“Love, love, love Poblanos. I've been eating their fabulous rice bowls since they had their first location on W. Central many years ago. I'm sure the rest of their food is excellent too, but I love, love, love their rice bowls and choice of ingredients - white or brown rice, beef (or chicken or other protein), sauteed veggies, cheese, cilantro, black olives, peppers and choice of 5 salsas varying in heat level (i choose the middle one which has a little heat but not too much.) . Be sure to have them put lots of extra broth from the meat on your bowl. I had a rice bowl at Fuzzy's the other day and it doesn't come close to the delicious rice bowls at Poblanos. I'd never order one of theirs again.“

“Felipe’s Jr. is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Wichita and definitely one of my regular go-to spots. It’s family-owned, consistently good, and they’ve got a huge menu with plenty of excellent options.

I’ve tried a lot of different things here over the years. The carnitas are outstanding, the birria tacos are excellent, and the Monterrey's are another favorite. Most of the time, though, I go with the beef enchiladas smothered in chili con carne along with whole beans. Their chili con carne is especially good, and both the whole beans and charro beans are excellent.

The restaurant is spacious, clean, well maintained, and the service has always been friendly and efficient. It’s also very family-friendly, with plenty of room, a kids’ menu, and easy parking.

If you’re looking for consistently great Mexican food, generous choices, and a comfortable family-run restaurant, Felipe’s Jr. is absolutely worth a visit. Five stars from me.“

My food was delivered quickly and I sat and waited and waited with my husband for his meal. Finally we flagged down our server and asked her where his meal was and she acted surprised that we were expecting anything else. She was very apologetic. Blamed the radio conversation over her headset for having missed his order completely, however, when she originally took our order she repeated his order back to him, so Im not sure what happened, but she didnt input his order until at least 10 minutes AFTER I received my meal. The facility was clean, and nicely lit. We both said we'd be willing to go back and try again to see if the experience was better.“

“This place is great. The food is very delicious every time. Their portions are awesome for the prices. I enjoy that they do daily specials. My favorite part is that they are open late. I get off at 2am and they have been there and got me hooked up for the late night eats. I wish the hours were a bit more clear but I know it’s a 1-2 man show and they have lives. So it’s understandable. I’ve been here four times in the last two weeks and I’m typing this sitting in the drive through right now. Thank you guys for the good food.“

“I live just down the street from this establishment and OMG I am so glad I went inside one day on my walk, I had a LG Cheese Quesadilla with their special sour cream OMG OMG OMG it was like pure heaven. Their cheese is AMAZING and I had it paired with a LG Melon Drink and that as well was AMAZING and super refreshing I ordered a large barrel of the drink for my friend and at work so they could try it too. “Lived in Wichita for 34 years. It took a LONG time to find El Rancho! Not everyone's cup of tea - if you want atmosphere = Carlos. Wichita "tradition" = Felipe's (we hate it). Expensive = Abuelos. Old school = Connie's. But El Rancho is our favorite. Inexpensive, AUTHENTIC, some of the best Chile Rellenos ever -- and we've been to Olvera St. in L.A. and had good Mex in AZ and Colorado. Tamales are great, too. No chips & salsa - they just fill you up anyways, before the real stuff is served.“
