She was very professional, intelligent, and focused. She was patient and pleasant to converse with. We were impressed with her knowledge of the restaurant and the menu. The lady who helped me at the counter when I didn’t know anything gave me soup samples, and tea concoctions to see which ones I would enjoy the most and really was super friendly and took her time to explain everything. It was so hard to choose what soup to have since they were so good so I ordered one there and took some to go. What a wonderful experience and a delightful work staff.”

My husband got the roast beef poboy and I got the goolosh off the breakfast menu, with a small taste of the red beans which was the special. Food was great, but even better was the service. Small relaxed interior and was greeted by 3 employees when we arrived. Server was friendly and owner came by to chat and give recommendations. If I lived close, I imagine I’d be a regular and they would end up my friends :).”

“Lago’s food is always fresh and authentic. Try the street steak quesadillas, they are addictive! The molcajete is a must to experience. It arrived in a huge cauldron of roasted meats and veggies with cactus! Absolutely delicious. The service is always great!”

“We have been about 6 times with friends and everyone loved everything we tried. The food is fresh with multiple layers of flavor. The negative ratings are about service or wait times. (Which we have not had a problem with) But the food is what matters! I recommend the poblano rice and plantains as sides. Nachos as an appetizer or entree because it is not a hunk of cheese melted on old repeatedly fried chips we find everywhere else. The guacamole is the best I have ever had. But, as a dessert gal, I have tried them all and there is not one I would not get againm(hint: the chocolate cake with flan on top is my favorite)”
