“Bourbons Bistro has long been a favorite, and we had another great experience. It was date night, and we started with drinks at the bar. I enjoyed a Manhattan, and my date enjoyed an Old Fashioned. Both were nicely crafted. We were seated immediately at our table for our reservation time, and started with the goat cheese dip. It was flavorful, the consistency of the dip was perfect, and the toasted bread was done just right. For dinner I had the filet of beef, medium rare. My steak was cooked to perfection, and the fingerling potatoes were seasoned just right. My date enjoyed the Bourbons Chop, also cooked to perfection, and he stated the haricots verts was the best he ever had. Our server was great, and we enjoyed an amazing meal. Afterwards we moved back to the bar and enjoyed a couple of drinks provided by the Blue Run distiller bar take over. We had a great night out and Bourbons remains one of my favorite restaurants.“

“We took our out of town guests yesterday. Our server Jessica was amazing! She really made our night! (If you are reading this Jessica, y’all/yins did a great job! Lol.) Everyone loved their cocktails. The pork chop was very tasty and perfectly cooked, loved the shrimp and grits… so flavorful! The salmon was also delicious! We had the cheese and hummus plate as a starter and I was not a fan. The hummus was gummy and had an odd flavor. The rest of our group didn’t mind it. I could have had the bruschetta as my meal… yum! For dessert we had the bread pudding and asked to have some bourbon to pour on top (so good!), the lava cake (wow) and the brûlée (coffee flavored and very nice). We were the last to leave and Jessica and the rest of the staff treated us if we had all the time in the world. We so appreciated that! Our experience was so special! Thank you!“

The KJ(Mike Boughey) informed my wife that he wouldn’t let kids sing. Finally my daughter was allowed to sing. I just thought it was very unprofessional that the KJ was picking and choosing who was allowed to sing. We have traveled to all kinds of venues for karaoke, and this was the first time this has ever happened. Karaoke isn’t about have just top notch singers! It’s about having a good time, and it shouldn’t matter if you’re a great singer or not! The food was great! But as I stated the KJ was unprofessional!“

“Dined here with a couple friends yesterday late morning/early afternoon for a quick lunch/brunch. Super cute spot. We were seated quickly and the waitress was friendly. After ordering, the portion sizes were HUGE. The cornbread and honey were spot on.

“I only have 2 complaints regarding our visit. 1- We received 1 small pan of cornbread, for 4 people. We asked fir a second pan and was told we would be charged for it. I don't understand because if we were a table for 2, we would have received the same pan of cornbread? It shouldn't cost more $ because of more people, especially when the bill will be higher. 2- I asked for pepper, no salt or pepper on the table, and I never received any pepper? It seemed that the waiter was more interested in pushing uncharges and more drinks, than our needs.“

“While in Louisville, I took my mother to Fork & Barrel to celebrate her birthday (82!) with my brother and sister-in-law. The atmosphere is very relaxed with a come as you are kind of vibe. We ordered cocktails to toast her 82 years and we all chuckled when she ordered a Porn Star martini. She had never had a martini so better late than never, right? My SIL ordered that same. Their reactions couldn’t have been more different. It was too tart for my Mama, but my SIL loved it. For the table we tried the chicken wings with White Alabama BBQ sauce which I didn’t care for, but my family enjoyed. Mama ordered a ribeye which turned out to be bigger than her with a generous portion of au gratin potatoes and spinach which she thorough enjoyed. My brother ordered the pork chop with elote corn which he was wary of but ended up loving. My SIL also had a pork chop and not liking onions she was hesitant to try the bacon jam. But come on; it has bacon in it! She tried the teeniest bite deemed it just ok and proceeded to scrap it off. In response, my brother happily spread her bacon jam on his pork chop so ignore her actions. I ordered the short ribs with Boursin mashed potatoes and broccoli. If you’ve read my other reviews you know that my chef husband makes the most tender flavorful short ribs on the planet so any competitor has a high bar to hurdle. F&B’s short ribs were tender, but a little on the dry side and not as tender as I was hoping. Overall, F&B’s cocktails, atmosphere and generously portioned menu would be worth a second trip to try additional items. One note of disappointment, when I booked on OpenTable I indicated that we were celebrating a birthday. For some reason, F&B made no acknowledgement of the special occasion. In the past, any special occasion booked with OpenTable was celebrated without additional notification. No matter. We stopped for ice cream on the way home!“

I placed my order online late last night when I read about the fresh crab and scheduled to pick it up at 4 today. He cooked it all right there in front of me, everything fresh and tasty. “Stayed here for a weekend in August. Nice, clean, suburban hotel with restaurants and shopping all around and easy access to I-265 and I-71. Common areas were clean. Nice, big lobby with a lot of seating and space for families or groups. We were in a 1 Bedroom 2 room Suite, 1 King, Sofa bed room, which gave the three of us plenty of space. The bedroom was spacious as well. Internet worked well. Plenty of free parking.“

As a self-proclaimed frozen custard snob with a penchant for Planters chocolate in WNY, I was pleasantly surprised by Culver's hand-scooped version. While it lacked the familiar soft serve texture, the custard was undeniably rich and sweet with excellent flavor. However, Planters still reigns as my gold standard in the world of frozen custard. Nevertheless, Culver's provided a satisfying and enjoyable experience on my journey.“
