“What an incredible experience. The place is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. We started our night with the house old fashioned cocktails. We ordered the bread basket with homemade brioche, foccacia, and jalapeño cheddar bread with flour de sel and sorghum butters. Every bite was worth it. I picked the lamb Campanella. My husband ordered steak and potatoes. Absolutely the best dinner we will have all year. We made reservations here for our anniversary, and we were treated to champagne and caramel popcorn creme brulee. This was the highlight of our trip - I would recommend to anyone to make reservations here!“

I didn’t have room to eat the fresh asparagus and I ordered a California cobb salad with jumbo shrimp and fresh lobster claw meat with avocado which I will have for lunch tomorrow. I placed my order online late last night when I read about the fresh crab and scheduled to pick it up at 4 today. He cooked it all right there in front of me, everything fresh and tasty. “I do NOT recommend this place. We went with a party of 15 this afternoon and had a truly disappointing, awful experience. We arrived shortly after they opened. We were the only ones on the outside patio the entire visit (just shy of 3 hours) and the inside dining room never got very busy, but you'd never guess by how terrible the service was. It took nearly 2 hours for (most of) our food to come out, and even then, several orders were wrong. Our drinks were rarely filled. Our waitress and other staff may have been stretched too thin, but did the manager ever come out to speak with us or try to make things right even once? nope! The food and beer prices are high and not worth the price. (Food arrived cool and tasted ok... not worth the prices.) No apologies were offered before we left after paying our expensive tabs. We will not be back. Don't waste your time! They clearly don't care about getting return customers.“

“Staff was the rudest I have ever encountered at the Middletown location. I also witnessed extreme rudeness to a door dash driver who had clearly been waiting a while and when they asked about the order having been marked 10 minutes ago as ready they were told "We don't care about YOUR numbers, we have to appear to be on time." He looked like management. I turned and left, I will not do business with someone being rude to staff or anyone providing a service to them any more than rudeness to customers.“

“This is an extremely clean and well kept “Fast food” restaurant. I say fast food in quotations because when you are seated and eating it feels nice and cozy like a sit down restaurant.
Food quality and taste is again amazing for fast food, and the service was also good and staff was very friendly.
The restaurant was extremely clean, with employees actively wiping down tables and maintaining the dining area.
Bathrooms were also exceptionally clean and well cared for.
We also found our food to be priced fairly, especially in comparison to other fast food chains all while maintaining a MUCH higher level of food quality than these other big names.

“Love this place. Mellwood Tavern gives you two completely different experiences under one roof, and both are worth checking out.

Downstairs is exactly what a great Louisville dive bar should be—laid back, unpretentious, and stocked with a really solid beer selection. The real star, though, is Tuesday night fried chicken, which might honestly be the best in Louisville. It’s crispy, flavorful, and absolutely worth planning your week around. And whatever you do, don’t skip the potato cakes—they’re the perfect side and honestly complete the whole meal.

Upstairs is a total contrast in the best way. The renovated private hangout space is quieter, well-appointed, and perfect if you want a more relaxed vibe. Between the dart boards, TVs, and comfortable setup, it’s an awesome place to watch whatever game you want, hang with friends, or spend a long night throwing darts without the chaos of the downstairs bar.

It’s rare to find a place that nails both the classic dive bar feel and a polished private hangout space, but Mellwood does it perfectly. Tuesday chicken alone is worth the trip. “

“Had a great experience at World of Beer last night! My friend and I sat at the bar, and Brian took awesome care of us the whole time. Super friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in.

We shared the mac and cheese bites, both got smash burgers with fries, and finished with the Triple Chocolate Brownie Tower. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The drinks were awesome too, especially the Intro to Hops flight and the Lexington Bourbon Barrel Ale.

“We are longtime customers of this location and often bring our four sons and our daughter-in-law. We know much of the waitstaff and they often drop by our table to say hello when we come in. Teka remembered that our youngest (who has autism) son had just graduated and is about to start his new job. We were there without kids but she had all the employees sign a card for him and give it to us to take home. He was thrilled and it was so kind, but very in character for Teka. She’s always very thoughtful and will take care of you like family. We are so touched at her thinking of Noah this way.“
