“Second time ordering from here and ive been happy both times.I’m from jersey/new york area so I consider myself spoiled when it comes to chinese food. In my opinion, this is the best chinese restaurant around the providence area. In the past, I would wait for a Boston trip to visit chinatown and satisfy the craving. I’ve only tried three items, but they were all comforting and flavorful. I got the spicy chicken wings, the beef and string beans, and the pork dumplings. I don’t get to buy food out too often anymore because budget has been tight, but I’m willing/happy to spend here bc it feels worth it :) i was having a bad day today and takeout from here genuinely made me feel lots better. “I love the food here. Especially the Salt and Pepper Shrimp and the Bourbon Chicken . The flavor of the sauce on the chicken is amazing and the shrimp was very crispy and well seasoned. “House Lo Mein was excellent. The egg roll was perfect. It was crispy without being greasy. All the ingredients in both were fresh. Lo mein had plenty of meat in it. Service was very prompt. They are CASH ONLY but there is an ATM next door at the gas station. The atmosphere is a perfect walk in five Chinese food place. “I haven’t ordered many items from here yet. But it’s exactly what I want in a Chinese restaurant. They’re really quick and you get so much bang for your buck. I think a large order of crab Rangoon is like $8 or $9 and you get like 14 of them which is WAY better than any other place in the area.“

“Well it certainly is the Best Taste I've found so far. Two words: crab rangoons. These are a must order if you like them. They make their own with wonton wrappers just folded over after filling with the most delicious filling. Don't bother ordering 5 like I did. Order the 10.

I also ordered the beef with broccoli lunch special which I was very satisfied with. The pork fried was definitely the best so far. The shortest grain rice I have ever encountered, just the right shade to the rice, and just the right amount of pork bits and onion. The beef was generous for a lunch serving. It's definitely real beef, velveted to tenderness. It was broccoli with some carrots for color. Broccoli was insanely fresh. Too raw for me, I simply microwaved the broccoli to tenderness. If not taking home, I'm sure you can request it cooked to tender in store.

All in all this restaurant is great quality, great value.“

After moving out of town we tried to find a new place but realized that the team at the mandarin cannot be duplicated !!!!! We find ourselves still making the drive !
