“My brothers and I recently had the stuffed seafood daily special. The food and experience were much more than we expected. I had phone-ordered three lunches to-go but, changed our minds after walking into the restaurant. We decided to stay and eat in the great atmosphere. We're looking forward to our next trip there for more food and atmosphere.“

“If you are looking to crawfish this is THE place! They serve 4 lb piles of these tasty crustaceans covered with an amazing seasoning. This style is added after the boil, unlike New Orleans where the spices are put into the boil. Roll up your sleeves and dig in. The teen girls at the counter were super sweet and helpful. It's just terrific!“

“Food I have picked up to go has been great. The chicken cracklins were warm with a light crisp, the boudin was meaty with good flavor, the fried ribs are always our favorite to chew on, the meat pie (meat) is really good and the crawfish pie is my hubby's favorite. Outside, the fuel pumps are roomy and easy to operate. The diesel pumps on the side are very convenient for my hubby's dually. The staff has been really nice and Mr. Hebert is always accommodating if something is needed. Overall, we give it a great review and we're excited they have come to Jennings to open their business“

“Ok I need to wright a review with 200 words so I chose this place thing is tho I’ve never been here don’t even live here but the places name is cool “swankys Downtown” W name very cool I don’t even know what the got here but it’s probably good. Anyway ima tell a story about my pain when trying to play ping pong, ok so me and my dad where at the worlds second largest Marriott very cool place 10/10 but I wanted to play sum ping pong so I went down to the pool but there where people playing so me and my dad went up to our room. The next day we went to go get breakfast and when we came back, the same two people where playing ping pong now thing is they aren’t GOOD they aways miss the ball like how can that be fun. The NEXT DAY THEY WHERE STILL PLAYING PING PONG I hope this was long enough.“

Wasn't packed but kept a steady stream of customers while we ate. The waitress was friendly and hospitable. It's exactly what one would expect from a hole-in-the-wall kinda place. “Ordered the seafood platter and a cup of gumbo. The seafood platter and etoufe was very good! The gumbo had good flavor but for $10 it had roux which was delicious and 5 tiny shrimps plus the bowl of rice, I like pepper , onion and celery this had absolutely no veggies! Please add a little more meat! And some veggies!! They are cheap and make a world of difference ,We will be back just make it better.“

“What a great place. My wife and I were visiting family in sunset who had just moved there and we were looking for a place to eat. Everything was fantastic and the entertainment was awesome. The chicken and shrimp were some of the best I have ever had. Looking forward to our next visit. 10 stars“

“During a recent visit to The Lunch Box, a quaint diner known for its Louisiana dinner with creole dishes, my husband and I had an enjoyable experience overall. The Lunch Box has a unique and nostalgic ambiance, adorned with various lunchboxes that instantly took me back to my childhood. It seems to be a popular spot, especially among locals and older patrons looking for a quick and affordable lunch.

I opted for the shrimp po' boy, which was decent and flavorful. I'd rate it a 3.75 out of 5. My husband tried the fried pork chop special. Although it had good flavor, the pork was a bit dry, so we would rate it a 3.25 out of 5.

The standout feature of our visit was undoubtedly the friendly and welcoming staff. They were attentive and added a pleasant touch to our dining experience. While the food had its ups and downs, the overall atmosphere and service made it a worthwhile visit.

If you're in the mood for some creole dishes and a trip down memory lane with its unique decor, The Lunch Box is worth checking out.“

“Can't argue that whatever you choose will be good. Always enjoyable service and people. I know it's been around for a long time but doesn't have to look like it. If I'm around I definitely will be stopping by but not really going to go out of the way.“

“The brunch was “the bomb”! Celee our waitress was quite pleasant and very helpful with choices of mimosas. Love love love the blood orange mimosa!!! “First time visiting today, 7/10/23 and so glad we did! I had the Tony Chachere on Focaccia an d my sister hand the Marilyn Monroe. We both loved them! I’ve never had Focaccia bread so soft and delicious before. It was very hard to choose from all the wonderful sandwiches and I’d definitely go back again next time I come back home to Louisiana for visit.“

“During our dinner today we had a medical emergency and the staff acted very quickly. This was a scary moment for us as my aunt needed immediate medical care and the staff did not hesitate to help. They went above and beyond by packing up our food while we worked with EMS and continuously checked in making sure we were okay.
This could have come off as an inconvenience or a problem but instead the staff stood up and helped out.
Our family will forever be thankful for the kindness and compassion offered by the staff.
