“I've been to loft 18 multiple times before, but when I started coming to Trivia Wednesdays I found a reason to return every Wednesday. I had the most wonderful waitress I've ever had wait on me at any bar or restaurant in my entire life. Her name is Angelle and she deserves a raise. She remembers my drink orders and gives the most amazing entree recommendations. Anytime my drink gets close to being empty there she is asking if I'd like another. When i finish my food she is right there ready to clear my table to make room for trivia sheets. Angelle is perfection in waitress form!!! “This was one of my favorite locations to get daiquiris in NOLA. Not because the drinks were good (sweet is an understatement), but because the actual spot was something out of a movie. It wasn't in the most obvious location (literally in a back road) and was totally ratchet in more ways than one. There was truly never a dull moment at Daiquiri Chef. Service was hot and cold. Some days the folks behind the counter were friendly and welcoming, other days it was a different set of folks who seemed confused that I would be here. The latter wasn't as warm, and samples weren't offered but I would end up getting something anyway. The interior of the place was bare bones: a slot machine randomly in the corner, a bit of a drab ambiance that felt like someone's house, and a number of daiquiri machines spinning in the background. Speaking of the daiquiris, they were potent and sweeter than they were boozy. I wasn't sold on them initially, but the price made it easy to consider this location over the pricier ones in the French Quarter. When in doubt, the purple rain was the one to get. They've since closed. While I'm sad to know I won't be able to enjoy the scene anymore, I know there's a hidden gem of a daiquiri spot lurking somewhere in the Big Easy.“

“Quickly became my go-to place for daiquiris! Great flavor variety…always tasty and perfectly strong without too harsh an alcohol flavor. The price is right, and I love the daily specials they offer. The gals bartending are always friendly and fast in the drive-thru, although I’ve personally never been inside. I will say, the drive-thru can be a bit stressful during busier times since there is not much room for a line so it can spill out onto the street. I take every out-of-town visitor here, and it’s definitely a top request when they visit again. I am moving out of River Ridge soon, but I will be making the quick drive from Metairie whenever I have a daiquiri hankering!“

“Me and my wife went here for vday. She had the lobster and I had a catfish platter. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. Very laid back. The drinks had way to much ice in them and nowhere close to enough tequila. Also the bathroom is in the back of the building. Doesn't seem safe for a lady to be walking back there at night to use the restroom. But I would definitely recommend going. Lots of tvs for sports as well.“
