozy but very comfortable. The service is limited so you don't feel shoehorned into the dining room. Instead, it lends itself to a relaxed enjoyable evening. The service was friendly and informative. If we had any questions about the menu our server was right there to answer them. The food was exceptional! I started with the Chicken Chile Colorado followed by the Arizona Chopped Salad and I selected the Pork Carne Adovoda. The food was AMAZING!
Little sidebar about the online reservation system. It is set up to handle tables of 2 or 4. So, if you try to make a reservation for anything other than that it tends to respond that they are all booked up! If you're having trouble call the restaurant directly!

“After a week of travel for this Mom, the last thing I wanted to do was to make dinner. This isn't the first time we've been to Glen Prairie and I knew it was just the place I wanted to go. The atmosphere is warm, but quiet. Perfect for a good family catchup. The food is comforting without being too heavy and the wine, beer and cocktail selection is the perfect pairing. We've had the pleasure of being served by Anna a few times now and she does a great job. She is attentive and watchful, without being overbearing which is a difficult skill to master for a lot of servers. Aside from that, I love that it is a safe place for folks with food allergies and I feel very well taken care of in respect to that issue. I can tell that everyone from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders to the kitchen staff are very well trained in creating a safe and welcoming experience for each guest. Glen Prairie is quickly becoming one of our go to family favorite restaurants and we will definitely be back!“

“Great food, comfortable atmosphere, wonderful staff and an incredible chef! Have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner many times here and I’ve never had a bad meal! I recently hosted a dinner for a baby shower for my daughter in their side room. Had 14 people with a catered menu of chicken limone, beef tenderloin, gnocchi, salad, roasted potatoes, and grilled vegetables for a very reasonable price. “We had a large group just before lunchtime on a Saturday, and they were great about squeezing us in. Our server D was amazing, truly, and the other staff were helpful and attentive, too. The food was delicious, hot, fast, priced affordably. They have a large menu. We had some special diets in our group and there were enough options for them to find what they needed. I definitely would return and would recommend it to friends.“

“First time at brunch. The brisket hash was very good. Nothing like corned beef hash. It was flavorful and hearty. We were warned that the French Toast was sweet. While good, it was very rich and smothered in chocolate sauce. A little less chocolate would have helped make the dish more enjoyable. Our server wasn't very attentive and didn't check on us after she dropped off the food until we were finished eating. The music was a tad distracting as it was a bit loud, and then again there weren't as many people in the restaurant to absorb the sound. One busser in particular was very detailed and neat in his cleaning of the tables. It was impressive to see the care he put into his job. Would we go back for brunch? Yes. Would we order the same things? Probably not. There are other dishes calling out to be tried.“

Asked for another one and the same type of soupy consistency was delivered. Dessert was meant to have a good presentation but toppled over before arriving at the table but was still served to me.
