“i LOVE this restaurant! every server i've had here is hard working, fast, and efficient. not only servers, but cooks as well, i haven't waited on my food for more than 20 minutes! it comes out hot and ready to eat and is cooked perfectly every time. i have only had one mistake happen here and before i even mentioned the mistake the manager could tell by the look on my face something was wrong and he fixed it! only thing that i'm disappointed in is the last horchata i had was made with syrup, and wasn't authentic horchata. i don't know if they gave me that version because they ran out of the original but please don't replace authentic horchata with fake.“

“My first time trying torta Cubana and esquite. It’s actually delicious and not expensive. Though I did leave it out for a bit so it may look soggy in the picture. I only put 4 stars for atmosphere due to the fire alarms going off, everything else was great“

“My wife and I saw Guy Fieri review this "Tamale Place" location on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives, and knew we had to try them out!! The first time was my wife's birthday, and I asked her to get in the car, we're going to lunch for your birthday!! We live in the Chicago area, so it was a 280 mile round trip, to Indianapolis, but it was definitely worth the drive!!! We've been back a few times since then!!! The food is excellent. It's the best tamales that we've ever had!!!“

“We found a wonderful Mexican restaurant that has been here for a couple of years but wasn't on our radar. We haven't been in this section of the strip center since this was Dickey's BBQ several years ago. We've now been here twice by ourselves and then brought family on Saturday for our third visit in a week and a half. We were tickled that the family enjoyed lunch on Saturday as well. Tacos Don Pablo just hits all points for us from excellent, friendly service, ice cold draught beer, cocktails, margaritas, table service, authentic Mexican food, and affordable prices. Another surprise and positive is that they serve a reduced number of Danny's Mexican ice cream directly from a smaller Danny's freezer on-site. Speaking of lunch, they offer a lunch menu Monday - Friday from 11:00a - 3:00p. or order off the regular menu. Parking isn't a problem with the large shared strip center parking. Our first server here was Buky, who was amazing, and he helped make our first visit so truly enjoyable. Since then, we have found all the server friendly, glad to answer questions, efficient, attentive without being intrusive, and removed used dishware quickly. Another positive was that the music was at a volume where we could have a nice conversation. We enjoy the complementary salsa and chips. We haven't ordered an appetizer yet since we're always so full after our meals. We've now enjoyed the Cameron's a la Diablo twice, Chili Colorado, Quesabirria Tacos, and the Carnitas dinner. The dinners are so good that we keep reordering an entree one of us had previously, so we're not rushing through the menu sampling different entrees. I love Flan and try to order at every Mexican restaurant we visit. It was no different here as I've had the Flan twice now. Both times, the Flan was fresh and creamy, and Taco Don Pablo's serves a generous amount of carmel sauce on their Flan, which I love. We're both happy with Taco Don Pablo's and hope the food quality and service continue to be as satisfying as during our last few visits.“

Started with a perfectly mixed pitcher of Texas margaritas, the special on a Friday night! Kids got chicken fingers and hand cut fries and arroz con pollo. Both enjoyed their selections, my son never had arroz con pollo and loved it! Hands down the best fajita salad bowl I've ever had! Grilled steak and chicken with cheese, lettuce, onions, peppers, grilled corn, black beans, and avocado. Such a great combination and perfectly mixed. My wife's enchanted with mole sauce was amazing, her favorite now! The waiter was so nice and friendly! Even with a pitcher of margaritas, the value for what you got was well worth it! So much food and didn't break the bank! Super cool spot and will be back again and again!“

“Years ago, I had a shrimp chimichanga that was one of the best things I'd ever eaten. I spent my entire life since then hunting down those chimmies! In my quest to find the perfect chimi, I tried many many restaurants' versions. When I came back to Indy to visit my family, someone wanted to eat here and I finally found them! They were exactly what I had remembered and a quick google maps search of the area I remembered being in when I'd had those first shrimp chimichangas over a decade ago showed that there was an El Rodeo right along the path we'd have taken (All I knew was we'd been coming back to Plainfield from Fishers). I finally re-found the world's best chimichanga! I've tried so many trying to find these that I feel like I can reasonably claim to be an expert, so if you like chimichangas, you really ought to give El Rodeo a try!“

“Tata's Kitchen is a breath of fresh ocean air. I lived in Puerto Rico 3 years back in the mid to late 90s and have missed the food for a long time. I don't have to miss it anymore, Tata's is on point and completely authentic. They are fast and you can get delivery on the cheap. Be warned this is a "for pick up or delivery" restaurant with no indoor seating. Perfect for lunch or dinner with plenty of food. Lunch specials come with a full lunch drink and a dessert. I tried the shrimp mofongo, the pork, and the steak sandwich, all very good. I plan to make it a weekly or bi-weekly habit for lunch. The beans and rice were a must try.“

“Seriously so underrated. Burrito joint is right across the street, but this is where the GOOD stuff is at. Probably the best Mexican food I've ever had, the staff is humble and sweet, a little boy brought my kids leftover balloons from mother's day to take home. That was so thoughtful and precious. “Ok y'all, I live in Texas, was in town to visit my sick dad this past week and had the opportunity to check this place out. Wow y'all. Some of the best Tex Mex I have had. Full stop. The rice and beans are just excellent. The salsa is amazing, and the chips were light with the perfect bit of salt. And y'all, please don't even get me started on the Queso. I can say that El Potro is truly an excellent choice. Had the spicy chimmi (on special for like $9). I liked it so much that the next day when my wife got into Plainfield, I told her that I had a new place to take her. I wanted to try more of the Mexican side of this TexMex as to compare it to what I get at home. So I ordered a tamale, chili relleno, rice and beans while my wife had the Acapulco. Damn y'all. Homemade tamale's are easy to get in Texas, and a staple. These were no different. So many places outside Texas, and some inside Texas, have these little somewhat anemic looking corn straws with little resemblance of any meat....not here. The tamale was Texas sized. Like they all should be and very typical of homemade. Every thing was excellent....again! Attention to detail is what sets this place apart.Large portions and You know when the small things are done very, very well, i.e., rice, beans, chips and salsa, the rest of the menu falls right in line. To top it off, the service I got both days, was top notch. Full knowledge of the menu and able to answer any questions without hesitation. The menu is vast and I didn't see immediately see what I wanted on the menu. So I just told the server what I wanted and our server put it together and I was charged right at the same price as other combinations. Had conversations with both servers and they were so nice and a pleasure to talk to. I really hope y'all enjoy El Potro and stop in for a bite. It will be the last time you ever have to search for good TexMex. You will know where it is. Right there on west 40 just inside Plainfield from Indy. A big thanks to the servers there at El Potro. “The food was wonderful. My son and I had the quesabirria and it was large enough to share between the two of us. It was priced very reasonable. The service was amazing as well. We stopped in on a Friday evening and it was getting busy. But we received our food and drinks very quickly. Great servers and the piña colada was yummy!“

“When you walk into this place it looks like your average Mexican store but as you proceed to the restaurant you do a double take. It’s a beautiful place with a large statue and neat atmosphere. “We went to Gill Tacos for the second time ever. Probably the best tacos I have had. I got the steak (carne asada) tacos with cilantro and onions and asked for cheese as well. I like flour tortillas so I ordered flour. Soooo good!! My wife got the taco salad. She said it tasted good but felt like nachos since it was served on chips instead of a fried bowl. We live in northern Indiana but can't wait to get back south to Indy and have tacos there again. And I should say how the steak was so tender and the flavor is one of a kind that is so delicious.“

I'm not sure if something happened to the space but the doors were boarded up and the interior looked quite different (very small/hard to order, etc) than the picture shared here. The staff wasn't the friendliest for our takeout order and it was blazing hot outside (note that you'll have to wait outside after ordering). Note that takeout can take quite some time- I think we ended up waiting somewhere between 30-40ish minutes. We ordered a variety of tacos, rice and beans, chips and salsa and my favorite, the spicy and refreshing pickled carrots and cauliflower. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but something seemed off with the breading on my Chile relleno taco- enough so that I ended up not eating it. The chicken and pork tacos were much better. The salsa appeared to be homemade and was pretty mild. Overall, a mediocre experience. We have so many great taco spots around Indy that I probably won't hurry back to this one.“

During the winter months it's cold, because the building is not insulated, but they do have large heaters.
