“Weekday lunch with husband in assuming surroundings at Lil G's, under new ownership. Plenty of parking. Not super busy on this day. Husband had hamburger steak meal, which he enjoyed. I had the chopped salad, interestingly including goat cheese and crispy okra. I probably should have asked about the okra. Danielle was kind enough to serve house made Cajun ranch on the side; was very tasty. Would have enjoyed a little more goat cheese. Crispy okra = fried okra, which blew my mind - warm fried okra on top of my fresh salad. I put all of the okra in a small bowl on the side and ate it separately. I think getting someone's attention to check out probably was the slowest part of the process. Drinks never went dry, and pricing is reasonable. Not sure we will return, though, just because there's nothing outstanding about the food; it's just good.“
“Small lunch spot with downhome food served with lots of smiles. Everything is good. Prices are very reasonable. Lots of folks order pick up maybe because space is limited to about 7 tables. Very local Belle Chasse spot. Listen up and you can hear what's going on in the community.“
“Bar R’evolution is everything I want in a New Orleans destination: Good food; superior libations; professional staff; and engaging conversation with patrons. Last night’s meal of bone marrow, butter-poached lobster and smoked duck exceeded expectations. The 20-year-old Tawny Port arrived in a huge(!) bottle - my bar mates went wild. Thanks for a great meal.“
“Keyshawn was not a friendly server. Tracy was amazing! Food was great. Highly recommend visiting this historic establishment. Please retrain Keshawn to treat ALL customers the same and try to contain her unfriendliness. Overall we did enjoy our experience! A must try!“
“I had the gumbo and po boy combo and it was the best I’ve ever had! Huge piece of fish for a half sandwich and the gumbo was so good. Everyone else had breakfast and said it was great. Our waitress, Pamela, made the meal even better! We had a large group and she was attentive, eager to help in any way, and never seemed overwhelmed with all we asked. When she found out I was dairy free, she immediately returned with oat milk for my coffee. We will definitely come back and recommend it to all who visit New Orleans.“
“Celebrated my cousin’s birthday here with dinner and drinks on the rooftop this past weekend. We had an amazing time! Our reservation was for 530 but we arrived about a half hour earlier and were allowed to wait in the seating area/lounge which was connected to the hotel’s bar (located in the Pontchatrain Hotel). I absolutely loved the decor because it was a concept that was welcoming, nostalgic, and upscale. Whoever designed the space is a genius. There are plenty of Instagram worthy areas to take pictures and the menu was outstanding. My cousins and I each ordered a different dish where we took turns sampling plates. There were 6 of us and we ordered the pork cheeks, fish in a bag (flounder), crawfish risotto, broccolini, braised pork ribs, and cauliflower soup. I also ordered the “hibis-kiss” drink and a lemon drop martini. We lounged around a bit before the waitress told us about the rooftop bar “Hot Tin Roof.” All on the same hotel with a beautiful view of the NOLA skyline. The hotel is located on the RTA line and we took streetcar 12 from Canal street to Josephine and St. Charles. This was a perfect way to see more of the city and embrace the culture.“
“Truly one of the best and most unique dining experiences I’ve ever had in my life. A wonderful tribute to Senegalese and Creole food. The staff was absolutely incredible — so friendly and knowledgeable. Explained Senegalese transitions and even started the meal with a table side hand wash. They weren’t stuffy either, which can be common at restaurants at this caliber. They really made our experience top notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. All locally sourced and in season ingredients. Will absolutely tell anyone visiting to go to Dakar.“
“Went here for jazz brunch one day! Great atmosphere, really pretty place. We sat in the courtyard area. I had the croque monsieur and my boyfriend had the boudin Benedict (forget what it’s called). Both were delish! Plus the give you bread!!! Love bread. Cocktails were good too! Staff was cool!“
“I love Lil Dizzy’s food! The gumbo is like no other. The crawfish bisque is absolutely amazing. The fried chicken is just like my grandma’s. OMG I can go on and on, the Mac and sweet potatoes, potato salad, and so much more! You have to experience this place for yourself.“
“Completely exceptional dining experience. I am so glad we found this little gem. The menu is set daily, based on what is fresh. And it is made to perfection. Our server, Rene, was extremely kind, and engaging. I truly didn’t expect such a good experience, considering the atmosphere - candidly it’s very ~meh~. But I considered that part of its charm. Also, the prices are totally fair and reasonable. Don’t sleep on this place. It’s so so so good.“
“This would be five stars if there hadn’t been a couple of slipups as the food and atmosphere were great and the servers were both friendly and knowledgeable about the food. However one side dish never appeared (but didn’t show up on the check) and we were assured that they knew how to prepare an Irish coffee but this was not the case - it wasn’t even close to the real thing. We would also have appreciated seeing a few moderately priced bottles of wine on the list, i.e. in the $35-50 range. But still a very enjoyable meal.“
“We love NOLA. Visit couple times a year but usually don't get a chance to go far from the Quarter. We had an opportunity to visit this place when a friend, who is a local, brought us, his suggestion. I'm so glad he did. Food was amazing. Great little bar with fun vibe.“
“It’s was a belated birthday dinner, and it was well worth the wait. Food was scrumptious, our waitress was full of personality. Kitchen was busy, but gave us time to breathe between courses. The white chocolate bread pudding was excellent and large enough for 3 of us to share. Thanks for such a delicious meal … until next time …“
“Possibly - and I am not exaggerating - the best meal of my life, still dreaming about it the next day.You know it’s good when their “bread starter” is perfectly baked, garlic butter smothered corn bread. Atmosphere was so cool, food was INCREDIBLE, and service was top-tier (Doug was on POINT with all of his recommendations). Started with the grilled alligator, alligator & shrimp cheesecake (a must-order) and crab stuffed shrimp to die for. Then the crawfish étouffée and eggplant pirogue for mains - cannot recommend both enough. And the sides are amazing too. We had red beans and rice, smothered cabbage, spiced corn, and the most mouthwatering smashed sweet potatoes you’ve ever had. He was also kind enough to serve a bit of spinach salad between courses so we got our greens in ? And THEN he served us an unreal combo plate with bread pudding with caramel drizzle and the most divine crème brûlée you can imagine. And can’t forget the fresh watermelon mojito and hurricane-esque cocktails.I swear I’m shocked this place isn’t on every NOLA food list. also 100000% worth the Uber from French Quarter! 10-10 would fly back down from NYC just for this place ??“
“We had an amazing experience ! We got into NOLA later than expected and we’re starving. We had walked around and a lot of places were closing. Liz was outside treated us in the most friendly manner and we got a table right away. My 5 year old was already freaked out by bourbon street and was being stubborn. They made a grilled cheese especially for her and got her feeling better. The food was amazing and the service and hospitality were impeccable! I highly recommend pasta, gumbo, or the sandwiches. It is a bit pricey but your taste buds will thank you and Liz will tell you anything you need to know about visiting the city, and make you feel like family. Oh and did I mention homemade biscuits and to die for French bread?“
“This was a very unique restaurant. The menu is small but I imagine everything is delicious. We ordered the mystery board which was a unique meat charcuterie board containing liver mousse, chicken hearts, boudin ball, head cheese, and more. The entrees were huge, definitely large enough to share. We ordered the lamb, venison, chicken, and pork chop. All were delicious! The server made great recommendations.“
“Fantastic evening at an institution. Food was top tier from the French 75s through to the baked Alaska dessert. Crab cake / Shrimp Arnaud starters were solid whilst the mains (veal medallions in a mushrooom sauce / quail in a strawberry gaatrique) were exceptional. Service was top tier with a special shoutout to Travis who made our evening.“
“If you’re in New Orleans and craving a classic Southern brunch, you can’t go wrong with the smothered shrimp and grits at Porche Cafe. Their dish is a delightful symphony of flavors, featuring succulent Gulf shrimp atop creamy, stone-ground grits. It’s a dish that truly embodies the spirit of New Orleans cuisine—comforting, rich, and utterly delicious. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Porche Cafe's shrimp and grits are a must-try for an authentic taste of the city's culinary heritage. .“
“If you have gone to New Orleans and haven't gone to Commanders Palace, you are missing a piece of history and a great experience. Started with walking through the kitchen to get to our table. I hope you realize how confident an establishment has to be for you to see their kitchen. The wonder started there and kept going. The jazz brunch was awesome doesn't matter what you order the food was spectacular, the service staff is second to no one, and the way to finish it was a bread pudding souffle. Thank you for the experience, and the history of my first time being there under your first female executive chef. She is an artist“
“New Orleans is known for its fantastic food scene, but let me tell you, I stumbled upon a restaurant that truly blew my mind. The dish that stole my heart was the cajun penne pasta - packed with juicy chicken and spicy sausage, smothered in a mouthwatering cajun sauce that left me wanting more even days later. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on this culinary experience!“
“We loved this place so much while vacationing in New Orleans that we went 2 nights in a row! The Blue Bacon Fries are seriously addicting! The blackened shrimp Alfredo was so good I ate every bite and it was a large portion. It's a must!“
“All of my senses were OVERWHELMED with pleasure at Criollo's Jazz Brunch! The service and food was superb Michelin level quality. The live jazz band kept me entertained as I was coursed out. The chef elevated the fried green tomatoes and chicken biscuit to an award winning level. The chicken biscuit was smothered in jalapeño's, scallions and the best rue I have ever tasted so I sent my compliments to the chef. Every delectable bite forced my eyes shut so I could deeply enjoy the freshness, flavor and texture. While I was enjoying coffee the chef sent complimentary Rosemary & Lemon Custard Madeline's. It was an innovative way to approach this classic pastry. My only critique is the custard on top was so good I wanted more. Very light, fresh, and balanced melody of flavors. The consistency was reminiscent of a fusion between a scone and puff pastry. You can tell the French invited fries by how well the fries here complimented every dish. It was such a phenomenal experience, I found myself making reservations for the next day halfway through brunch and I am happy to say the food, service and entertainment are consistently great here. The fancy French atmosphere at Hotel Monteleone was fit for a Queen and the bathroom attendant cleaned the stall prior to each guests use. This is a must try spot in The French Quarter.“
“This is a hidden gem. I love the oysters, St. John and the shrimp remoulade appetizers. The appetizers are always on point. I have not tried every entrée, but the ones I have had don’t compare to the appetizers. The shrimp and grits is pretty good.“
“While in NOLA we always stop here and are always happy with the food, service and atmosphere in general. It’s enough away from the Bourbon atmosphere but close enough at the same, if you have a preference. It was clean, fast and friendly. All good!“
“I contracted with Ralph's for a rehersal dinner for 50 people. Julie was my contact and she is amazing. I am a planner by nature but she was totally awesome. She walked us through the menu and space and the night was magical. She is attentive to detail, organized, pleasant to work with, and thought of things I needed based on the guest list. An example, I had one child's dinner and she called to see if that child required a high chair. It was those little things that she caught that made the event a night to remember. The staff on duty that night were also A+. They were exrremely attentive to all our guests needs. We had guests from 7 different states from CA to AK and they were blown away by the balcony bar, the views, and the entire event. It made me so proud to put our southern hospitality on display. I highly recommend Julie and Ralphs for your party needs.“
“Juan's Flying Burrito exceeded my expectations, even with a DoorDash order. The queso was absolutely phenomenal, earning its spot as a must-try item. Additionally, the Build Your Own bowl was both delicious and incredibly filling—I couldn't even finish it! I highly recommend Juan's Flying Burrito for anyone craving tasty and satisfying Mexican food.“
“I’ve never reviewed my greatest restaurant ever but I will start now. In October my wife and I went to Emeril in New Orleans. Not an easy reservation but worth the time, effort and long trip from our home in Hawaii. Our experience was great. . We knew that there were plans to shut down Emeril for a total redesign from top to bottom. We waited for the exact date to try to get a reservation and luckily secured one. We had absolutely no idea what to expect. The experience we had proved that the “new Emeril “ is the best restaurant we’ve ever been to. I will not describe each dish since it would take up too many words but know that each dish was outstanding. Now I will explain why Emeril is #1 in the eyes of both my wife and myself. Online you will see that there are two Tasting Menus, no a La carte so we were at least prepared for what we were going to eat. We were not prepared for the following total mind bending and culinary experience. When entering Emeril you are greeted with a true Aloha greeting. We sat at the gorgeous bar since we were early and had a Vieux Care our new go to cocktail. The mixologist continued with the Aloha Spirit and made an exceptional Vieux. The bar area was awesome. In a very short time we were greeted by a hostess who escorted us to the brand new dining room. It totally blew our minds. Twenty or less tables with a huge space between them. You almost feel that you are the only guests there. The table we sat at had a large banquette that just added a new dimension to comfort. Large gorgeous pillows supported our backs. Almost directly in front of us was a huge glass enclosed kitchen. This was pure culinary theatre. Almost immediately a chef came to our table and asked us if we would like to see the inside of the kitchen. We didn’t bat an eye and followed him into the most gorgeous well thought out kitchen we’ve ever seen. The chef gave us a brief description of the kitchen, introduced us to the staff and the entire team offered up a special hello. We both felt like the greatest VIP’s. He then showed us to a small table next to us that had two champagne flutes with what he said was a rhubarb juice. Also on a plate was a cube of some unbelievable jellied concoction to showcase the ingredients. Back to our table and the party began. The two tasting menus were explained, one Classic and the other Seasonal. Then the Amuse Bouches started arriving. We expected only one or two. Nope, two sets, one group of cold, the the other warm. Each one was as great as the seven small main dishes. The beauty of the entire experience was that we both left feeling sated, never full. The service was impeccable. Never hovering but always there and totally knowledgeable about every dish and that includes ingredients. The sommelier was the antithesis of what many sommelier’s are. Being Wine Educators and Consultants we really appreciated his knowledge and communication skills as well as his passion towards wine. We had a dedicated service team who I would love to take with us to other great but not perfect restaurants. Jason Burse, the Assistant General Manager made the whole experience into a perfect culinary tour de force. This is why we both feel that Emeril is the Best Restaurant we’ve ever eaten at. Although expensive, it did not break the bank. Can’t wait to return next October.“
“We came at 4, which is when they open. Perfect, no one was hardly there. Then, out of nowhere. A family of 10 with 8 kids all under the age of 11 was so loud and had no home training the adults didn't seem to mind either. Not to mention, the kids were all girls. Business is Business. I would say wayy too kid friendly of a “
“Hands down the best Po Boy of all of NOLA! Guy's is always on the itinerary when we are in town. Their Po Boys are always over stuffed, perfectly seasoned and fresh. Bread is crispy yet soft. Lines can be very long and seated is limited, recommend going right when they open or outside of peak lunch hours.“
“The host/manager was a bit off and made us stand in the doorway for several minutes before seating us in a near empty restaurant but once we were seated our server was great and the food was exceptional. Amazing gumbo and the crawfish mac and cheese was a winner. Solid drinks too. Check this place out.“
“It was delightful to sit out on the patio and listen to the live jazz band.At first, our server wouldn’t seat us outside as a party of 6 and we almost had to leave but after some convincing, he sat us out there. The food was decent for the price. I’d come here again for the ambience“
“Great food! My wife and I recently visited New Orleans and rode the trolley cars around. When we got hungry we got off and walked here. It has a cool local feel and is much quieter than downtown NOLA. The shrimp remoulade was an awesome appetizer! We also enjoyed the Creole shrimp and the fried softshell crab. Prices were pretty reasonable as well. We had a great time! Definitely recommend!“
“Lot's of decisions and they are all pretty good! You walk in place your order boil bags from shrimp to pig feet boil. (And everything else) And the other line they have is for fried platters. Both lines stay fairly busy. Which means...., The food must be pretty good or people wouldn't wait in line for that long to get an order. And it is that good. I got the softshell crab platter with fried rice, which was rather delicious. It was more than I could eat. and my husband had the shrimp po' boy sandwich He thought was pretty good. If you looking for cheaper and taste as good as the French Quarter then you should check it out.The ambience is so so it's really nothing to brag about because you just go pick up your food. Sit and eat it if you like and if you don't you keep it moving.“
“I'm here from out of town for a conference amd needed a Lil hair of the dog this morning so I asked the Vallet at the Marriott who is close by that has great Bloody Marys...they said Daisy Dukes. So here I am waiting on my coworker and they've got buy 1 get 1 free bloody Mary's and they are fantastic. My waiters name is Philip and he's so kind and a wonderful waiter!!!“
“A bit of mixed feelings about it. Let’s start from the end. The bread pudding tasted good but not like a bread pudding. It tasted more like a ‘cake pudding’. The scallops, all 4 of them were very salty, thanks god that all else was potatoes to clean the palate :). We expected more considering the prices and ambience.“
“I was by myself, on a Saturday evening, and walked in without a reservation. They were able to sit me almost immediately, and super close to the live jazz band.Oh it was awesome!! I didn't want to ever leave!I had the gumbo and the fried oysters. They were absolutely delicious!! The service was spectacular. I felt taken care of and had such a great time. I atmosphere was perfect! You've got to try this place!!“
“The food was good and nicely presented. It is cute and quaint. Orders are olaced at the counter, you seat yourself and they find you. I did find it odd I had to ask for syrup. Once I did, a condiment organizer was brought to my table complete with salt and pepper. The dogs with the man sitting at the next table were brought water and then some treats, without saying a word. The patrins were pleasant and conversational, the staff at the cafe were "matter of fact".“
“What a cute spot for brunch! The food and drinks were solid but the decor and atmosphere were all we could talk about afterwards. A fun spot for a girls day, bachelorette, bridal shower, etc. The crab beignet appetizer was DELICIOUS and I enjoyed the mushroom frites. Everyone ended up trying one person's truffle mac and cheese and that was a fan favorite too.“
“An exceptional bar in a city full of bars. The Paris Safari decor theme makes for a cozy vibe. The varied cocktail list has many New Orleans classics that are made expertly. We loved the Brandy Crusta, Arnaud’s Special and the Bobby Oakes. We also enjoyed the tasty gougeres and the deviled eggs from the bar bites menu. Service was excellent.“
“A wonderful experience in the place of experience’s. If your coming to Bourbon Street, make this a must do on your list. My Sazerac was spot on, and the food was authentic and very flavorful. Full on the food or not, you will be amiss if you don’t try the bread pudding. I also Don’t want to forget to mention the great service and the very friendly staff as well, they really made our first time visit to New Orleans a great one. Just wow!!“
“Saw the excellent reviews so we gave it a try. What a great decision. Ordered for 5 people(2 kids) and everyone was beyond satisfied. Service was top notch as well. I would dare say this is a little hidden gem. Im sorry it took so long to try this place. It won’t take long for me to return.“
“Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. Our waitress barely stopped by to check on us. The food was fantastic. The charbroiled oysters were plump and meaty. The gumbo and coleslaw were both very flavorful. And the fried fish dinner was also fantastic. Is the service was anywhere near the quality of the food I would recommend 100%.“
“Turtle Soup is ExcellentSwordfish also ExcellentFantastic for Friday Night during LentNegroni cocktail set the tone of an evening with close friends. The manager came by for a personal visit to check on our party.Truly an Uptown classic.Hopefully, the property next door will end up as an Event Space.Clancy's makes ya fall in love all over again with Uptown/University living!Best Regards, Lance Wm von Uhde IIIPs - Looking forward to next visit. “My friend and I experienced the Chloe for lunch last week 10/12/23 and it was absolutely the best lunch from start to end I have ever had. The goat cheese, pepper and garlic starter is so full of flavor I can’t even describe how happy it made my taste buds. Every bite of food I had was simply perfection. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful in their recommendations. I honestly am planning another weekend trip simply to dine here again. This is a MUST eat while in town. Thank you all for this memorable experience.“
“I had a good little time here ?? the staff is so funny. Such a good time. We went for oyster happy hour and it did not disappoint. I think i had at least 2 dozen on my own and a hurricane or two. My friend had the gator bite and let me tell you it was BITING. Whewww I don’t think any of them finished it. Radioactive ☢️ the shrimp were pretty good too. I’d go back for sure.“
“Sometimes you wonder about these viral places, and I can confirm they’ve earned every bit of those glowing reviews. The fried pickles appetizer, so were the PoBoys. Can’t remember the last time I’ve had shrimp that good. And the fried pickles were bursting with flavor. Service is awesome, people are friendly.“
“Stopped here to check out the food with our city pass and this food did make it worth it. One thing we didn't read in the details is that this is a 21+ place, so my spouse and I had to swap around to get our order. My spouse had the alligator sandwhich, which he said was amazing, I got the oysters, which were amazing! Check this place out!“
“Our server, Michael was delightful. He was very welcoming, knowledgeable and patient with accommodating our dietary restrictions. We were his last table of the night, but he maintained exceptional service. The scallops were to die for and a dish you must try!!! Thanks for an amazing experience !!!“
“Have been wanting to try this place for a long time especially considering their mission. Their hours of operation are a little difficult for the 9-5 time, but finally made it out. Everything was fresh to order. Staff were friendly. They have indoor seating, parking is street parking. The building vibe is loft style, with high ceilings which made the place feel spacious. It was a busy time however we were seated quickly. I think they put a lot of detail into the place. Really enjoyed the fried turkey necks and the sweet potato fries. Would go back for those.“
“Went there today 3/30/24, Nicole B #3012 was our waitress..... Nicole was very customer oriented, polite and accommodating. Nicole B is a top notch waitress and a great ? asset ? to Zydeco's restaurant.Ashley was super nice and friendly. Had all you can eat crawfish for $39.99 each. Crawfish was seasoned but not too spicy ? but not bland either. I ate 3 trays and the crawfish were hot each time.“
