“Stay: 10/20/2023 - 10/26/2023 Room: SwedishWish I could review the whole town. We really enjoyed our time in Ipswich; some of the nicest and friendliest people we have ever met.We arrived at the Inn around lunch time and asked for suggestions for lunch; we tried them all during our stay and loved them all. Oh, and the breakfast at the Inn is great; we are missing walking downstairs to a great breakfast every morning.Love the location of the Inn. Basically, overlooks the town and everything is within walking distance. The Choate Bridge Pub and Brown Dog Restaurant are an easy walk straight down the hill from the Inn; we tried them both and enjoyed them both. I believe the Brown Dog was our favorite; ate there three time during the week and met some very nice people there. Also, the Ipswich Ale Brewery is worth a visit with good food and beer. While in town, if you want to try something different, check out the 1634 Meadery. Very cool.We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return some day; hopefully bring the grandkids next time. You will not be disappointed with the Ipswich Inn Bed and Breakfast.“
“Friendly staff and good food. Dine in or takeout. I usually stop in for takeout once a week or so. Food is always consistent. Located downtown on Central St. past couple years they've had outdoor curb side seating with propane heaters if that's your thing.“
“Just moved to the Boston area and celebrated our anniversary here. The clam chowder was excellent NE, and the French Onion soup was classic. I had the baked oysters, which was a first for me and I'd return for them as well as the mussels! We had the special Sea Bass and the Seafood Risotto, both large portions and excellent! Their special Old Fashion was made the same way as my all time favorite of bourbon on the rocks with an orange slice or twist but made perfect muddled with sugar and cherries. The Old Fashioned and wine were huge free pours. Reservations are difficult to get, so plan early and let them respond with availability. The large private parking lot is not large enough!! Cars were overflowing to the side street! Will return for sure!“
“Great place but what makes it the BEST is that it has my favorite bartender in the world!!! Ask for Janelle, she is absolutely incredible, attentive, and one of the most dynamic coolest people you'll ever meet!! Oh, and they have pool tables so that's a plus! Nachos are bomb too, makes it my favorite place, just didn't wish I live so far, but well worth the trip! 10 out of 10 highly recommended“
“Staff and service are great. Good draft beer selection, with something for everyone. Steak tips were delicious, big portion and plate overflowing with crispy fries. Included side salad was basic iceberg but loaded with cherry tomatoes, croutons, cheddar and just enough red onion -salad also overflowed the plate. Seemed a bit pricey for a pub, until it was placed on the bar in front of me!“
“Charlie is always very accommodating, great portions, hot & delicious food. Alli was our server and she was wonderful!! Very upbeat and outgoing, smiled a lot and checked in on us, which is one if my oet peeves. There's a reason we keep going back!!“
“I was told about Ipswich House of Pizza several years back. Finally was able to make it there and try it!! I had a Steak Bomb he had a Roast Beef Sub and fries. The steak was so flavorful and the veggies and cooked salami added such a nice flavor. Silly me thinking I could handle a large! There is so much steak and the right amount of veggies and salami! The Fries are amazing and cooked to perfection!! Been back 2 more times!! Oh and the owner and people there are the nicest most genuine people! They treat you like family!! Highly recommend Ipswich House of Pizza. Lisa Boutin & Jon Birchmore“
“We hosted my daughter's bridal shower on February 3rd. My daughter told me that it was even better than she dreamed it could be! Dayna and her team were amazing! She helped the event go smoothly and allowed me to enjoy the event with my daughter! Food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. I would highly recommend Grove Rowley. Thank you Dayna!!!“
“We LOVE Loretta Restaurant. It is our favorite go to for a girl's luncheon, a romantic dinner, or a dinner out with friends. The food is superb, we have never had anything but delicious mouth watering lunches and dinners. The meals are made to order and you can ask for special care for allergies. We have never been rushed so the table can turn over! The wait staff is personable and a pleasure. I highly recommend a visit and a meal, if you do you will come back! And the owner is always there to make sure things run smoothly and all leave happy!“
“... One of our go-to restaurants when hitting the theater... Food is always fresh & delicious. Our waitress was excellent. She was attentive to all her tables ... it was very busy but she never made you feel like she didn't have time. It is a bit loud when the entire place is full but we were sat closer to the kitchen & it was a the perfect table. I was surprised the sounds were not overwhelming. We did have to wait for about 40 minutes for a table ... but it was Saturday @ dinner time. We chose to wait instead of sitting at the bar. We took our favorite pizza home with us .. fig & prosciutto... they did change the recipe but it was still amazing! Stop by if you're looking for great dishes or an outstanding pizza!“
“We were very excited to try the Blue Marlin from reviews we’ve seen. I have to mention our initial reaction was a little sketchy when we first entered and encountered the hostess. She looked at my family (including me, my wife & 2 adult daughters) and asked… “What can I do for you?” with an unwelcoming look on her face we interpreted to mean What are you people doing here? If we weren’t celebrating my wife’s birthday I probably would have left. She brought us to our table, literally threw the menus on the table and said someone would be with us. THANKFULLY, our server came and was super friendly. Everything else went well. The food was pretty good and seemed fresh. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. The only other slight disappointment, though not a big thing, was I mentioned my wife’s birthday to our server but no special recognition was afforded her. Would probably like to return and try it again.Wheelchair accessibility: Felt that interior restaurant tables might be a little too close to allow for easy wheelchair access“
“My daughter and I had a great experience tonight at the Double Bull. Got a nice cozy booth and got excellent service from Kat, who answered all of our questions, checked back regularly on us with refills, and was all smiles with a charming personality.I got the perfectly spicy taco salad with a very good sized portion of salmon on top. Delicious. My daughter got the kids mac & cheese and gave it rave reviews. We enjoyed the whole atmosphere and the games upstairs. Excellent spot for quality Dad/Daughter time.Parking: Big mall parking lotKid-friendliness: Good spot for kids as there are table games, coin op games, and plenty of tasty food optionsWheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair lift for guests looking to visit the upstairs pinball & arcade games“
“I made a mistake while ordering food for my wife. When she went to pick it up, she called me to express her frustration (anger) to me. I immediately contacted the restaurant and spoke with a woman who was on the phone on Thursday night. She was kind enough to replace the food, even though the mistake was mine. It was my first time ordering from this place, but it definitely won't be my last. Also, I must say that the swordfish I ordered was absolutely delicious!“
“This was my first time at the Berry Tavern. We’ve been hearing all about it for a while now and decided to give it a try. Nicole is cute as a button and the sweetest person. We loved talking to her! The food was fantastic as well. We will absolutely be back!!“
“I've seen a big change in the food - well done to burnt home fries, scrambled eggs not to my liking. I get my usual so the menu hasn't changed, trying the restaurant occasionally to see if they're improving but I'm disappointed ?“
“The food was unbelievable I got a 3 way roast beef and I can honestly say it was one of the best roast beef's in the Northshore. Service was good it was quick and the workers were nice. The only thing was it was expensive and they didn't give me as much beef as I would of liked.“
“Love Daily Harvest cafe! The food and coffee is always fresh, delicious, and served with a smile. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. My favorite breakfast is the veggie sunrise wrap and the Chloe sandwich for lunch features the most delicious cranberry orange mayo! I love that their breakfast wraps and sandwiches have freshly cooked eggs, not the microwaved patties you sometimes find in other coffee shops. We come here year round, but I especially love DH around the holidays. It's small and cozy, and I always look forward to voting for my favorite gingerbread house while sipping on an eggnog coffee. :)“
“Waiter was great, food was great....nice atmosphere. Oysters were so-so, and the olives in the martinis are the little puny ones from a jar. Still will be going back and would recommend to friends. Burger was outstanding, Salmon was also great.“
“The best meal I've had on the North Shore the last 10 years...and it was chicken!! If you like well seasoned, flavorful food, make a special trip for Kitchen Table's Garlic Herb Chicken. The service was perfect for a couples night out; attentive without interruptions. Give KT a try if you haven't yet. We will be back again soon.“
“I have eaten at Park Lunch a few times for lunch. It is a pub/tavern atmosphere. The service has always been polite and attentive. I have never had a bad meal here. I especially enjoyed their fried clams and Tuna Melt. You can't go wrong here, especially for fried seafood!“
“We were in the area this week to visit family and ate at the Village Pancake House for three meals. Each one was perfect, the servers are friendly and efficient, and we left very happy!I got the same breakfast each day: scrambled eggs, bacon and blueberry pancakes. Each time I did not want the meal to end. The pancakes really are the best I have had in decades!“
“I loved everything about this place. Great atmosphere, tasty burgers and an extremely thoughtful beer selection, both local brews and imports alike. I had heard good things about the burger and was not disappointed. A cool place to hang on a chill Sunday evening.“
“Great service last night. Renee was delightful. Cheery and made us feel "special". She suggested all her favorites and never left us with an empty glass of wine. Food was outstanding and we won't have to cook for 2 days with leftovers.“
“This is the go to breakfast spot! It always feels like you are going to a beloved family members place for comfort food! The staff is always friendly the food is so delicious and unique! Baked goods and prepared food to-go makes ot a quick stop if needed! Highly recommend for locals and tourists alike!“
“One of the best seafood restaurants in New England. On weekends extremely busy and crowded and ambiance is like eating in a bus station unless you bring your food outside. But these guys are totally impressive filling orders quickly-they have the process totally down. Fried clams and onions rings are amazingly fresh and portions are big. Good coleslaw. Chowder is a little too thin and milky. Free soda refills. Definitely worth a special trip.“
“Finally tried this place and it lived up to the hype. Dining room was nicely spaced out and comfortable.Food was excellent. One of the best French onion soups I’ve had. We had the duck, filet, bolognese and sword fish special. All were delicious and servings were hearty. Will return often and look forward to sampling other menu items.“
“Ordered the homemade Corned Beef Hash with eggs and home fries. Everything was delicious. My order was taken on a handheld device. I've been to a lot of diners and it's nice to see this one has embraced technology. The staff was friendly as well as the crowd. I'll be back.“
“The bacon is crisp, ham steak large, coffee needs minimal sugar/milk, eggs fresh, service quick, servers happy, and an energetic place. Can’t wait for the signs of the pandemic to go away - the plexi glass holders. I’d come back for sure!“
“35 Beach is worth a visit! In the old Beach Street location in Manchester-by-the-Sea. New owners completely remodeled inside, and it is fresh and welcoming. Food and service are excellent! I had not realized they served breakfast too, until yesterday when we stopped in - was excellent and happy to have such a nice breakfast spot back on Cape Ann...“
“as a long time guest at Bradford Tavern, i have truly never had a bad experience. most recently, my server, Marissa, was absolutely wonderful. she was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and so attentive to our every need. food and drinks were incredible as always, we will be back!“
“Liked my time here! Even though we sat at the bar and the entire place was super crowded, the service was pretty efficient. The cocktails were made in front of our eyes and were very tasty and definitely not watered down like in some other places (we took Irish coffees). The lobster rangoons were also pretty good!“
“Went to their new location right next to their old one . I had my parents 50th wedding anniversary there at the old one many years ago . Was a big success ! The new one which I was not aware had been changed over from the old location was absolutely fantastic. We went at 2 pm for an Easter reservation ! The food was absolutely wonderful ! The service was as good as the food ! We are on the second level ! The place is spotless ! Clean and new ! Our waitress was amazing ! She was right there from beginning to end making sure we had enough water and drinks were full etc ! The kitchen helpers who assisted with the food delivery were fantastic ! They helped the waitress out perfectly! It was very busy as it was Easter ! The food was ordered, muscles. Sushi, which is excellent ! And steak tips and apple filled raviolis and a had a Caesar with chicken tips ! Calamari my son had was excellent ! There was not one thing to complain about. All the other guests around us were getting great service and their food was served very quickly I noticed! The Host and Hostess at the front door greeted us promptly and on our leaving were greeted and thanked for coming. Al I will say is , we will be back ! The new roof top deck looks awesome! It overlooks Newburyport while also being private from onlookers walking below. ! The place gets 5 stars hands down ! Great job Black cow and all the workers on a busy Easter holiday ! Thank you !“
“Hadn't been here since pandemic, and they had completely re modeled, atmosphere was more cozy, bar added in and appealed too young and old. I sat on on new dining side. The food was delicious as always and all the servers were very friendly.“
“Visiting Danvers from NYC, and this is definitely the best restaurant around! Great customer service and the yummiest stuffed peppers. We tried the Rueben also and my husband was psyched. Authentic Greek food with a real authentic vibe. Definitely try this spot!!“
“We’ve been wanting to come here for quite a while. We unfortunately arrived a couple minutes after closing but were kindly let in. All the donuts we got were INCREDIBLE (even for at the end of the day). The sweetness level was perfect — not overpoweringly sweet like most places. I’ve tried local donut places all over New England and I can confidently say that these are the best I’ve ever had. My favorite was the strawberry frosted — the glaze tasted like ACTUAL strawberries. The maple bacon was such a fun flavor too! The hospitality of this place was phenomenal. I’m looking forward to coming again!!!“
“The small burger chain, Lexie's, should not be missed. They have a handful of locations in Massachusetts and NH. The one in Newburyport is on the main drag and is easy to get to. The dining room is small but clean and bright with neat artwork on the walls. Piped in music was not too loud. The staff is friendly and engaging. Their burgers are just the right size, never too big and not too small. Delightfully messy and tasty! Their fries are perfect and can be ordered in a few different ways. Definitely stop for lunch or dinner!“
“Regular marina foodBreakfast, lunch or dinnerBasic sub shop menu with some diner offerings.Easy access to the marina and plenty of parking.Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian salad and sandwich options. Dinners might have vegetarian options.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of HP spots, no instructions.“
“We ordered a couple Gyros when we were visiting the area over the weekend. The meat was great but they added a lot of lettuce the gyro. They even had homemade butter cookies, WOW THEY WERE DELICIOUS ?? Also the homemade baklava was wicked good, definitely order that when you try this place.“
“I happened upon this location. Food was good, server had great personality & service. The area around the bar was a little louder & busier than I normally like. But I saw they do have a separate dining room area. If I'm back in the area, I will return & recommend.“
“Excellent service, great selection, and fresh ingredients. I was not super excited to pay money for a wrap considering I make them all the time at home, but I was very wrong. I have had two so far, steak and goat cheese and jerk chicken. Both very good. They have a few options for type of wrap and also offer bowls. Well done.“
“Clean with friendly staff. The prices were reasonable. The were portions were large and the coffee was good. The food came quickly, but we didn't feel rushed to leave. I highly recommend this spot. The food wasn't greasy and salty. This is my new go to spot for breakfast with my family.“
“For breakfast they should offer FRUIT and they do not, also the veggie omelets do not have alot of veggies very minimum. If they could offer some healthier options it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, food is good, atmosphere is nice, service is friendly.“
“Boo birds food is always amazing but the new fall menu is off the charts good! We had food to go and got the autumn fall salad with chicken -perfection, the fish and chips and it was absolutely amazing! usually to go food isn't the best, but this was like we were right at the restaurant it was so good I'm going to get the salad again and again - thank you!“
“We went to Beverly Depot for Valentine's Day, and everything was exceptional from the service to the drinks to the main course to dessert! We've been many times, and personally, I never had a seafood dish. The haddock with crabmeat stuffing was a generous portion and perfectly cooked and so tasty. The Depot Cosmo was a perfect start to the evening and the wine with dinner was a generous pour (which you don't see at a lot of in restaurants these days). Of course the salad bar is the best around and so fresh along with my favorite, the cheddar cheese and fresh baked bread. The shared caramel, coconut, banana and pecan fried ice cream dessert was so unique and beyond delicious, and even the coffee and the coffee drink to cap off the evening had such a great smooth flavor! The staff was super friendly and attentive and paced each course perfectly. The value for such a complete quality meal in such a great atmosphere was phenomenal as well! Thanks to the team at The Beverly Depot. Keep up the great work!!“
“I might just be a simple man with a simple family. But my family and I think this place is a destination restaurant. We've had fish & chips all over - including New York City, Epcot, and Boston. But this unassuming restaurant astounded us with their fish and chips. Our server tells us that they get their fish fresh every morning, so that might have something to do with it. We will be coming back here for sure.“
“We were visiting Manchester by the sea and went to this restaurant for our first dinner, this did not disappoint whatsoever! First of all, the menu was amazing and had an exceptional amount of options. The ambiance was perfect with low music and lighting, great for families and couples on date nights! Service was pretty decent... we had a waitress who was training another one which was nice to see the work progress, overall they remembered everything and were very professional, kind, and knowledgeable.“
“Went here last week and their haddock was just perfect, very testy and sides were just the right portion. From the appetizer to the main dish they got everything out quick and service was great. Seems like they have redone the place from the last time i was here and looks great.“
“This is one of the better "clam shacks" in Massachusetts and in all likelihood the most well-known at least here on the coast. This place is somewhat of a legend which translates to "very popular". In the summer, good luck getting in without waiting quite a long time in line...which I no longer am willing to do. The beauty of coming here "off season" and on a Sunday when the clocks were just turned back the night before is that you are hungry for lunch "earlier", and there are no crowds to speak of. So last Sunday when the clocks said it was 11:30am, it was in reality still 12:30pm in our minds (lunchtime!) as we had not yet had time to adjust to the time change. We've been here many times over the years but not in a very long time so it was nice to be back. Everything looked the same as it always has.We were soon to discover that the overall quality of the food is still quite good. Seafood is pricey these days, so clam shack or not, you're going to have to face the sticker shock. However, Woodman's is not nearly as expensive as another clam-shack/restaurant closer to home and the quality is better. It might be that the sheer volume of business that they do here may keep the prices ever so slightly better than some other places. My favorite thing to order (and what they are known for in particular) are the fried clam bellies. They also sell fried clam strip platters but for me, it is the clam bellies for sure. The bellies are meatier and really have the flavor of the ocean noticeable in each bite. The place is very large with lots of seating both indoors and out. You order at a counter and wait at your table for your number to be called. There is another counter where you can order beer and wine which is served to you right away and you bring to your table.Tom and I both got the clam belly platters, his with onion rings, mine with fries. The portion size was perfect for me but smaller than I remember....but trust me, it is still plenty of food. This is a no frills place that visually kind of reminds me of a camp dining hall.Other menu items include lobsters, lobster rolls, fish sandwiches, crab rolls, steamed clams with drawn butter (another fave of mine), etc. There are a few non-seafood items on the menu as well but that isn't what I'd come here for. There is ample free parking and everything is on one level and easily navigable. There are a few tables that are inexplicably very tight fits but just across the room are larger tables that are easier to maneuver in and out of.This is delicious New England seafood in an unpretentious, unfussy, relaxed setting. One of the reasons I love living in New England is classic seafood in a place just like this.“
“Great place for breakfast or lunch. We were all able to order just what we wanted (Fenway omelet, burger, Riverside salad) and sat and talked for quite a long time. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in this bright and cheery renovated boiler house. Save time for a walk along the river. Plenty of free parking available!“
“Zeno’s has always been great, but it’s time to face the facts; over the last couple years they’ve gone to another level entirely and are, by far, the best Beef spot in Massachusetts. While other trendy spots in the North Shore have become obsessed with pretentiously packing as much (average) beef as possible into their sandwich to get looks on social media or whatever, Zeno’s keeps it OG and uses appropriate but never thrifty amounts of their absolutely untouchable beef in every sandwich, making it a much more well balanced sandwich experience overall. There’s always a hint of “spice” to their beef but once again, unlike other spots, they don’t overdo it in an attempt to club you over the head. They simply let their untouchable product shine. Add to this some of the friendliest employees you’ll ever find anywhere to the mix and you have the stuff of legend. Zeno’s is the king.“
