“BEST DINING IN KC AREA!!!! I have eaten in great restaurants around the world, and Story continues to be one of the best I have ever experienced. If you have never been there, GO! If you have been, but not gone back, GO! Two of us went last night and shared 5 different items, all were incredible. Their green salad is so fresh and flavorful, I dream about this salad; I love the hint of mint and pistachios too! The gazpacho was lovely, and the tiny fresh corn kernels garnish had a little mouth-bursting experience that was subtle yet fantastic! And I cannot say enough great things about the heirloom tomato salad; the goat cheese schmeer was lovely, as was the dressing. And I'm not sure what the garnish was, but it added a little bit of a delicate crisp. The main event though in this dish were the incredible tomatoes, and can I shout from the rooftops - they were peeled! How often does a restaurant, or anyone for that matter, peel tomatoes? Well, we all should! They are so much sweeter this way, and it helped enhance the delicate flavors in this dish! Also, we had the lobster tagliatelle, and it was awesome, as always. The sauce was flavorful but also delicate enough to allow the sweet flavor of the lobster to come through, and the homemade pasta was perfect! Dessert was a special butter cake with a blueberry compote, which was an excellent close for this lite dinner. I must also note their wine selection by the glass is carefully curated and wonderful, and their cocktails are fantastic as well, and customizable. OH - and I cannot get enough of their housemade bread and butter- I'm just saying! Although we didn't have the halibut last night, I've had it many times before and it is always fantastic! Service is incredible here, too, and the ambiance aligns with the rest of the fantastic dining experience! Hats off to owners Chef Carl and Susan Thorne-Thomsen! Carl has taken his earlier career Michael Smith experience to a whole new level! DO NOT MISS this hidden gem!!!“

While there was a slight issue with my husband's steak, which was initially prepared well-done instead of the requested medium, the staff was very attentive. The chef promptly prepared another steak for my husband, and they were very apologetic about the mistake. Additionally, they kindly offered us a complimentary dessert. Overall, we were quite satisfied with the experience, understanding that it was a busy Saturday evening, and we did not make a major issue of it.“

“The Antler Room cannot disappoint. We've been back 4 times since our first visit. The seasonal menu changes are always lovely and every dish gets us talking and marveling at how the kitchen consistently delivers such cohesive and wonderful dishes. The Local Peaches with cucumber and burrata is a perfect, refreshing start and the Shokupan smoked trout on milk toast is out of this world. Ready to go back to try the rest.

“Maybe KC's first Michelin star? Probably too soon to say, but this is a dining experience like nothing else local. Every single item was perfection, and purposeful, and delicious. Beautiful atmosphere, and excellent service too. The owner makes a point to visit every table and he seems like a really great guy (and certainly a stellar chef and restauranteur). My favorite thing was probably the chicken wings. Nothing pedestrian about them. I also loved the yuzu sake.“

The pretzel appy was freshly-made. The burger wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but the beet patty was unique, generously loaded with toppings, and overall pretty tasty.“

“We traveled from South Carolina to visit family and they took us to Brewer's Kitchen. The food was exceptional. Each burger option is unique, fresh cut fries seasoned just right. The fact that everything is locally sourced is a plus in my book. The staff was friendly and caring. Give Brewer's Kitchen a try and you'll go back.“

“Room 39 was the perfect spot for my only night in Kansas City. I made the mistake of deciding to go vegetarian, right before I visited a city famous for its bbq meat! So glad I found this gem of a restaurant. I had a perfect table by the window, with the radiator under the table making it cozy and toasty. The cocktails and dishes were fantastic - two Boulevardiers, a Brussels sprout soup, gnocchi with goat cheese, and the flourless chocolate cake with Earl Grey tea. My server Tory was terrific. I can’t recommend it highly enough.“

I ordered steak frites/ the meat was surprisingly soft and the salad was just right- hard to achieve, fries were burnt. It took one hour for the food to arrive, the steak was literally cold. Despite all the wrongs: I loved the place and the vibe. We will be back, hopefully with better food service“

“We were seated right away in the wine cellar. Our server, Chris, was excellent. Answered our questions and explained the menu. We were there celebrating my wife's birthday and he treated her very special. The flood was outstanding. We both had the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly. Very enjoyable experience.“

“Took my son here 12/21. We are both drummers and thought this would be a cool experience and Drum Room did not disappoint. He had the Salmon, I got the brick chicken. That's a dish that will stay on your mind. Excellent overall experience. You can tell the kitchen is operated by actual chef's. Bar staff were very friendly. We'll be returning for sure. If you're in downtown KC MO and you're looking for actual great food, I highly recommend.“

“I had the Omaha Reuben with French Fries. Your choice of Corned Beef or Turkey, I got the CB. Very generous portions. The Thousand Island dressing complimented the tangy sauerkraut. The cheese was warm and nicely melted over the tender Corned Beef. The bread held up well and did not get too soggy. The fries had a nice homestyle flavor and just crispy enough.

Overall, a great Reuben and a great value at $17. Very filling so no room for dessert. Friendly service and one of my best hotel meals. None better anywhere if you love Reubens.“
