“Tried out the restaurant for the first time today with a friend for brunch. Had a reservation for 11:15am and we were seated almost immediately upon checking in with the host. We sat at a two-top against the wall, which was quite.. cozy to the table next to us. There was a bit of a wait before a server came over but once they approached us, they were friendly and attentive. It was very busy so we expected a bit of a wait for food/drinks. After a few minutes or so, the server was on the way over to bring our drinks and although I’m unsure of exactly the cause of what happened, I do know that one or two drinks spilled onto my from over my left shoulder onto my shirt and pants. The server was very apologetic and brought over some club soda and extra napkins. Another restaurant worker came immediately to sweep up the broken glasses. Our server did bring me out a new drink as soon as he could. The food came out quickly after. I had the crispy chicken Benedict and my friend had the classic. We agreed that the food was wonderful and well worth the price. Mistakes do happen so taking that into account, as well as the response by the server, I would give our experience a 7 or 8. Hoping to try again, minus leaving smelling like a mimosa 😂“

“Been dining at Luciano’s in Wrentham for years However on mothersday I was shocked to get a bill of $300 plus dollars for 2 adults and two children. Ordered the veal special and got the special price $89.00 Swordfish on a bed of spinach for $52 another special price Front desk was very rude which was never like that. They have become over priced and not customer friendly. We will not return“

“Thanks for making my vigil a totally disaster! I spent $177.00 on take out consisting of eel,smelts,stuffed squid and cold calamari salad. The smelts were “burned”, the stuffed squid was tough and once again way overly seasoned and again not eatable. The eel had no taste. I have been a customer there on many occasions (special ones too. ) , however you not only lost a client but I will make sure my other professionals, many were here, not ever rely on a good meal at the Old Canteen. “I have been going to this location since it opened. We have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The only thing to complain is the lack of proper ice cubes for mixed drinks. They use a soda ice dispensary of some form and when you order a drink “on the rocks”; you get a glass full of small ice. Destroys the drink altogether. I know it’s picky but if you are going to carry top shelf alcohol, you should be expected to present it appropriately.“

“I’ve been here a few times for lunch, and it never disappoints. Most of the time I order the chicken parm sandwich and fries. It’s always been good, every time I’ve ordered it.
They have a pretty extensive menu of Italian-American style food. A lot of pasta, sandwiches, pizza, etc. I’d never tried the pasta, but we’ve ordered pizza before, and it’s pretty good.
Whatever I’ve ever ordered from here, no matter what, it always comes out piping-hot, which is great.
The chicken parm sandwich was no exception, the super crispy chicken cutlet was crispy on the outside, and tender and flavorful inside. It held up very well to the lava hot marinara sauce it was covered with, and the mozzarella cheese-pull was the best. This place is definitely in my rotation of chicken parm sandwich spots.
The inside of the restaurant has weird decor. I guess it’s supposed to look like somebody’s grandmothers living room. I guess it does sort of. There’s a bunch of random old photos and items on the wall that makes it look dated.
The food is usually really good though, and I will definitely be back for more chicken parms.“

“Where do I evening begin? I was in town from Boston for a week and this was recommended by a friend so I went on my first night in town. Sat at the bar since I was alone and it was very busy, but immediately the two up stairs bartenders made me feel at home and they had a really fun dynamic between each other and their families had also worked at this amazing establishment
in the past so they really care about the place and you can tell.

After a lot of deliberation, I decided on the pappardelle with Venetian sauce and chicken meatballs. I asked them what Venetian sauce was and they took out a cookbook, written by the owners (RISD grads, so cool), and showed me the actual recipe. Genuinely one of the best dining experiences in a minute and that Venetian sauce was SO GOOD as were the moist and flavorful chicken meatballs.

I had their ultra local dessert special, the Concord grape granita made with grapes from their patio and it was superb.

PS: they sell Diet Coke in glass bottles which IYKYK is the best Diet Coke known to man and was a great sign from the start it was going to be a stellar dining journey. Can’t wait to come back.“

“My husband and I went for the first time on Saturday and sat at the bar. We ordered apps and cocktails and of course oysters. Best oysters in RI by far believe it or not. Drinks were ok but food fabulous! Would have given 5 stars if not for the bartender. She focused solely on my husband the entire time even gave him a free drink. It was very obvious and blatant disrespect to me. My husband even commented on feeling uncomfortable. As a former bartender the general rule is to pay more attention to the wife than the husband out of respect but also because most often the wife is writing the tip. We will for sure be going back but will sit at a table and maybe only order sparkling water.“

“This was an excellent amazing incredible dining experience!! We walked in late afternoon on a chilly Saturday afternoon. We were asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. The restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. We were seated at the bar which we actually really enjoyed. The menu had many tempting choices. We decided on a glass of wine for him and a Pumkin head for me. As an appetizer we chose the meatball appetizer and the warmed spinach salad! Both really very tasty! We chose a traditional margarita Neapolitan pizza - absolutely delicious!! But what really really stood out to us was Brian!! His clear passion for his craft and his restaurant was so crystal clear and we loved his enthusiasm!! It was clear his staff were all happy to be their best and the repeat customers on either side of us who professed their love for the place made us ask…. How can we get one of these in our town!!?? “They went around our neighborhood placing menus on everybody's door. Decided to try it out using the coupon. The price was reasonable for the amount of food that they gave you. It was fresh and tasted good. This place is tucked away on a side road so you don't even know it's there. There is seating inside if you'd like to stay and eat or take it to go. Parking on the side of the building is a little strange though.“
