“I’m surprised this place is only rated 3.8! From DoorDash I ordered crab Rangoon ,dumplings,orange chicken,and shrimp fried rice.Everything I ate was 10/10 but their dumplings were 1000/10 for sure my favorite dish!This will be mine and my boyfriends regular Chinese spot now.“

“This is my most favorite restaurant. The food is ALWAYS delicious. The owners are ALWAYS pleasant and welcoming. The restaurant is ALWAYS clean, and that is a big plus. Their orders are very fulfilling. I've also never received a wrong order. They absolutely care about their patrons, and that means a great deal. I live in Chicago, and have a Chinese food restaurant in walking distance from my residence, but I come here, and I wouldn't dare go anywhere else“

“I drive out my way to come here . What other place ask your spice level for everything the chili they use is delicious just the right amount of spice i get medium and the kids get no spice its great! Chicken fried rice veggy egg rolls sweet and sour chicken orange chicken rice soup!!“

“First time customer a friend told me about this Restaurant. I purchased the curry chicken, the angel hair thin noodles MEI chicken ( it tasted better than chicken fried rice, First time for this item and I loved it) the jumbo shrimp fried rice. Everything was delicious.“

“The food here is good no bs and they're fast but they're kind of pricey. I don't know when or why Chinese food has gotten so high but they need to chill on the prices. Egg foo young and a large rice should never be damn near 30.00. It cost nothing to make this type of food so yeah good but expensive for no reason.“

“Best best pho ever. I get pho combo each time. Egg rolls are delicious and wings are delicious I always come here for a few years now. Pleasant servers. Cordial and accommodating.“

“Service is still great … but when closed then reopened, the quality of the food is now NOTICEABLY DIFFERENT (worse). Different chef, perhaps? Not sure what I mentioned it because I always order the same thing chicken with black bean and garlic sauce. The last two times I ordered it after they reopened they used dark meat and it was always always always white meat chicken. Also, the sauce is different. Something’s changed, but I’m just not sure what. It’s still my favorite Chinese restaurant in the south suburbs but they can do better. I say that because they’ve been better.“

“I always enjoy ordering from Grand Chinese. Workers are always courteous and the food is always delicious. I used to go to Hoe Toy on Stony Island but the original owners sold it I believe and the food wasn't the same. I found out about Grand Chinese and now they are my go to spot for Chinese food.“

“C & J has the best mixed vegetables, fried rice, egg rolls, & sesame chicken. & you can get a meal for a reasonable price. My mother introduced me to this place when I was a little girl. She would get the sweet & sour chicken w/ eggrolls to share with me. Now I've introduced my child to C& J. It still tastes the same. 10/10!“

“I would’ve gave them 5 stars because the food is great and the service was great too. However, I ordered Shrimp fried rice and they add beef and chicken to it. I had to pick the chicken and beef out of my fried rice while eating it. Other than that everything was good. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long while. “I've passed this place probably a thousand times over the last 20 years. I never bothered to go in here because I thought it was closed down. I started working a new job a few doors down from this restaurant when I realized they were actually opened. I went into this location because I needed something to eat fast and much to my surprise it was a very good. The vegetable egg rolls were top-tier and the fried rice was fresh and tasty. I will definitely go back it was surprisingly delicious.“

“I gave up on Good Chinese food in this area a long time ago. I moved back to this part of Merrillville and now First Wok is my goto! The Beef and vegetable Chow Mei Fun is absolutely the best I ever had in my life! The eggs rolls are done perfectly also.“

“Food serving just keep getting smaller and smaller. I miss the old days when you can stop here after school and get ur moneys worth. Oh don’t bother ordering online. I placed an order online & was given a time to pick up. I get to this establishment and was told they never received my order. Smh so i even up having to place my order again at the counter and wait . Ended up missing my train smh“

“Food was wonderful and the lady behind the counter was super nice. I was over an hour late picking up my order because of unforeseen delays, and she made sure that everything was hot when I got there. They definitely prefer cash which is understandable seeing as credit cards charge them money. I'll be back. Food was incredible.“

“Have been a loyal customer to this restaurant for over 40 years and have continued to patronize it despite the inconsistency of food quality. Although I have always been treated kindly when I pick up my order, I can see why patrons complain about management, not overly friendly. It is in serious need of an update as peeling wallpaper and drab interior, regardless of the fact you can’t be seated for a meal, leaves one wondering how kitchen is kept up. At one time it was best Chinese food around, not so anymore.“
