“There's nothing fancy about this restaurant -- but the food is fantastic and the service is great. We can't get enough of it and visit regularly, usually when we don't feel like cooking for ourselves. The food is richly flavored and consistently delightful. Most things are cooked with ghee rather than oil, which is more to our liking. Prices are reasonable, especially considering we frequently split each serving into multiple portions AND still go home with leftovers to enjoy the next day. I think we're a few visits away from being on a first-name basis with the staff/ownership; it's to really nice to see familiar faces every time we come in to dine. We can't recommend Shaan enough!Vegetarian options: We often only eat from the vegetarian selections of the menu, and we're always satisfied!Dietary restrictions: I can't eat anything made with Canola oil (aka Rapeseed Oil) -- there's none of this in any of their dishes as far as I am aware, though I've not asked about the kids' menu. “We stopped in today for lunch/dinner and it was our first time eating here. I got the fried chicken sandwich, my sister got a burger and my boyfriend got the nachos with smoked chicken. The chicken sandwich was one of the best chicken sandwiches that I have ever had and I haven’t had many of those and the fries were delicious. My sister said the same thing about her burger and my boyfriend really liked the nachos. The server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice, laid back and relaxed and the prices weren’t that bad. I will definitely be going back and I recommend to anyone who is reading this review who hasn’t been there yet.“

This is a women owned business that locally sources everything they make. The food did not disappoint! We tried the mocha and the cappuccino. Both were excellent! Probably the best coffee I have had in a long time. For food, we got the Avi scramble and the breakfast burrito. Both were really good. We also tried their pancake of the day - the mango crunch cake. It was delicious and light - not too sweet either! The service was prompt and they do a great job making sure you receive your food promptly. They were very attentive despite being busy!“

In the past year though the pizzas seem underdone when we’ve gotten them at the restaurant or done carry out…it makes us question now whether the price difference ($24-$28 for a Dewey’s vs $10-12 for a “chain pizza” ) is worth it! “I think Busken Bakery speaks for itself. I came to this Busken Bakery to pick up our holiday Schencken. There are several locations available for pickup. Last year I went to the Busken on Madison. This location has to be the busiest during the holidays. Parking was a challenge. Figuring out where to go for pickup was a challenge. For these reasons I decided to try the Highland Heights location. I'm so glad I did. First, getting there was a breeze! Get your car onto 471 and go until it ends and you're pretty much there. I used GPS to get there, but getting there was so simple, no GPS was needed to get home (we live in Delhi). If you are a once-a-year Busken shopper and Highland Heights is reasonably close, I recommend picking up there. I was in and out in nothing flat.“

I ordered the steak and ribs combo with loaded bake potatoe, and my steak was overcooked, and my potatoe didn't come with sour cream. The atmosphere is comfortable, well lit, and they play music. (Jazz at first and then metal. I asked if they could return to jazz and thankfully, they did.) The coffee was delicious, hot, and could be flavored with various additives and creamers. If you are in Northside and want to enjoy coffee and conversation, the Sidewinder is just the place!“
