“My first time here at J.Alexander's. So worth the trip from Lafayette. My entire meal has been remarkable. I ordered the red wine blend Parradoxx, which had a slight Pinot Nior flavor to it. I ordered a house salad with Blue Cheese dressing which was rich and full of woodsy flavors. My salad was a big hit with me. Vegetables were crisp and served with beautiful presentation. I ordered the Filet with Berinaise sauce and baked potatoe. It was cooked so perfectly that it was truly a work of art. For dessert I got the chocolate cake. I am not usually a chocolate fan at all but this did not disappoint!! The rich cocoa blended perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. Now for the service... my waiter, Ali, was so good. His knowledge of the menu was very good, but his quiet professionalism was undeniable. He checked all the boxes as to dressings and preparation, but he additionally checked for how and when you wanted everything served. Ali, eyes were constantly scanning to be certain that my meal and needs were being met. Now, I don't know anything about Ali, except that he was young, but he could have been at home in the finest restaurants in Chicago! His attention to detail made my incredible lunch even more spectacular! An incredible meal, prepared exquisitely, with a waiter like Ali! Just absolutely perfect!“

“Went for a 4 po-boy takeout and a 5 piece wings . They were very helpful and called me before to verify an item and order was ready before I got there and service was great. Softshell poboy was perfectly cooked and delicious . The cochon de lait was fabulous and the buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent.

My two gripes for the 4 star were the wings were tiny and I like big wings if I'm gonna spend that much . Second gripe is if I spend $100 on an orderr and tip you could throw me a french fries in there as none of the poboys come witth fries.“

I will go back just to sit and chat with Amber. As a regional manager for a restaurant group, I was impressed all around with her attentiveness that close to close. As a younger female no one ever speaks to me besides to take my order and she got to know me and made me feel welcome! She’s sweet as can be, I wish her all the best!“

“Dinner at Eliza in Baton Rouge felt like stepping into a quietly elegant celebration of Southern hospitality—warm, thoughtful, and deeply delicious from start to finish.

We began with drinks that set the tone beautifully: a Watermelon Gimlet—fresh, fragrant, and perfectly balanced—and a crisp, subtly spiced Basil Cucumber Mule Mocktail in a copper mug. Later in the evening, a smooth Espresso Martini brought just the right note of indulgence.

The Soft Shell Crab Gnocchi was a standout—perfectly crisp and golden, served over pillowy gnocchi with Lake Pontchartrain blue crab, brightened by pesto cream and sauce vierge.

The Chicken Paillard was equally lovely: tender, pan-sautéed chicken with crispy potatoes, Creole mustard sauce, and a peppery arugula salad that brought everything into balance.

Dessert was a perfect finale: a light, tangy Lemon Ice Box Pie with a buttery graham cracker crust and just a touch of hazelnut syrup—simple and satisfying.

We normally go on Sunday for brunch (because of babysitter availability) but we were able to go for dinner last night to celebrate our anniversary. When I tell you the flat iron steak we had was 100% PERFECT, I’m not exaggerating. Temp was perfect. Cut was perfect. Flavor was perfect. French onion soup was perfect. “I absolutely love this tiny slice of fast and delicious Greek & Lebanese food!

It's quaint, efficient, and personable. What's even better is they really care about their customers and their preferences. I always ask for feta and garlic paste on my chicken schwarma wrap, along with removing the tomatoes and onions, and they deliver every time with a smile. I come here so often they've memorized my order and are usually making it as I walk up to the counter.

The lady who makes the garlic paste has also informed me if I call ahead that I can get a pint of the garlic paste because I love it so much (and pregnancy cravings! 😂)

Happy to be a customer of such a great group of people that care about their patrons and the quality of their food. I'm sure as long as this location exists, and I live nearby, I'll be coming here for years to come. ❤️“

It was a horrible day until the nicest server/waitress I have ever had sat us down. She couldn’t have known what we were going through or how much she brightened our day. She was pregnant, I know that. Otherwise I don’t remember her name. One of those days I guess. She just had this light about her and when she smiled Everything seemed a little better. I think God put her there at that moment. Hopefully she will be there the next time we go. But if not I was posting this to tell her thankyou for being you. And good luck with your pregnancy. Just be sure your are not seated near the serving kitchen because there is a lot of foot traffic and you will see the staff eating and drinking (as they should be allowed to).
