“My husband and I stopped by last weekend on our kid-free day to check out the cigar lounge. We were immediately greeted by staff (cannot remember the gentleman’s name) and I told them this was our first time. He walked us through the whole process, made us feel comfortable and like we were friend’s we haven’t seen in years! The gentleman recommended the best cigars, told us to go sit down and they would handle the rest… super friendly staff, clean establishment. My husband and I will most definitely be back!“

“Great experience!! Small little place with great character. I've seen several questions about the setup for concerts. Standing room only but there is a Hightop behind the bar with 10 or so seats. There is open door in the back the leads to where you can get food and play pinball“

“This brewery has such a great food! You can grab a beer inside and take it outside with your food from any of the vendors, which makes for a nice, relaxed setup.

One tip: check the menus posted on the door, then follow the signs to find the food vendors. It can be a little confusing to navigate at first, so just give yourself a minute to figure out the flow.

“It’s exactly the way I’ve always dreamed of a local place. Traci, the owner, comes by and recommends a drink. She tells you the story of the musician that is playing tonight. Her husband, Brian, is behind the bar and pouring himself another wine. He doesn’t want to chat like Traci does, but he is fussing over the food menu. Making sure it is perfect. Helping the musician make sure the sound is right. People keep bustling in and out from the neighborhood. You recognize them, clasp their hand and act like you remember their name. You will get it next time. The musician is amazing. This time it’s a guy with an epic mustache, a keyboard and he has 1032 songs that he can sing. Last time you came it was a woman with a guitar with an amazing voice. Before that it was a jazz duo with a saxophone. They are playing your requests between original songs. You can’t believe this place is real. It’s like you’ve always imagined. Like you always wanted. The food is good. The bartenders are friendly and know their craft. Your friends show up and Traci asks the people next to you at the bar if they can move over one seat to let them sit next to you. They join in the conversation and you recognize them the next time you come in. It’s simply amazing. Live music every Friday and Saturday and other days for events. Love this place. “Great vibe with outdoor seating and a dark, artsy interior with a large mural and imperfect stars and multicolor xmas lights hanging from the ceiling. Food and drink are just ok but nothing to write about. Food you can order via QR code at the tables.

Typically, coffee cafes close at 3:00 p.m. making it impossible to get an after dinner coffee but thanks to Thieves there is now a place to go. Friendly service and well made espresso.“

“Called them to host my 21ST birthday party last week and they were AMAZING. The manager answered all my questions and made me feel heard(even though I called him multiple times), and when I got there they had already reserved the space for me, the servers were sweet and attentive and so so kind. The atmosphere was laid back and fun and even my family and friends said it was a really really nice spot. Would definitely go back! And the food definitely didn’t hurt either! “Portions are huge. Had the sloppy joe and it was the best sloppy joe I've ever had. My son in law had the ribeye sandwich and it was a huge ribeye. He said it was excellent. Prices very good. Nice selection of craft beer. Erin the bartender was outstanding! Great service! Only downside is the smoking for me. Come from a state where smoking isn't allowed indoors at restaurants, pubs, bars so an adjustment for me. Overall was a great experience.“

“There's a certain magic that happens in bars that stopped worrying about impressing anyone a long time ago. Silver Dollar has it. The lighting is dim in that way that feels accidental rather than designed. The stools have some wobble to them. Nobody's mistaking this for a cocktail lounge, and honestly, that's the whole point.
What Silver Dollar sells isn't polish, it's proximity. Sit at the bar long enough and the line between stranger and regular starts to disappear. Someone will ask what you're drinking. Someone else will tell you a story you didn't ask for but end up glad you heard anyway. The bartenders have this easy confidence, like they've heard every version of every bar story there is and still make you feel like yours is the good one. A lot of that comes down to the owner, honestly. That kind of hospitality doesn't get built by accident.
The events here don't feel like calendar filler either. They feel like the neighborhood actually showing up for itself, which is rarer than it should be these days.
Is it rough around the edges? Sure. But that roughness is part of the charm, not something working against it. Silver Dollar isn't chasing a trend. It's just doing the one thing a good dive bar is supposed to do, which is make you feel like you belong there whether it's your first time in or your fiftieth.
If you want craft cocktails and a curated playlist, look elsewhere. If you want the real thing, cold beer, good people, and a bar that actually means something to the block it sits on, Silver Dollar's got you covered.“

“I'll start by saying I was pleasantly surprised by this place and would definitely recommend it. First of all, the outside had me a little worried, but the inside was clean (so were the bathrooms!) and the staff was very friendly. They had a large selection bar and we had a drink while we ordered food to go (drinks and food were both reasonably priced).

We got the pulled pork quesadilla (10/10 the best thing we had), pork tenderloin sandwich (potential for greatness, but was overcooked), and the ribs (the Shanghai BBQ sauce wasn't for me, but I'm very picky about my ribs and these could be my new favorite anyway as they were so fall apart tender and delicious; just get the regular BBQ sauce instead IMO). We also got a side of very good battered fries, battered onion rings, and coleslaw that had a touch of some seasonings I couldn't place, but they were good.

All in all, would very highly recommend and my family can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu! I couldn't find a menu on their website, but the picture I'm posting is current as of Aug/9/2026.

Edit: We spent $65 pre-tip (but that also included drinks) and we still had leftovers. No complaints about the portions for the price 👍🏽“

“I travel to Indy once or twice a year, and I make sure I stop at KSR for food and drinks. By far the best family-owned bar and restaurant I have visited in Indy. I highly recommend this place. Do not judge by appearance (which I believe makes it a better experience). The pizza, wings, and sandwiches are off the charts. Hell, the salads look amazing, and I am not a big salad fan. “We held our October 2022 wedding ceremony and reception at Liter House and loved the experience! Drew and the whole event staff were helpful, kind, and easy to work with. We loved our brunch reception with delicious breakfast food and classic Sahm’s coffee cake. The event space is warm, inviting, and the right size to host lots of different types of weddings or gatherings. Also, the location is perfect - the Monon trail is a gorgeous place for pictures and features a lot of cool artwork/murals. I definitely recommend checking out Liter House for your event!“

Brisket 8.5. Bark was very good, and the meat fell apart. Pork 7.8. Smoked well, was just dry Chicken Breast 8.8 Best thing we tried here for sure. Smoked wings 6.5. Very good flavor, but it was super dry Turkey. 7.9. Thick and smoked well, just a little to dry for us Sausage 8.0. Good flavor with a little heat Also, the pickled onions were outstanding. “I go here multiple times a month, and trust me when I say it’s not the closest to my house. It’s a tiny hole in the wall, but it reminds me of bars back home on the gulf coast. It’s tiny and comfortable, and other than the regular crowd who sit at the bar all of the time everyone else is always different every night.“

“This was our first time going to this establishment under new management. We arrived fairly early and were able to enjoy the music, a Cigar, and some drinks before it got crowded. The ambiance was great and the décor was appealing. The ventilation was very good. Even if you weren't a smoker, the cigar smoke was never an issue! I appreciate the clean restrooms and the comfortable seating. We were able to purchase cigars. However, I recommend you bring your own. They are on the pricey side. The young ladies were very friendly and attentive, and the bartender was able to make me a drink that I did not think they would be able to make, and it was on point! And on top of all of that, the best part was the DJ! Dj MJ was THE best DJ I've heard in a very long time. I didn't stop singing, moving, and dancing all night. He was so good that we felt compelled to tip him. Overall, we had a great experience and plan to revisit next weekend!“
