“After years of driving by, we finally stopped in for dinner. WOW! Everything was delicious. Mixed drinks were done right, salad was fresh, and our entrees were fantastic! It was Chicago quality food hidden in Burns Harbor, IN. Tiramisu was just the way we like it and the service, from the Hostess to our Waitress, were friendly and helpful. It's a small and popular restaurant so be prepared to wait...but it is totally worth it!“

“Flamingos has been in town for a long time. Nice little cozy place. A good perch dinner. We like a thin crust pepperoni pizza. The flavor of the pizza dough reminds me of Onos which was one of the Best pizza places, that has a Great flavor to it that you can not find anywhere. The cheese is stretchy when hot. Good flavor! “We met friends here for dinner and hubs and I split a small pizza with tomatoes and onions and a small house salad. It was the perfect size for us! He ate four pieces of pizza and I ate two (one piece was a little bigger than the others), The sauce was a nice sweet sauce and there was lots of cheese with tiny diced tomatoes. We got to choose between white and red onions. We chose red, and they weren't too hot, so we were pleased. They had several crust types to choose from.

The salad was quite big; head lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, cucumbers, green peppers, cheese, and croutons, and the ranch dressing was quite tasty.

Our friends split an XL sausage and cheese pizza and it was plenty big for the three of them. It probably could have easily fed four, five, six, depending on how hungry you are.

I believe that pizza isn't as good unless you drink root beer with it. The root beer was soooo good (of course, I haven't had a root beer in ages). This was definitely an excellent recommendation. Next time we're in town, we'll return.

The only issue we had was the volume level was quite loud. The ceilings are high and not finished, so the voices bounce all over the place, only getting louder and louder, and then you have to speak louder in order to be heard by the person sitting next to you, and it's a vicious circle. If they just lowered the ceilings or put in sound dampening panels, it would be much more enjoyable.“

“My family and I love JJ's! And if you haven't tried their version of stuffed crust pizza...it.is.a.MUST! We usually get a sausage and pepperoni stuffed crust and the whole pizza comes with a layer of crust on top! Not a thick layer, just enough to 'stuff' the pizza with delicious ingredients. They have pretty good mild/hot wings and they staff is always courteous. They messed up our order one time and we had driven to pick it up and didn't notice the mistake until we got home. We called them and they offered to deliver our order to us, no charge!“

My son wanted ketchup with his wings, they weren’t busy so she had an employee run next door to get some. It was completely unnecessary as we were going to stop, but she was so thoughtful and wanted to ensure we’d get back on the road quickly. Her customer service was outstanding and much appreciated“

This past weekend I had a specific craving for Chicago style thin crust pizza. My spouse suggested we give it a try. Wow! It blew us both away by how good the pizza was. It was everything we wanted and more. The “fabulous four” (Italian sausage, mushroom, green pepper, and onion) was mouthwateringly delicious! The Italian sausage savory and the veggies were so fresh. It was even better the next day, reheated in our toaster oven. The other pizza was fantastic too. Along with the few appetizers we ordered. Their marinara sauce tastes so fresh and is the perfect balance of savory and just a hint of sweet.

I cannot believe we haven’t been ordering from here for so long but now that we’ve had it again and tasted the quality we will be loyal customers. It’s a littler more price wise than our local chains around here like Domino’s but I promise you, if you like Chicago style thin crust and quality ingredients it is so worth it. The best part is getting an authentic Chicago pizza without traveling to the city.“

“I just tried to use the VIP coupon for free pizza and ordering the required extra food. order $8.99 wings not enough for delivery must be $10 ok fine order bigger order of wings then they tell me I can't do that, why THEY DONT KNOW. Can't totally blame the worker but the whole conversation took over 10 minutes. guess he wasn't properly trained. what's use in sending out a coupon if I go above and beyond as much as i needed to order. “I have been coming to JJ's for about 15 years and only when we visit lake station usually at Christmas time what's so great about it is the people there and their pizzas it's one of the best I've ever tasted now what this time we ordered a supreme there was so much honor I don't see how they make any money but the first pizza 15 years ago I got to eat was at Christmas time and it was called the kitchen sink wonderful people I don't see why nobody goes anywhere else and I'm serious friendly people good food I just don't give it five stars I give it 10“

“This papa johns has very hard working staff who are under paid! I visited this location on Halloween to get a jack o lantern pizza for my kids and when I arrived it was a mad house inside everyone busting butt working fast making pizzas. The lobby was full the customers were getting rude the screens were beyond full Everytime the workers printed out a page of tickets another page was ready to go. The manger kept apologizing to the rude customers who couldn't clearly see and understand they staff was already working as hard and fast as they could with a full oven and full racks of pizzas to place in already. My wait time was only 35 minutes even with all this going on. So way to go papa johns of lake station. 5 starts for sure! Oh and the pizza looked and tasted great“
