“Nestled in an old home, this is top notch dining in the Hub. Great place for an intimate dinner or for a gathering of friends. Since it is an old house the seating it spread around so if you are there for a more intimate gathering, you will not be dominated by a rowdy get together of long lost friends. We are very happy that along with all that, we also got to meet you and be a recipient of your great service. You did everything in the right amount. Timing of your appearance upon introduction, timing of requested drink (water) to the table, timing of the requested food items (soup and salad) to the table, timing of checking on us, and the amount of times you checked on us was not intrusive. So, from the beginning to the end you could not have done a single thing better. “Not sure if they're affiliated, but we had eaten at the Schererville location and liked it so we' thought we'd try the Merrillville location this time around. Really love the decor inside and out, as well as the atmosphere. We were greeted warmly by a gentleman who may have been a manager? Seated right away. This was at 5:30 on a Saturday and not very crowded so that was nice. Our waiter took a bit of time to greet us, but once we ordered our drinks they came fairly quickly. Not so much with the food. Mexican restaurants are notoriously quick when it comes to delivering your food right away so I was actually okay with having a bit of extra time before eating. That said everything was slow thereafter. I was out of water and never got a refill. Took a minute for the waiter check in after we finished our food. Needed boxes and again, after delivering therm, he was MIA. Finally got the check.
All of the employees were friendly and professional, I just felt like the waiter could have been a bit more attentive.
Food was good (nacho fajitas and tacos) and i would definitely consider returning.“

“When we first moved to NWI, we first visited Pops when they were located closer to Jewel. At first, when we ordered our beef juicy, the beef was still dry. Over the years, they have gotten better. The beef is juicy, tender, and tasty. So juicey that now, they wrap your beef and then put your wrapped beef inside a plastic bag for take out orders. The beef here is much better than the overrated beef sandwich at Portillos. The large order of fries is enough to share.“
