Come from a state where smoking isn't allowed indoors at restaurants, pubs, bars so an adjustment for me. Overall was a great experience.“

“My husband and I stopped by last weekend on our kid-free day to check out the cigar lounge. We were immediately greeted by staff (cannot remember the gentleman’s name) and I told them this was our first time. He walked us through the whole process, made us feel comfortable and like we were friend’s we haven’t seen in years! “Visited Sun King Carmel on a Sunday early evening. First visit at the ‘food court’ so a bit wandering and chaotic. There should be a court monitor stationed at a desk 1st floor middle of seating area right outside fenced area entrance from food court to access Sun King mostly to screen / prevent minors from entering the restricted area but didn’t know you could sit at a table in the general seating food court area and a Sun King server would visit to take your order as I just walked up to the Sun King bar counter and ordered myself unwittingly. Problem would be is likely a bit of a wait if I hadn’t self-ordered as it took about 10-15 minutes after I was seated for a server to check on my status after I sat at a table. But, the tab runs and the bartender tracks/forwards your order to the server and they finally track you down ultimately to pay the bill before you depart.

In the meantime, can partake the food court vendors for specialty cuisines yourself. Order and pick up food yourself and take to your table. If you can find a clean table top, as even though the food court wasn’t bysy, the tables weren’t all clean.

So Sun King has a limited variety on tap. The Osiris Pale Ale is mild not bitter so good and drinkable. But the Orange Vanilla Cream Ale is flavored similar to children’s orange aspirin icky I would not order it again.

Counter bar tender accommodating and server polite and courteous. Did check on me frequently after finding me seated.

Anyways if your first visit might be confusing the order delivery seating process. But go get it yourself or sit at a table and wait a bit and hope a server tends to you in a reasonable amount of time.“

Her husband, Brian, is behind the bar and pouring himself another wine. He doesn’t want to chat like Traci does, but he is fussing over the food menu. Making sure it is perfect. Helping the musician make sure the sound is right. People keep bustling in and out from the neighborhood. You recognize them, clasp their hand and act like you remember their name. You will get it next time. The musician is amazing. This time it’s a guy with an epic mustache, a keyboard and he has 1032 songs that he can sing. Last time you came it was a woman with a guitar with an amazing voice. Before that it was a jazz duo with a saxophone. They are playing your requests between original songs. You can’t believe this place is real. It’s like you’ve always imagined. Like you always wanted. The food is good. The bartenders are friendly and know their craft. Your friends show up and Traci asks the people next to you at the bar if they can move over one seat to let them sit next to you. They join in the conversation and you recognize them the next time you come in. It’s simply amazing. Live music every Friday and Saturday and other days for events. Love this place. Can’t recommend it enough.“

“My wife and I stopped by to play a few games of pool. Was crowded with league teams but we managed to get one of the two tables in the back room. I had just loaded it with money. He was looking all over and so distraught. Our waitress- Angela noticed this and tried to help. As we all combed the place - she went to her manager (andre) and told him about the situation while we were looking. Within 30 minutes he had a new card (they used my credit card to track the point card number down) and all of it was moved to a new card.
