“Wow! Talk about the gem of China right in Chicago! We heard tremendous things about this place, the incredible food and new owners! The brothers at the front were super friendly and helpful and the food was quick, hot, well seasoned and delicious! We came from Cali and it was worth the trip!“

“This place is SO GOOD. As a big soup lover, I crave this place all the time. The pickled fish soup, which is their signature is the best thing. Everything is so flavorful and nicely portioned. The ambience is also very nice and service is great.“

combo fried flat rice noodles were pure perfection! sichuan wonton and fried rice were also top notch. the dongo chicken special we had was flavorful but we didn’t know it was served cold. overall, the place is excellent and the server was friendly
opon our second visit we also ordered the dry chili chicken, flat rice noodles, sichuan wontons, and wonton soup. the egg drop soup was the only we didn't like but everything else was 10/10!“

“I was looking for some tasty fried rice. I read the reviews and I ordered chicken fried rice for myself and jumbo shrimp fried rice for my husband. Our rice dishes were delicious!! I'm so glad that I decided to order! We also got egg rolls that were more like spring rolls. They were yummy too! The customer service was friendly and welcoming. I will most definitely be ordering again to try other menu items 😋“

“My family and I traveled to Chicago twice this year and dined at the Asian Cuisine Express both times. The owner, cooks and wait staff were all extremely friendly and made each of our visits a wonderful experience. We ordered Chinese and Japanese food and we also sampled some of their new delicious tacos... everything we tried was absolutely fantastic. We live 300 miles away so we ordered a lot of takeout to bring home with us to share with our friends who didn't get to make the trips. Asian Cuisine express will be a regular stop now for us every time we go to Chicago... we highly recommend everyone tries this restaurant and we can't wait until we visit there again. Thanks to all the great people at Asian Cuisine Express!!!“

“I really love this place. I've gone a couple of times and I always leave happy with a full belly. Portion sizes are very good and you can tell they care about the ingredients. It feels like the kitchen really knows how to incorporate Szechuan spice into all their dishes. The atmosphere is a very relaxed style, and the servers are kind and helpful, always making sure everything is clean and organized and our waters are full (the food is spicy so you'll be drinking lots of water). My favorite dish is the toothpick lamb, but there's such a big menu so I have much more to try. Check them out!!!“

“My first time there, and the food was great. Service was okay. But large portions- they’re very busy but try their best to accommodate everyone. Clean restrooms and restaurant. I would go back.“

“Number 1 rule is undefeated!
The food is pretty good but there’s no place like home: The dim sum just doesn’t compare to what you can get in NYC - Chinatown, 8th, or Flushing. The naw mai gai kind of skimps on meat and is mostly rice. They don’t have daikon (turnip) cake, my favorite. Rice rolls are pretty damn good. Ribs are pretty damn good.
Prices are okay.
The service sucks here.“

“I've lived in Chicago for over 70 years. The last time we visited Chinatown was over 10 years ago. We decided to check out Emperor"s choice restaurant on Wentworth/Cermak. The best decision ever. Hank was a awesome waitperson! He even brought out 5 different noodles for me to pick out the one I wanted. From drinks, appetizers, and main entrees, everything was delicious and worth the price which was quite reasonable. We'll be back!“

“I had always walked .past this place, but finally decided to drop in. The food was really delicious! It’s also perfect to share with a group of people. Personally prefer the dumplings fried, but either way is good. For sure I will be coming back“

“Grand Palace is a reliable spot for delicious Chinese food in the area. The ingredients tasted fresh, and every dish we ordered came out hot and well prepared. The service was efficient and friendly, which made the whole experience smooth and relaxing.“

“Had one of their beef skewers and a spicy squid plate, that combo kind of made my night. The beef had that slight char and stayed really juicy, not chewy at all, just that steady drip of fat onto the bread they give on the side. Squid came out with this deep red sauce, not just heat, some kind of mellow spice underneath, fingers stained for a while. Music inside was a bit loud for me, tbh, but the grill smoke smelled legit.“

“This is actually one of our favorite restaurants in Chinatown, it’s really underrated.
They have a great selection of breakfast and Chinese dishes: the Chong Fun (rice rolls) and Sauerkraut Fish are some of our favorites.
There’s also a good selection of drinks.
It’s a huge plus that they aren't as crowded or hectic as other restaurants in Chinatown Square.“

“A very delicious and authentic restaurant. The service was pleasant and attentive. For the first time in five years, I finally had real 锅包肉 and 地三鲜, although the 家常莲菜 was a little too sour and a bit soggy. Still, I will definitely come back here again!“

“It's my BIRTHDAY!! My daughter and son ( Ricky) took me to dinner, I requested this place... knowing my meal would be fun 🥰 saving my children money! What a FEST! We enjoyed the abundance of quality meets ( beef wagu, ribeye, lamb shank) vegetables, seafood, dessert all types of breads! It was actually my Server birthday as well, Ke Ke! She explained the menu and helped us to made the right choice. Thank you to everyone made my birthday extra SPECIAL! YUMMY!“

“Was pleasantly surprised to see such a highly rated Chinese spot so close to my neighborhood. Was unpleasantly surprised to see that even though we are only 10 minutes away, we are outside the delivery zone (60624). We ended up ordering take out in spite of this because the prices were so good. I am baffled that Garfield Park is outside the delivery zone for a place that is basically next door in Douglass park-- it made me bump the service rating from 5 to 3.
We ordered two lunch specials and a taro smoothie, which was a substitution because they did not have papaya. A kind lady called to let me know about the papaya, which I appreciated.
The portions were huge especially considering we chose the lunch special. The food was great, exactly what I was looking to eat. I think they threw in some free egg rolls and tapioca for the smoothie mix-up, which I appreciate.
We will be back, it hit the spot.“

“Food is fresh and excellent. I find it to be one of the best in the area. Non greasy, good flavor, service is ok, but when they attend to you, you have their undivided attention. I have been there a few times, and it does not vary. It is also very clean, with large tables and booths.“

“I guess the years have changed Harmony. This was always my go to spot, but today something changed. The food took forever to arrive, the taste was no longer on point and the whole atmosphere just wasnt right. Im sorry, its gone backwards and the paper towels overflowed the men's room.“

“I LOVED the food so much. Only place I have been that reminds me of China. Note, I am not Chinese, but visited Beijing and it was my favorite food in the world. The fish was my favorite in the City.
The noises sucked so people with sensory issues just be prepared and maybe sit away from the front and in the corner.
The self service process is really nice. Took a little bit to understand, but it is an order for the table and worked great. We ordered way too much since the entrees are family style.“

“This is literally my favorite place in Chinatown. It is such a hole in the wall and food is so authentic that only mainlanders go here. You have to go downstairs in the basement of the king karaoke place. This is a no frills place - you go up to order and pick up the food when it’s ready. The portions are made to share. I highly recommend the eggplant port dish and the pickled cabbage fish soup!“

“I've ordered a few times using UberEats. So glad they are near enough because I have enjoyed every meal I've gotten so far! I sometimes want vegetarian (tofu) food, & theirs is delicious! I love the smoothies (especially when it's BOGO). They make their steamed edemame just the way I like. Honestly, I hope to keep having great meals from them because other Chinese restaurants near me have become more disappointing as the years go by. ❤️“

“The value for quality here is amazing. The dumplings were generously filled. From the texture, I could tell the filling was made with quality meat. The steamed ones were just slightly oversteamed with slightly dried out pleated tops. It wasn't enough to bother me personally but might bother others.“

“This is the second time we've ordered from here, and the food tastes great.
We ordered KUNG BAO DELIGHT, and it was very tasty, and the portion was very large.
We also ordered COMBINATION FRIED RICE, and it tasted great, but I asked to make spicy, and they didn't prepare it properly.
We also ordered EGG ROLLS, and they were delicious and a good size, but the CRAB RAGOONS were good, but a little over-fried.
Highly recommended.“

“I've visited this location several times over the past few years, and my experiences have generally been positive. One recurring issue has been the long wait times during busy hours, with waits sometimes stretching close to two hours before being seated. Even so, we kept coming back because it's conveniently located near our home, and we always enjoyed the variety of food on the menu.
When we visited again yesterday afternoon, we were happy to see there wasn't a wait, and we were seated almost immediately. Everything seemed to be going well, and the service was friendly as usual. Unfortunately, after getting home, I started feeling sick, and by today my stomach has been bothering me constantly. Based on how quickly the symptoms appeared, I believe I may have gotten food poisoning from something I ate during the visit. I can't say for certain which menu item caused the problem, but I know I felt perfectly fine beforehand.
This experience was really disappointing because we've supported this restaurant for a long time. The meal itself tasted normal, so the illness came as a complete surprise. I hope this was just an isolated incident and not something that happens regularly. I understand that mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but getting sick after eating is difficult to overlook. The location has always been convenient, and we've had many enjoyable meals here in the past. The atmosphere has generally been pleasant, and the staff has usually treated us well. That's what makes this experience even more unfortunate. At this point, we've decided that we won't be returning. I truly hope the restaurant reviews its food safety practices so that other customers don't have a similar experience.“

“Incredible food and wonderful customer service! Our lovely server recommended the egg tofu with pea tips and beef short ribs with black pepper sauce. And she was right! Both dishes were authentic and satisfying. The tofu was so flavorful and the beef was tender. The owner shared with us that this is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. We will definitely be back to support!“

“went last night with my son. very rushed. I ordered a meal with spring rolls as an appetizer. they came with my meal, not before. my son ordered a chicken and rice meal, took a bitr and hated it. they refused to take it off my bill. 88$ for a meal for my sonnamd I and he didn't eat his meal. didn't offer another meal or anything. other restaurants would have made it right. theives. my left overs leaked through my bag going home. nor happy. we also felt obligated to tip even though server was rude and dint know about the 20% charge that's automatically charged“

“A literal hole in the wall, but a hidden gem. I’ve been ordering from here since 2010 and the food has always been delicious. The portions sizes are big enough for two people even if you order a small size. The lady at the window is always kind and happy to help. I definitely recommend ordering from here!“

“This restaurant offers flavorful and delicious Cantonese style food with reasonable prices. I have to say that this restaurant blows away many of the restaurants in the main Chinatown area. It's a bit farther away but it's well worth it. Plus you don't have to fight the congestive traffic and finding a parking space in Chinatown. All 5 dishes taste fresh and very delicious. We did instruct the kitchen not to put too much salt and the food is perfect. Highly recommend. This is a must try restaurant, period!“

“Lucky Bamboo is a wonderful restaurant! Sometimes they get busy, so you need to call in advance. But the food is delicious. Truly some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. And the owners are really nice people too! I highly recommend this place. Honey shrimp and Hong Kong chicken are my favs! Thank you!“
