“We recently hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome reception at Rye Leawood and we had an incredible experience. From early on in the planning process to the event itself, the experience was expectational. They went above and beyond. India, the Event Manager, was so helpful with the planning of the room design, food menu, and beverage menu. Everything I requested she delivered on - the perfect layout of the room to accommodate the rehearsal dinner followed by the welcome reception to the entire menu being gluten and dairy free. She answered every email in a timely manner and met with me multiple times to over questions I had. She was so great to work with. The food was delicious! Every dish from appetizers to desserts was beautifully presented and so flavorful - I didn't know GF/DF could be so delicious. We have received so many compliments about the menu. The service was outstanding. The staff was so professional. They know how to work an event - incredibly efficient and attentive. Our guests were well taken care of. The entire event ran so smoothly. If you are looking for a venue for your special event, I highly recommend Rye Leawood - amazing food, outstanding service and an incredible experience. Our event was unforgettable. “this is the second time we have eaten at Yard House for their Happy Hour. We shared a few 1/2 price appetizers and had drinks. The food is wonderful, especially the boneless chicken wings and the black pepper dipping sauce. Nice place to enjoy some great food, catch up with friends and not spend a fortune. “We didn't know quite what to expect but knew this jazz club got the best ratings in Kansas City so we purchased the Ambassador hotel's package. The entire experience was fantastic! It was far beyond our expectations. Lonnie is an outstanding entertainer, musician, singer and tap dancer. He brings a mountain of enthusiasm that kept us smiling and entertained throughout the show. His musicians are terrific too! Lonnie's Reno Club is a must-experience if you are in Kansas City and have any interest in live jazz performance. The hotel's package that includes Lonnie's show is also highly recommended.“

“Amazing! We put off visiting this local spot down the street for too long. Finally made it over for my birthday and it was incredible. The rustic decor and intimate atmosphere were just an awesome compliment to the simple, grounded but deep meal. We talked about all the flavors we were still experiencing long after we cleared a plate. The coctails were top notch but were outshined by the curated sake flight. No notes, simply perfect, we will be back.
Edit: got home and checked our recipt and realized that we never got one of our appetizers. Unfortunate, but I can't bring myself to lower my rating from 5 stars it was that good!“

“I like how right when you walk in the staff makes an effort to seat you whether you had a reservation or not. I do recommend a reservation because it gets busy! The food is good and there are great non-alcoholic drink options like kombucha.“

“Me and my mom stopped by while in town for a concert and everything literally was PERFECT. we have been raving in the car since leaving and Tiffany was the most perfect server that we were blessed with. We had the pretzel app, the stockyard fries, and the mac and cheese with bacon and everything was out quickly and again, absolutely astonishing!!! much love to Tiffany, and because she was so proactive we got to the concert DEAD ON time.“

“First time going here and could not have been happier. To start, our server Ashley was simply amazing. Very attentive and answered every question we had, and made some amazing recommendations. The bread appetizer is a must! Had the wedge salad and it was amazing as well. My wife got the pork chop and I had the flank steak. Both dishes were incredible. “Thanksgiving at Grand Street this year was an absolute home run.\n\nI booked a 3:30 Thanksgiving Day seating and went in expecting “good for a holiday buffet.” What I got was way closer to a full-on, white-tablecloth feast that just happened to be all-you-can-eat.\n\nThe buffet spread alone was insane: silky mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, roasted root veggies, rich gravy, Brussels sprouts, green bean casserole, stuffing, cranberry sauce, multiple salads, rolls, ham, roast turkey and a prime rib carving station. Nothing tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp—everything was hot, well-seasoned, and felt like someone actually cared when they made it.\n\nThe turkey was moist (which never happens on buffets), the prime rib was tender and juicy, and the classic sides were exactly what you want on Thanksgiving: comforting, not over-complicated, and executed really well. The roasted veggies and Brussels sprouts had great texture, not that sad mushy buffet vibe.\n\nDesserts were downright dangerous: pecan pie, apple pie, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake, assorted cookies, and these ridiculous chocolate ganache brownies. The pumpkin cheesecake and the brownies were worth the trip by themselves.\n\nService was just as strong as the food. Plates were cleared quickly, waters and sodas were constantly topped off, and the bartender was *on it*—adult beverages came out fast and made it to the table without us ever feeling like we were waiting around. For a busy holiday service, everything ran impressively smooth. No cold food, no undercooked anything, no “sorry, we’re out of that.” Just steady, generous refills and a staff that clearly had their act together.\n\nBottom line: Grand Street turned what could’ve been a chaotic holiday buffet into a legit, stress-free Thanksgiving experience. Plentiful food, killer execution, and sharp service. I’d happily take my family here as a Thanksgiving tradition—absolutely worth it.“
