“Nestled in the heart of Mandeville, Nan's Cafe offers a culinary journey that transports you straight to a Sicilian kitchen. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Spaghetti and Meatballs - a dish so authentically delightful, it's as if Nonna herself was in the kitchen. Each meatball is a tender, flavorful morsel, perfectly seasoned and cooked to juicy perfection. The spaghetti, coated in a rich, savory tomato sauce, provides the ideal backdrop for these succulent spheres of delight. But the journey doesn't end there. The side dish of Sweet Potato Fries is a revelation in itself. These crispy, golden strips of sweet potato are the perfect balance of sweet and savory, with a light seasoning that accentuates their natural flavor. Nan's Cafe, with its warm ambiance and friendly service, makes every meal feel like a special occasion. Whether you're a local or just passing through, a visit to Nan's is a must for anyone seeking a taste of true Sicilian fare with a twist of Cajun. The Spaghetti and Meatballs, paired with the Sweet Potato Fries, is a combination that will leave your palate euphoric. It's not just food; it's a tasty experience - one that you'll want to relive again and again.“

Dr Gumbo's New Orleans Cuisine Seafood • $

“I recently tried the shrimp and okra gumbo and the shrimp and corn soup from Dr. Gumbo and I loved it. The flavors were absolutely delicious, and I was pleasantly surprised how tasty and satisfying it was. The convenience of having these frozen packets on hand is a real convenience for busy days. I will surely try their other offerings like the red beans. Highly recommended.“

Big Wil & the Warden LLC Food Trucks •
1060 Elmer St, Mandeville

“Wil & Evelyn (the Warden) Vielman serve the best fair food I have ever tasted; in fact, it is restaurant-quality food. In addition to traditional cajun favorites like gumbo, they offer alligator sausage on a stick and 2 delicious shrimp dishes--cajun shrimp boat and (my favorite) bacon-wrapped shrimp. Each dish is made fresh when ordered and from high-quality ingredients. Six huge shrimp are served with a choice of dipping sauce, from mildly tangy to cajun spicy, and accompanied by a generous portion of freshly made french fries. The shrimp boat contains 12 big, peeled (no tails to deal with), deep-fried shrimp on a bed of golden French fries, ketchup, & a tangy creole sauce. They serve an outstanding lemonade made with lemon, lime, orange slices and blueberries and cherries. Each meal is very filling, and very affordably priced--especially when compared with other fair food. The couple travel to fairs and festivals all over the country to serve their superb dishes to the crowds. Evelyn also informed me she makes a dish composed of layers of sliced eggplant, cheese, and spaghetti sauce that has customers lined up for quite a distance. Service is well organized, prompt, & cheerful. Evelyn and Wil assured me they will back next year for the annual Troy (PA) [which serves as the Bradford County Fair].. I plan to among the first in line for their scrumptious meals. Ralph Morgan...“

“Food was really good and the beer from Faubourg where it's located is delicious. Staff are overall super friendly and pleasant. Our order was incomplete and had to return to counter for missing drink. Different staff member at the counter seemed quite annoyed that I came back to get the drink.“

“Update: Just went today to get crawfish, gumbo and boudin balls. The crawfish were so good and well seasoned!!! I hesitate to go today because for the past 3 years, they have not been spicy at all. So I couldn't have been happier today with how spicy they were. They are always clean crawfish, decent sized and today, they were some of the best I've ever eaten! The boudin balls were very delicious. They were kind of like chicken fried, which made them so good. I picked up a quart of gumbo in the market as well... I was super pleased with everything todayGood reliable food!“

“I don't normally recommend a place unless I really like it. I live in California, but visit family in this area as much as I can. I love authentic Louisiana flavor, and I make it a point to stop here on my trips.I find the staff is helpful and friendly in making recommendations and being patient. I must say I typically buy the same stuff every time I'm here; spicy jack boudin balls, smoked boudin sausage, and pork cracklins (they have chicken cracklins too). The flavors score a 10 out of 10.I froze the boudin sausage for my flight home, and it warmed up in an air fryer just fine.Definitely recommend as a legit Cajun meat vendor and also to stop by for a hearty meal. It's so sad I live so far away.“

“Honestly, despite the awful posts that are out there, we had a WONDERFUL experience at Copelands of Covington last night! It was a Friday night, and we sat on the patio to listen to the live music while we dined. It was a beautiful atmosphere and our food and waitress, Megan was phenomenal! Seriously!! Service (at least by Megan) was timely, accommodating, and delightful. Food was served hot, well timed, and tasted really good! Literally ZERO complaints! Def a must try, especially on the patio if there's also live music. (Ok, only "complaint" was that they don't take same-day reservations, which makes absolutely no sense, so make reservations at least a day before if you must)“
