“Stopped here after a movie with some friends. It was an hour before closing so I expected worse but it wasn’t too bad. I took a risk with a 6 oz. sirloin (wasn’t entirely sure how good the steaks would be here since I’d never had a Chili’s steak) and it was actually pretty delicious. However this looked like the smallest 6 oz. sirloin I’d ever received in the many times I’ve ordered steak from other places in the past. I didn’t complain though and even tipped 22% at the end of my transaction. I would eat there again, except the dip trio I ordered didn’t leave me craving more. As a regular at authentic Mexican restaurants, this wasn’t the best queso I’ve ever had so would not recommend that. You can find much better alternatives elsewhere, so unless you’re not in a position to wait I’d pass the queso up. The guac I was served looked and even tasted good but taste wise, I’ve made it so much in the past that I’m a bit biased. I like mine better. This will get you by in a scrape though. It’s some of the better Tex-Mex guac I’ve tried. All in all my experience was positive.“

Tonight, we tried to just our fantasy football draft with them but our league failed to show. We’d planned on 15 but not even half showed up. But this team still honored their fantasy football draft party for us - gave us a TV to watch the game we wanted (and this went way beyond the call of service) and they still honored their discounts.

I also witnessed extreme rudeness to a door dash driver who had clearly been waiting a while and when they asked about the order having been marked 10 minutes ago as ready they were told "We don't care about YOUR numbers, we have to appear to be on time." Andy and his team have pulled off something I genuinely struggle to put into words. The genius here isn't rare truffles or gold leaf — it's the opposite. Decade takes homey, everyday ingredients, the kind you'd find in any grandmother's pantry, and transforms them into something you simply won't believe. Each plate builds on the last, flavors folding and unfolding in ways I didn't know food could do. Familiar comfort turned kaleidoscopic. Textures that caught me off guard, flavor combinations that made me stop mid-bite and just laugh. If you could have an acid trip on a dinner plate, this is it — and I mean that as the highest compliment possible. This is the most creative menu I have ever encountered, and I do not say that lightly.

But great food is only half the story. The care behind every course, the rhythm of the meal, the sense that this team genuinely loves what they do — it all came through. You feel looked after. You feel like you're sitting at the center of something special that's only just getting started.

And it is just getting started. I'm genuinely excited to watch the Decade restaurant group grow, because there's a vision here that deserves to reach far beyond Louisville. One personal hope: I understand the co-owner has roots in San Francisco. As someone who calls the Bay Area home, I would be first in line if they ever opened a spot out west. Please make that happen.
