“I’ve been eager to try Mortadeli since it first opened, and after hearing so many rave reviews, I finally had the chance to stop by for lunch yesterday. Let me tell you, everything everyone says about this place is spot on! First off, the food is absolutely delicious. Everything on the menu is so tempting, it was hard to choose, but I went with the meatball sub and pasta salad. As someone whose grandmother made the best meatball sandwiches, my expectations were high – but Mortadeli’s version did not disappoint! It was fantastic. The pasta salad was also amazing, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere at Mortadeli is incredibly inviting – it strikes the perfect balance between classy and cozy. The staff are very friendly, and you can tell they genuinely care about making your experience special. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff and quick delivery of our food. One of the owners even took the time to chat with us a bit. Another pleasant surprise was the parking – I had my doubts at first, but we found a spot just around the corner with no problem at all. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I’ll definitely be back. Mortadeli is a must-visit!“

They don't skimp on ingredients either; we got the medium size and we will both have half leftover for another meal. The oil & vinegar combo they put on is so good.
It's a small thing, but they also wrapped our sandwiches in this really cute paper which made everything even more delightful.

“We went to the Batavia location. The employees were so nice! Today was our second time coming last time I just grabbed a regular grilled cheese we came back today with my wife and son they asked if we got a punch card last time I said no he gave us one and punched it for our previous visit also! I didn’t even ask for that the guy working just did it! He was very nice to my son also asked if he had teeth (my sons under 2) and I said yes why and he gave him a couple apple slices free of charge while we waited for our takeout! We’ll definitely be coming back! Food was great too!“

I ordered one and it was mediocre at best: basically just shredded iceberg with a handful of black olives, a few pickles, and some cucumbers. For nearly $8, it felt like a rip-off considering I could’ve bought a whole bag of shredded iceberg at Juul for about a dollar. Iceberg doesn’t have flavor (it’s basically water), and while their vinaigrettes are delicious, they’d be much better served over a spring mix or microgreens. Bottom line: go here for the subs—the meatballs especially are phenomenal, I’d eat a whole bowl of them with gravy. But skip the salad, it’s not worth it.“

“Every time I’ve been in the guy who is there is the same and I forget to ask his name but he’s not only very friendly but knowledgeable and ready to make suggestions every time. It’s as if he knows how intimidating making all the decisions to get a sub made. He suggests things such as my bread choice for the turkey sub I ordered and he said he loves the rosemary with it and he was right! It was delicious. “Let me start with this…. I very rarely write reviews. When I do, it’s usually because the service/company was so disappointingly bad or the other end of that spectrum, which is absolutely superior - service/experience. This will be the latter. What an awesome experience. The food was great and the store was very clean. But what really set this Subway branch apart are the staff or perhaps the owners (not so sure) who took care of me and my mom. Super nice people, very friendly and warm and above all, very accommodating and welcoming. This will not be my last time here for sure.“

“Great lunch spot in downtown Wheaton for a quick bite. The sandwiches are a very good and generous sized. I really like the grinders and panini when I want a hot sandwich. Great service & staff! There is outdoor seating so we can bring our dog when the weather is nice. It can get crowded on weekends around lunchtime, especially in the warmer months.

Parking: Plenty of street parking is available if you can find a spot. During busy times in Wheaton, I recommend the free parking garage, it is centrally located and only minutes walk to any of the attractions. It is maybe a 2 minute walk to the deli.

“Their gyro and hotdogs are always clutch when I'm feeling some comfort Chicagoan food. They never disappoint with portion sizes. The gyro alone can be shared with two people. They fill the box with plenty of fries when I order a Chicago dog meal ($8) and this is the only place around where I can get RC or Mystic from a restaurant! Highly recommend if you're on Ogden, on the go and wanting some classic Chicago foods.“

“Asked for "everything except no mayo" on my sandwich. Poor lady started by putting mayo on it (probably out of habit since most folks want mayo) before realizing her mistake - even before I did. She apologized profusely and had them remake me a sandwich. It was literally the most minor inconvenience in the world that cost me a whopping 2 minutes of added wait time, but they still snuck a free chocolate chip cookie in my bag. “I eat here nearly 3x a week and this is the best Subway I’ve been to in the state and I used to work at a Subway. The two girls here are friendly and do such a great job. Every time I visit, the location is clean, the bread and cookies are fresh and not stale, and the portions are correct. I don’t understand some of the negative reviews, I’ve never had a single problem here. The other locations always fall short in one of these aspects or more.“
