“Classic home cooking in the parish...but this place is hard to beat!! I ordered the Friday special--shrimp pasta with 2 big catfish filets, corn and garlic bread. That meal was fire!!! And plenty enough to share! The wife had a cup of gumbo(it was more like a bowl!) that was FULL of chicken and sausage!! The employees were super friendly and the prices were very fair. Don't sleep on this place.“

“I was there on Sunday 10-12 from out of town. The food, ambience and people were fantastic. Everything was hot and flavorful as I went as soon as they opened. The singer had a great voice as he was moving around singing to various tables. I had a great time. I did favor the sweet potato casserole as it was “fire”. “Oysters and pita/crab dip were delicious! Service was a little rough. My husband got his oysters before I got my meal- he had that and his drink finished before I received my food. We tried to be patient because they were somewhat busy, but watched our server take off her apron and leave before ever coming back to our table after drop off. We had 2 other waiters and what looked like management walk by several times, and even though I tried to get their attention, never looked our way or stopped. Finally made eye contact with a gal working closer to the front who came over and was very sweet, apologizing as our waitress had just quit. She brought out my food that'd been sitting there for quite a while, so the muffalettas weren't great, coleslaw warm. She never came back or reassigned someone to us, no one checked on us for drink refills, etc. Had to flag her down to place another food and drink order, again because no one else was helping us. After that, zero service, no one stopped at our table to check on us, and nothing 'taken care of' for the mishap. We came at a time where we were able to see the end of one band and start of a new- both fantastic, so that was good. Would recommend based on food and music, maybe not so much service.“

“I booked a private party for 25 people for my dad’s 90th birthday. Ms Carol Gales was so easy to deal with and very helpful. On the night of the event everything was as promised. The food was great and the service team was spot on. The whole event went beautifully. I cannot thank you enough. Highly recommend. Also pricing was super reasonable!“

“The potato I had from here made me sleepy it was so good and full. Prices are a tad bit high. I had a roast beef on bun with the potato. Overall the potato needed a little more seasoning as well as the roast beef. It was packaged nice and full but when you eating roast beef you want the seasoning to chase it. To say I had a seafood potato it shouldn't have been bland. I would dine again for a different experience.“

“One of the best meals I've had in New Orleans (and I live here). Two of us had a couple of cocktails, as well as two appetizers and two mains. The service was terrific. The bread appetizer and the strawberry & beet salad appetizer as well as the duck confit main course were all excellent. The gumbo main course was salty -- even for gumbo -- and the sausage seemed overcooked and rather dry. The cocktails were made very well as well. The prices were actually pretty reasonable for the ambiance and the quality.“

“Sooo good! We went on a Saturday and I had the pot roast with rice, green beans, and Mac and cheese. As a Mac and cheese lover I wouldn’t really recommend it here but the pot roast was so tender and the sauce it was in was delicious! My man had the red beans and rice with the fried chicken and that was also amazing! The fried chicken was actually wings and they were so crispy and delicious!! Overall must try!!!!!“

“I'm a local and I like this bar. To clarify, I like this bar for a Frenchman St. bar. It is overpriced and fairly touristy, but they have great music every night that they are open (check their website for days, which may change with the season. The sound is good here, great place to watch a show. I've had friends order the happy hour raw oysters (in season, was $1 each) and rave about how clean and fresh they were. Overpriced, but most bars on Frenchman are comparable. Just the price you pay for multiple great live venues in a short span. They rarely charge a cover, which helps. Please tip the band and staff.“
