“I was visiting the area and decided to go to Tia Maria’s in New Bedford for breakfast. I had the most amazing Natas of my life.I wanted to order a dozen right there and then and they did not have enough. Then I was sent to the source! This bakery is overall amazing. I came for the natas and came out with more bread than I should have lolThe costumer service was phenomenal. Payment can be made in cash or card.I will definitely go back when I visit the area.“
“Economy prices for sure! We got a box of pastries to take home with us as well as rolls and it came to less than $20, which was a lot less than we expected. The baker patiently explained what the different pastries were as we filled our box. Our favorite were the small cinnamon dusted egg custard tarts. So many things looks so good that we'll have to go back again next time we're in town to try them. The storefront is very plain and easy to miss (we drove right by it the first time) so be on the lookout for it.“
“Have been coming to this bakery for a few years now and they have yet to disappoint. If you do go, you HAVE to try their "small pops" (no other bakery in the general area makes them) and their Casiero (not positive on the spelling) bread which you can have them slice. So good. They also have a great selection of desserts, cheese rolls (with or w/out meats) and even a few Portuguese favorites like fresh goats cheese and homeade pimenta (crushed red pepper sauce).Lastly, what would a Portuguese bakery be without their friendly staff? Well, Nova doesn't lack in this "dept" either. The owners and their staff are very knowledgeable and super friendly. Needless to say, we'll be back again very soon.“
“Amazing sweet bread and muffins! This was my first time here and their sweetbread makes the best french toast. I will be driving here from now on. Happy to see there is a great bakery after Lydia's and Homelyke closed in the north end. Easy 5/5. I recommend this place for everyone.“
“When my husband and I first moved to New Bedford, Beira Mar Bakery was strictly a Portuguese bakery. Now it seems that the new owner is Brazilian and is beginning to introduce Brazilian pastries into the case! Tried a couple of things and am excited to see how the menu grows. I look forward to trying their pão francês (you can order ahead via WhatsApp) and just really happy there is finally a brazilian bakery in New Bedford!“
“We went to The Baker for the first time after a friend highly recommended it and it was AMAZING! We had lunch (steak and cheese and the tuna melt) with a cookies and cream cookie and everything was delicious. The coffee was also A+. And shout out to Alexandria, who took our order and gave us all the insider tips, including how to reserve a chicken pot pie, which we heard gets sold out within minutes of opening. We’ll be back very soon!“
