“Very yummy and great staff. We had Shelby tonight and she was super helpful on what to choose and get to eat with being overwhelmed. She also helped with tips on what to do here while visiting.“

“Bf has been raving about this place for years about the Shrimp Ducky. My First time and Came alway from Texas. The food was amazing. I am disappointed in the person at the hostess stand. She was a little rude and not hospitable. We had a togo order due to our dog in the car. We don’t know where to go to pick up the order and it left us wandering the restaurant.“

“My second time at this place. I love the atmosphere. You are greeted when you enter the place and when you are leaving out. The waitresses and management is so nice and polite. The food is amazingly so good. It's hard to get good service but this place is so great at it. Love this place if I could give it 6 stars I would.“

“Had Smittys seafood platter minus the fish last weekend. The shrimp and oysters were battered perfectly. The oysters were delicious!! The hushpuppies were great as well as the fried mushrooms. 10/10 recommend!“

“On my way out of town last trip down to the New Orleans area I popped in to Parran's Po Boys to grab a sandwich before hitting the road. Decided to grab the J&M special for $14. This is Roast beef, ham, and swiss and I got that dressed like I always do. I know a lot of people lean hard on the seafood down south but I love a good roast beef po' boy. There were a ton of tables in this place so I would assume they get quite busy. I came on a weekday in between lunch and dinner hours so there weren't a ton of people there.
Man this was a good sandwich. Maybe the 3rd best po boy I've had behind Parkway and Mabile's. Maybe...I've had some high quality others as well but this one is memorable for me. Plenty of meat and the vegetables while dressing it up were nice and fresh. The bread was crusty on the outside and soft in the center and it held up to the mayo and gravy on the beef perfectly. I'd go back and eat this tomorrow if I could.
Next time in I'd love to say I'll try something different but this special may have a hold on me. Maybe I need to bring a friend to we can split one or something. Either way, Parran's Po Boys - Didn't Suck!“
“I stayed here for a night last week, it’s near the airport so it’s very convenient. I went down the bar to get some late night food To-Go, my bartender was super sweet and the restaurant luckily takes Apple Pay! I ordered a burger and fries and it was so good. I wish I got the bartender’s name, he’s an older Caucasian male, so nice you’ll have great service with him!“

“Due to storms over Labor Day, I found myself with a four hour layover in New Orleans — the first time I’ve ever been here. I thought I might as well really make the most of my layover and try the best this airport has to offer. On the recommendation of the cashier at Cafe Du Monde just on the other side the security line, I came to Leah’s Kitchen. This was the best decision I have made all weekend because this was the best airport food I’ve had in my life, full stop.
I am going to think about the fried catfish and grits every single day for the rest of my life. The big portion of catfish fillet was fried perfectly, which a delightfully crunchy, thick crust. Maybe a little salty for my taste but still so flaky and so good. The catfish was drizzled in a tomato based, well-spiced sauce (?) of charred corn and andouille sausage, and it was all sat on the creamiest, most delightfully salted grits. The catfish was so tasty. But I absolutely savored every bite of the sauce and the grits. I cannot believe that this was an airport meal — and a relatively cheap one at that, with the fish dish being just $19! I would line up for this for an hour and pay $40 for this.
I also had a cup of gumbo, which I found tasty but not nearly as much as the main dish.
This is my first real taste of southern food so I’m probably just appreciating this very wonderful cuisine for the first time but I genuinely loved this meal. I finished every single bite despite it being a truly large food portion because I could not bear the thought of it go to waste. I spent the 24 hours before this meal in travel hell and this genuinely made up for that. I am clearly going to have to make a dedicated trip to New Orleans just for the food.
I am told that Leah’s Kitchen is an offshoot of a famed chef in Nola, who I later read was Leah Chase! What a happy find for me.
Thank you to my nice server Bria, who was attentive and kind despite literally being the only on the floor.
I probably would only go here if I had two hours’ layover or more — you don’t want to be rushed when the food is truly restaurant quality. The servers are efficient and kind but there are only so many of them. YAY THANK YOU NOLA AIRPORT AND LEAH’S KITCHEN?“
